The scene opens up with a handsome man Ji han. attending a wedding. Inside the wedding hall, a pretty young lady is singing to the bride and groom. After she finishes singing, she gives a heartfelt speech to the bride describing her as her best friend. She pinky swears to the groom to make sure she takes care of her friend.
After the wedding, we see the young lady and the bride talking secretly. It seems the bride had hired the young lady to pretend to be her best friend because of the husband who fears she has no friends. However, the lady says that she was sincere about the bride’s husband taking care of her.
Meanwhile, Ji han, the groom and his father are talking. The groom pleads with his father to sell Ji han their land because he trusts him. But the father is distrustful of Ji han believing that Ji han is only close to them for his own benefit. When the groom threatens to never see him again, the father has no choice but to agree
Ji han leaves the building excitedly but then he runs into the young lady whose name is Na Ah Jeong. The documents she has in her arms falls to the ground intermingling with his land contract document. The two argue about who ran into eachother first and Ah Jeong takes revenge on Ji han for stepping on her paper by planting her lipstick mark on his document. She leaves him sassily but stops as she receives a phone call from a friend telling her they would be arriving from the airport. At the same time, Ji han also recieves a call from his brother that he would be arriving from New York.
Now, we see a young man sitting in a plane staring at a picture of him tucking his male lover in bed. man. It seems he’s been blackmailed. In that same flight, a young woman calls his attention with the help of a flight attendant. The woman is a friend Yoon chae won and she tells him that their families are planning to get them both married. The young man Do han asks if she’s the one responsible for that phone but Chae won replies that she’s more interested in his cute brother than in him.
Ji han is on his way to the company when he spots an old woman selling fruits at the side of the road. He kindly buys all her fruits leaving the old woman grateful. He then heads to work where his team is securing a deal with a company. They land the deal and everyone is happy. Meanwhile, the other staff notice how the Team leader is always harsh on Ji han and dragging him everywhere despite him securing more deals for the company. One of them suddenly says that it may be that the Team leader wants to get something from Ji han because there’s a rumor that he’s the grandson of the CEO of the company.
Meanwhile, the Team leader exchanges places with Ji han, driving him while Ji han goes to the back indicating that he’s indeed the CEO’s grandson. Ji han complains that despite all his hardwork, his grandfather won’t recognize his efforts but the Team leader thinks otherwise. At the same time, he ignores the groom’s messages (he had decieved the poor man into selling his father’s land after all)
The team leader then informs him that his grandfather is writing a will which is why he summoned his older brother back from New York.
Meanwhile, his older brother arrives at the airport and is heartily welcomed by his best friend who is coincidentally Ah Jeong. The two catch up unaware that Chae Won is watching them. Not only that, a paparazzi photographer is taking pictures of them.
Ji han is utterly shocked when he is sent a picture of his brother with a mysterious woman, in disbelief that his brother is actually with a woman.
The scene cuts to Ah Jeong driving Do han. Do han notices a script at her back seat and congratulates her for becoming a great actress but Ah Jeong skillfully diverts from talking about her career. Instead, she asks him why he suddenly returned after so long. Do han replies that it’s because of his grandfather’s illness but he feels it’s just a hoax. Ah Jeong is curious about his family because he never talks about them.
Then we cut to a huge placard where a CEO is being indicted for embezzling funds. We now see that same CEO kneeling inside a large room in front of a tired looking old man laying on a bed. Beside him are two ladies and they are both pleading with the old man to forgive the ceo for making a bad financial decision that brought ridicule to their company. The CEO talks about how he was sure the investment he was making with china was going well only for them to receive an anonymous tip and pull out
Just then, Ji han enters the room. The CEO and the two women give him scorching looks as he greets the old man who happens to be his grandfather.
Ah Jeong drops Do han off at a quiet neighborhood before driving away. He is standing at the road side when he gets a call. It’s from Ah Jeong and sge tells him to check his pocket. When he does, he’s surprised that it’s an envelope full of money. Ah Jeong tells him to eat and enjoy himself with that money as she would be too busy to accompany him. Do han is flustered. Just then, Ah Jeong gets a call. She’s late for her movie scene. She speeds to the location and grabs her costume from the female staff waiting for her. Her role is playing as a slave. She then begs the female staff to get her coffee before running off for the scene.
After completing her traditional scene, she secretly gets the coffee from the staff and heads over to give it to a casting crew but he tells her that due to her lateness, he had already gotten another extra. Although Ah Jeong begs, he us determined not to give her another chance. Just then, the director calls the casting crew’s attention saying they have a big problem.
A lot of people are gathered around a car where the main actress Na rae is. She’s refusing to ride a horse for the scene and her manager excuses her behavior saying she suddenly developed a trauma. This leaves the director shocked. The manager also says that she got frightened because the horse nearly bit her finger off when she tried feeding him carrots. The director is now confused about what to do especially after learning that the body double got into an accident on her way.
