Red Swan Episodes 7-8 Recaps

In episode 7 of Red Swan, the story continues with Hyun-soo being arrested by prosecutors for embezzlement, just as we had seen before. Wan-soo is in shock and concerned because Hyun soo is her only living relative, so Do yoon attempts to reassure her. While they are holding hands, Yong-guk comes by and notices them. Nevertheless, he disregards it and attempts to contact lawyer Han.

Attorney Han disregards Yong-guk’s phone call and instead, has a meeting with Yong-min and his spouse, Ji-yeon. The elderly man criticizes Yong-min for his underhanded actions. He does not specify the actions that Yong-min took on behalf of Ji-hyeon. Nevertheless, it is evident that Yong-min was the individual who anonymously tipped off the prosecutor. Yong-min wants to take Hwain away from his brother, but he chooses the incorrect action at the inappropriate moment.

In another place, Wan-soo goes to the prosecutor’s office to comfort her brother. Hyun-soo exposes that he possesses incriminating information about Hwain and refuses to give up without putting up a struggle. He also asserts the same when Mr. Han visits to ensure that he will be blamed. Mr Han is nearly impressed and assures to release Hyun-soo quickly. He also attempts to disrupt Hyun-soo’s focus by suggesting that Do Yoon may be the one with the authentic documents.

Afterwards, Mr Han deceives Chairwoman Park by claiming he suspects Do-yoon of stealing the ledgers and informing the prosecutors about the Now Foundation. He reassures Chairwoman Park that she doesn’t need to worry because he will take care of everything. The pair then contact Wan-soo and convince her to confess that she instructed Do-yoon to steal the ledgers on her behalf. Mr. Han and Chairwoman Park criticize her for being foolish to engage in a romantic relationship with her bodyguard and sharing important information with him, especially considering his background as a former police officer. There is a debate happening about whether or not to kill Do-yoon, with Wan-soo maintaining that Do-yoon is not guilty and she will get the ledgers back. She doesn’t believe Do-yoon went to the prosecutors’ office. She vows to retrieve the ledgers out of worry for Do-yoon.

On the contrary, Do-yoon reviews the accounts and is shocked to discover that it’s Chairwoman Park who will be blamed if the truth is revealed. Throughout the day, Lawyer Han makes a threat towards Do-yoon demanding the ledgers back, however Do-yoon declines. His curiosity grows as he seeks to uncover the reasons behind Mr. Han’s betrayal of Chairwoman Park. He reveals all the details about the ledgers to Wan-soo when she asks him to go for a run. Nevertheless, he becomes concerned when Wan-soo begins to question him once more and requests the ledgers to be returned. He is concerned that she won’t have any defenses if he hands her the ledgers. He requests that she have faith in him and let him shield her. The pair hug and acknowledge that despite their strong emotions for one another, they should refrain from acting on them at the moment.

At the same time, Ta-era feels insulted by Mr. Han’s rude rejection of her brother’s assistance. She contacts her mother to release information about Hyun-soo’s arrest and the money laundering problem after venting. Chairwoman Park becomes angry the next morning upon reading the newspaper. Mr Han assures that he will handle it once more. An unplanned meeting is requested while the media keeps asking about Wan-soo’s involvement and the possibility of her getting a divorce.

Mr Han pays another visit to Hyun-soo in order to ensure he will fulfill his part of the agreement and commit to securing his release promptly. Hyun-soo is wishing for the investigation to be conducted while he remains unrestrained. He brings up additional secrets he knows about Hwain Group in order to encourage Mr Han to hasten his work. Afterwards, Mr Han informs Chairwoman Park that Hyun-soo is working together, so they need to capitalize on this chance to convince Wan-soo to resign from the foundation.

They consent to release the candid photos of her and Do-yoon, but they require additional incriminating evidence of their affair. Their plan is to send Wan-soo to Busan for the anniversary celebration of Hwain Resort. They assure to send Yong-guk afterwards once he finishes work. They also request Wan-soo to participate in a photoshoot with Yong-guk during their visit to dispel the rumors of divorce.

