The family is surprised to see Byeon moo jin, Ae yeon’s ex husband and Mi rae’s father alive. It turns out that Jae-gyeol, the individual who pretended to be the landlord, is actually the agent in charge.
In a flashback, after their divorce, Moo Jin leaves Ae yeon custody of their children. He asks if she wouldn’t regret divorcing him but Ae-yeon confesses outside the courthouse that meeting him is the worst experience of her life. Only their children bring joy and positivity to her.
The neighbors all gossip about how Moo-jin who was often called Mooron, consistently squandered money throughout his marriage with Ae Yeon time in hopes of making a profit. They wondered how he suddenly became rich buying the house where his family kicked him out.
Moo jin decides not to kick his family out and occupy the burnt apartment. He goes shopping for expensive household items but appears stringent with money now. Hyeon-jae, still surprised his father is alive, accompanies him as he inspects the destruction in burnt apartment 302 but Mi-rae appears and orders him to go to school then coldly, instructs her father to communicate with her about the apartment and the relocation process. She doesn’t answer him when he asks if she became a lawyer. Mi-rae tells Ae yeon and Hyeon jae that she will borrow money so they can move to another place.
Regrettably, their search is unsuccessful as nothing truly meets their requirements. They spend the whole day searching for other apartments but there are no worthwhile options to purchase. In contrast, the inhabitants of the villa quickly begin to flatter their new landlord but are surprised to discover his connection to Ae-yeon and Mi-rae when they see Hyeon jae call Moo jin father while he and Ae Yeon are talking about moving out. They also notice Mi rae’s cold look towards Moo jin as she picks up her mother for another round of house hunting
One of the inhabitants of the villa, Lee Jeong-hyeok, continues to keep a close watch on Moo-jin. He is the one who is doubtful about the arson attack and thinks their new landlord might be to blame. Moo jin himself seems suspicious when he doesn’t let his cleaner touch a particular bag. While alone, he pulls out a few matches and appears ready to ignite a cigarette. Recall that burnt matches were seen on the ground in episode 1 after the fire. One of the tenants meets Moo jin and points out that he seems very familiar.
In another location, we see Nam Tae-pyeong in a spontaneous montage as he wakes up and prepares for work. At work, he ends up next to Mi-rae in the elevator. She’s in a bad mood because she still hasn’t been able to find a place to live. But again, she doesn’t realize he helps her input the location to her floor because she’s deep in thought.
Following a dramatic incident caused by Mi-rae’s former partner who embarasses her in front of her co-workers, Mi-rae chooses to go back to her house. Nevertheless, she scrapes her knee. Tae-pyeong arrives once more to rescue her and whisks her away on his motorcycle. However, what Mi-tae truly requires is to be rescued from her daily grind. She puts in a lot of effort, but doesn’t have much to display as a result. She thanks Tae Pyeong for his help but insists on going home herself.
While sitting with her friend that night, her friend reveals she is getting a divorce while Mi rae tells her she has made the decision to stop dating. She has a multitude of problems to address and dating will only make matters worse for her.
When it comes to men, we switch back to Moo-jin as he dresses after relaxing in the bathhouse. Currently, he has a tattoo on his arm, but the true enigma for the locals arises from the way he earned such wealth. One of his neighbors tells him everyone has wagered a bet to find out how he really made his wealth. He wants to know how he made his money but Moo jin doesn’t tell him.
Meanwhile, Ae-yeon’s neighbor bothers her to find out if she knows how her ex made his money but she shows no interest at all. Moo-jin meets her just as she’s staring at the building and asks if she didn’t miss him. He tells her he doesn’t mind her staying but Ae yeon is determined to leave, preferring to live on the street but she gets enticed when Moo jin goes a step further and lets her stay in the apartment without paying rent!
Meanwhile, Tae Pyeong is a martial artist. His friends ask him why he hasn’t been at the studio. He replies it’s because he had to save someone i.e Mi rae.
Meanwhile, Mi rae recalls what broke the camel’s back and made her resent her father. Because of him, her mother’s tteokbokki business which she slaved for, even took out an insurance money that fell through because loan sharks came after them. Since that day, she had disowned him as her father. Mi-rae is resolute in refusing any assistance from their father, while Hyeon-jae is fully onboard with the idea of mooching off his dad. He lacks shame and goes as far as posting on Instagram about how awesome his father is which annoys Mi rae.
She even argues with her mom after finding out that she seems reluctant to move. Ae yeon leaves her and meets up with Moo jin at the nearby restaurant owned by a neighbor that night. She gets straight to the point and asks why he suddenly appeared out of nowhere. He tries to lie but Ae yeon notices that he snorts whenever he lies so Moo-jin ultimately confesses that he was aware. Ae yeon is angry with him and Moo jin grabs her tightly telling her she knows the real reason he returned. It was so that he can live with her again and that she has no idea what he had done to be with her. Ae yeon is surprised as Moo jin confessed this. He keeps hold of her wrists outside the store until Mi-rae arrives. She yells at Moo jin to let go of her mother and seems as if ready to attack him.
However, the sound of Mi-rae’s shrieks summons Tae-pyeong suddenly and he strikes Moo-jin directly on the face. Moo-jin gets a nosebleed. Seeing their shocked reaction and Ae yeon calling Moo jin honey, Tae Pyeong thinks he made a mistake realising that Moo jin is Mi rae’s father but Mi-rae pushes her father just as he’s about to stand up, ending things in a chaotic manner.
The neighbor who finds Moo jin familiar recalls that the day before the fire at the family villa, the landlord joined Moo-jin outside to drink and dance. Nevertheless, in the landlord’s house, Moo-jin informs him that their relationship is finished and insists everything is over, causing the landlord to throw an object at him which hits the wall. What is the meaning behind all of this?!
Moo jin is one very mysterious man. What is he hiding? Anyway, Mi rae should chill a bit but i doubt that will happen because she has declared war on her father.