Just then Ah Jeong offers to be the double. They shoot the scene of her riding the horse and the director wonders how she learned horse riding. He recognizes her from another underwater movie she did. The casting crew tells him she has a license on scuba diving just in case. The director sees that she has learned a lot just In case. The casting crew then meets Ah Jeong and tell her he is giving her another chance because of her help.
That night at a trailer, Ah Jeong gives her friends back the things she had borrowed from them, the car keys and the bag. They advice her to be honest with her friend about what she’s really going through and not to act with him. Ah Jeong says that she had embarrassed herself enough in front of him. Then she recalls when she and Do han were both in jail. Ah Jeong had assaulted a group of men fir scamming her claiming they were filming a movie when in actuality, it was a porn movie. The men want to charge her fir beating them but she accuses them of lying and Do han says she had learnt martial arts.
They are both released from cell that night and Ah Jeong cries to Do han because she had thought she was getting a good opportunity. Do han comforts her telling her she would one day get a good opportunity.
The flash back ends and Ah Jeong and her friends are getting out of the trailer. Ah Jeong relays how embarrassed she is to face Do han especially since he’s doing so well in New York. Her friends support her sentiment but believe she should be proud of herself for her hardwork.
All of a sudden, the main actress Na rae and her entourage approaches them and with thinly veiled malice thanks her for being her body double, that she should have paid more attention in riding classes back in highschool. Ah Jeong responds with the same sarcasm that she gets lead roles even when she can’t ride a horse. Na rae then subtly jabs her by pointing out how she always gets extra roles and is in almost all the movies she’s in. She says sarcastically that they should grab dinner some time. Ah Jeong should make a schedule with her manager and set up a date (an indirect jab)
Na rae leaves and Ah Jeong watches as the director fawns over her. One of Ah Jeong’s friends remark how Ah Jeong was more popular than Na rae in highschool but now that they were in different positions, Na rae is intentionally trying to screw Ah Jeong over. The three women leave, feeling deflated.
In a spacious living room, the grandfather is gathered with all his five grandchildren. The other three are not in support of him giving Do han managerial rights of the company but Grandfather shame them reiterating that the two brothers are better than them. The eldest grand daughter insists that the shareholders wouldn’t support him. Grandfather says its’s the reason why he wants Do han to marry Taeyang group’s daughter Chae Won to give him more legitimacy. However, Do han avidly refuses due to the fact that they don’t have feelings for each other. Ji han isn’t happy to hear this.
At Do han’s apartment, Ji han scolds his brother for rejecting Chae won. He has tried to steer clear of trouble unlike their halfsiblings in other to gain their grandfather’s approval but Do han insists that he isn’t marrying Chae Won and tells Ji han to marry her instead and take over the company. Ji han gets emotional and says he can’t even though he wants to. That’s why he’s putting everything he has into supporting Do han.
Do han escorts him to his car and Ji han suddenly asks him if he has a lover in New York. Do han is flustered by the question and doesn’t reply at once so Ji han shows Do han the picture of him and Ah Yeong together at the airport leading Do han to be suspicious that he’s the one stalking him. But Ji han denies this since he never knew Do han’s New York address. Frustrated, Do han says that Ah Yeong is his girlfriend so Ji han should quit telling him to marry Chae Won. However, Ji han doesn’t want to hear this.
We cut to a scene of an ordinary family gathering. It’s Ah Jeong’s family and they had visited their relatives to celebrate ancestral rights without bringing Ah Jeong along. When they return home, Ah Jeong is hurt that they left her out. She confronts them by accusing them of treating her as an embarrassment to their family. Her mother, father and brother don’t care and Ah Jeong says she will remember their ill treatment of her and get revenge one day.
At a department store, Ji han is talking to Chae Won trying to convince her that he would ensure she marries her brother and get rid of his girlfriend but Chae Won tells him to leave things be since she and Do han have no feelings for each other. Then she asks Ji han if he doesn’t like her. Ji han replies that he does but we can tell it’s not romantically. However, he’s more interested in ensuring the marriage takes place so his brother inherits the company.
Ji han then visits the movie set where Ah Jeong is shooting a historical series. He runs into one of her friends who directs him to where Ah jeong is.
Do han is in his studio when he remenisces about his friendship with Ah Jeong back in high school. She stood up for him and fought with a group of girls when they were gossiping about Do han being gay. She even announces to everyone that she is his girlfriend to keep them from spreading rumors.
Then we see Ah jeong speaking to Do han on phone. She tells him that his brother came to see her. Do han tells her that the brother thinks she is his girlfriend and pleads with her to go along with it.
Ah Jeong and Ji han sit down for coffee together and Ji han tells Ah Jeong to break up with Do han. When Ah Jeong learns that his family are all forcing Do han into the marriage, she insists on not breaking up with Do han.
She then teases Ji han for not bringing money to her to at least bribe her. She leaves but Ji han chases after her and asks her the amount she would want to leave his brother alone. Ah Jeong demands two billion won leaving Ji han lost for words. However, Ah Jeong is not being serious but when she’s wiping her lips, Ji han suddenly recalls her as the lady who had run into him at the wedding venue and left the imprints of her lipstick on the back of the land deed. He recoils in anger and is about to confront her when Ah Jeong screams and points him out as a stalker fan to the male staffs. The staffs then warn Ji han to stay away from Ah Jeong much to his annoyance.