Wan-soo agrees without giving it much thought. Mr Han instructs Lee Jin to clandestinely tail Wan-soo and take pictures of her relationship with Do-yoon. Nevertheless, he also instructs her to assassinate Wan-soo and make it look like Do-yoon committed the crime. In a flashback, it is revealed that Mr Han is concerned because he is aware that the Chairman’s legal will is going to be carried out soon. The Chairman traveled to New York to guarantee that Mr. Han would not access the will before turning 70.

The chairman is turning 70 soon and Mr Han is meeting with a lawyer from New York to gather additional details. Ailee, the attorney, declines to disclose the details of the will to him, but once he guarantees her a significant amount of money, she shares a hint. She states that the Chairman’s funds will be directed towards the Now Foundation. Later on, Mr Han contacts Yong-min and passes on this information to him. He pledges to hand over the Hwain Group to Yongmin as long as he agrees to assume control of the Now Foundation.

Following a challenging day full of problems, Chairwoman Park receives healing from the shaman. In the meantime, Do-yoon and Wan-soo take pleasure in a picturesque journey to Busan, pausing to admire the sea and embrace. They do not realize that Lee Jin is capturing images of them. After arriving at the house, they make themselves comfortable as they anticipate Yong-guk’s arrival. Nevertheless, Mr Han hinders Yonguk from arriving punctually. He also requests the guards at the Busan residence to return so that Lee jin has sufficient time to finish her task.

Upon discovering that Yong-guk will not be present, Do-yoon volunteers to keep watch in Wan-soo’s room to ensure her safety while making an effort to maintain a respectful relationship with her. He goes out to inspect the premises and So-dam seizes the chance to enter the house. Luckily, Wan-soo notices her presence just in time to defend himself and retaliate. Her cries call for Do-yoon, prompting him to quickly come to her rescue. He successfully brings her into the room and instructs her to flee through the window as he battles the masked assailant.

At this point, Do-yoon is absolutely certain that he is facing the same killer because of her expertise with a knife. He attempts to take off the assassin’s mask but is unsuccessful. The battle heats up and Do-yoon sustains injuries. However, he persists. At the same time, Wan-soo flees and takes cover in a boat docked at the port. So-dam spots her and launches another attack. This time, Wan-soo bangs her head on the table and passes out. Do-yoon arrives just in time to rescue her and proceeds to engage in combat with the assassin.

The eighth episode of Red Swan continues from where we left off, as Do-yoon rushes to the port to rescue Wan-soo. A violent altercation erupts once more between the assassin and Do-yoon, resulting in Do-yoon sustaining injuries. Fortunately, he is still capable of defending himself and cutting the assassin’s hand, as well. After kicking her into the water, he seizes the chance to board and steer the boat to escape. He doesn’t pass out until he gets Wan-soo away.

The following day, Yong-guk and Kyeong-ju hurried to the house, only to discover a gruesome sight. While at sea, Do-yoon regains consciousness and hugs Wan-soo with worry. They kiss passionately before he escorts her back to the house. Later, Wan-soo wakes up and is surprised to see herself holding onto Yong-guk, mistaking him for Do-yoon.

Yong-guk attempts to uncover the truth, but Wan-soo insists he doesn’t know either. The couple promptly smiled for the cameras with a cheerful appearance. Nevertheless, Wan-soo is contemplating about Do-yoon as she continues to sneak glances at him. Earlier in the day, she had cared for his injuries while discussing their upcoming strategy. Do-yoon acknowledged he had doubts about Mr Han, but they still required proof to confirm his intentions.

Following the shooting, Wan-soo complies with Do-yoon’s instructions and interrogates Yong-guk regarding Yong-min’s status as his biological brother and the Chairman’s demise. She suggests that the person wanting her dead is also responsible for the Chairman’s death. Naturally, Yong-guk is taken aback by the questions, clearly indicating that Yong-min is his stepbrother. Nevertheless, he is unaware of the reason or the person responsible for his father’s death and he rejects the idea that his dad was murdered. He believed his father passed away during an affair and his body was brought back home to conceal the incident. Do-yoon listens in on the couple’s discussion and strategizes his next step.