While she’s shooting her horseback riding scene, one of her friends point out that there’s a strange man watching her. Ah Jeong turns and sees Ji han glaring at her from a corner but she ignores him.
Seeing that the director is getting interested in Ah Jeong’s acting, Na rae manipulates him into making things difficult for her. This goes on for hours until Ah Jeong looses control of the horse and falls off, fainting immediately. She’s driven to the hospital in an ambulance and the casting staff immediately makes preparations to fire her and bring in someone else. Despite her friend’s please, the casting staff goes ahead with his decision.
Ah Jeong wakes up in the hospital and sees Ji han taking care of her hospital bills. But she pretends to be asleep until Ji han subtly tells her that she would have to call another guardian. Ah jeong then stands up from the bed and leaves the hospital with him. Ji han is surprised that she doesn’t call Do han for help since they are lovers. However, Ah Jeong is reluctant to let Do han know and begs him to let his brother know. When Ji han is about to leave, Ah Jeong tells him to drop her back at the set. From there, she would take the staff bus home to Seoul. Ji han allows it but when she enters the car, she tells him to drop her straight to Seoul. Ji han is surprised and Ah Jeong jokes that if she hadn’t told him to drop her at the set, he wouldn’t have let her in the car.
Next scene, we see Ah Jeong inside the staff bus squeezed with other people. She grumbles to herself that Ji han is cheap meaning that he had really dropped her off at the movie set.
The next day, Ah Jeong meets Do Han at his usual eating spot. He is worried about her bandaged arm and asks what happened. Ah Jeong is surprised that Do han didn’t tell him that she had gotten into an accident on set. As they are talking, Do han notices someone taking pictures of them. Do han immediately chases after the person. The man would have gotten away had Ah Jeong not appeared before him and tackled him to the ground. Do han then asks the man who sent him to spy on him. The man revealed that he was paid by his half brother, the director of LJ hotel. Do han let’s the man go. Ah Jeong is confused about what is going on and asks Do han if he comes from a family of criminals but Do han simply laughs and tells her she watches too many movies. He then promises to introduce her to his family that day.
The half brother is angry that Do han has discovered he was the one sending people to spy on him. The three half siblings plot to ensure that Do han doesn’t marry Chae won and take over the hotel.
Meanwhile, Ji han had done a background check on Ah Jeong with the help of the team leader who points out that it isn’t possible for Ah Jeong and his brother to be in a relationship since they didn’t visit each other all the while Do han was abroad plus she isn’t successful as she had claimed to her brother. Rather she was only an extra that has worked in all types of movies available. Ji han now believes that Ah Jeong is a gold digger and becomes more than determined to destroy their relationship. However, he suddenly recieves a call from someone that the land contract bounced. Ji han is shocked. That’s when remembers that he switched the deed of the land with another paper the day he first ran into Ah Jeong.
He immediately calls Ah Jeong who is at the bus stop going through her scripts. She notices the land document when she suddenly gets a call from Ji han telling her to return the document. Ah Jeong tells him she is invited by Do han to see the family. She would return the document to him then. She hangs up.
At LJ hotel, the party to introduce the next chairman is being held. Grandfather meets with Do han bringing Chae won with him. He reminds him to carry out his duty by marrying Chae won. Do han is upset and asks him why he’s doing to him. He and Ji han are both his mother’s illegitimate children. They are both blemishes to grandfather so why then is he forcing only him through this torture. Grandfather replies that Do han is indeed a blemish but he wants people to recognize him and not look down on him. That’s why he wants the marriage to take place.
Ah Jeong arrives at the hotel, wondering why Do han invited her here. Just then, Ji han sees her, accusing her of being a fake lying to his brother about being a successful actress when all that is a lie.
Ah Jeong cannot deny his accusation and gets embarrassed when Do han overhears. She leaves in a distraught state while Do han and Ji han go somewhere else to argue. Do han yells at Ji han to stop butting into his business. In that moment, the three half siblings enter mocking the close brothers for fighting. They bring out photos of Do han with his mysterious lover. Although no body knows it’s a man, they all think it’s Ah Jeong and tells Do han that their grandfather won’t be happy to hear he’s dating another woman other than Chae won but Do Han doesn’t care.
He goes to find Ah Jeong and sees her in front of the main hall looking solemn. Ah Jeong apologises for lying that she was doing well when in reality her life was a mess. Do han forgives her but then to her surprise, offers a weird proposal, to act as his fiance in exchange for two billion won. Ah Jeong is shocked because she doesn’t think he is rich enough to give her such money. However, at that moment, grandfather announces Do han as his successor and the doors of the main hall is thrown open wide but grandfather is shocked to see Do Han together with Ah Jeong. Ah Jeong is shocked to learn that Do han is a chaebol. Ji han who was searching for Ah Jeong to collect the land deed hears his brother proposing to her and immediately yells out to Do han not to marry Ah Jeong
The episode comes to an end.