At the same time, Hyun-soo discloses the truth about the fraudulent shaman who has been selling the Chairwoman the expensive ‘Water of Life’. Hyun-soo did this in order to accelerate Mr. Han’s progress on his release and demonstrate that he holds incriminating information on the Hwain Group. The Chairwoman Park is being targeted by the media, causing her to be ridiculed and seen as a joke. Mr Han reassures the Chairwoman that he will resolve the issue yet again. He recommends that they publish the pictures of Wan-soo and Do-yoon looking intimate and state that they are in a passionate relationship.

Mr. Han tries to persuade Chairwoman Park by revealing the true motivation behind Do-yoon’s decision to join the company. He thinks Do-yoon is seeking revenge on Hwain for Ju-hyuk’s death but refuses to confess to Chairwoman Park that he was the one who gave the order for the attack. Chairwoman Park consents to the media strategy to protect herself.

Wan-soo still conceals her doubts about Mr Han and behaves friendly towards him. If Lee Jin fails the mission again, Mr. Han will assault her and make her go back to the 8 Star Gang. He deceives by claiming the directive was given by Chairwoman Park and instructs Lee Jin to get ready for a new assault. Mr. Han exposes Wan-soo’s affair while the media follows Yong-guk as he heads home to make a statement. Yong-guk goes back to his house and faces his mother. He holds her responsible for attempting to destroy Wan-soo’s reputation and accuses her of being the actual adulteress.

Chairwoman Park feels insulted when Yong-guk calls her shameless and blames her for ruining him. Yong-Duk expresses sorrow over how his mother’s infidelity has shattered him and as a result, he is unable to have a genuine relationship with the woman he loves. Chairwoman Park attempts to clarify that she was obligated to marry and that she is solely responsible for developing Hwain into its current state. However, Yong-guk maintains his stance that she should have kept her affair a secret from him. Ta-era listens in on their discussion and feels devastated. She has come to realize that Yong-guk will never return her love. She chooses to gather her belongings and depart.

Afterwards, Yong-guk sobs as he drinks, recalling how he developed feelings for Wan-soo. He discovered that he went to see Wan-soo’s mother after she passed away and was upset that Wan-soo hadn’t informed her about her mother’s death. Wan-soo then defined the limit between them, stating they couldn’t save their marriage because they were no longer in love. The next day, Mr Han assists Hyun-soo in getting freed and negotiates a new agreement. He requests Hyun-soo to accept the money in his name and vanish after providing the evidence he has against Hwain Group. He also requests Hyun-soo to retrieve the original ledgers from Do-yoon, uncovering that Wan-soo is romantically involved with the bodyguard. Hyun-soo is surprised and faces Do-yoon.

Do-yoon then questions why he isn’t looking out for Wan-soo and they discuss the ledgers. Do-yoon confesses his love for Wan-soo and is ready to defend her. He informs Hyun-soo that Mr Han was not truthful about the contents of the ledgers. In the event that the truth is uncovered, it will be Chairwoman Park who ends up in jail, not Wan-soo and her brother. Upon hearing this, Hyun-soo makes the decision to team up with his sister.

Do-yoon persists in investigating Mr. Han’s reason for framing Chairwoman Park. Once more, he enters Mr Han’s residence stealthily and examines the items in his safe. This time, he discovers proof that Yong-min is the son of Mr Han. He understands that Mr Han has a sinister scheme planned. Mr Han comes back to the house and Do-yoon manages to avoid being seen by sheer luck. He notices Yong-guk visiting Mr. Han but doesn’t stay to listen in.

Yong-guk accuses Mr Han of having a relationship with his mother. He teases Mr Han, claiming that Yong-min and Chairwoman Park will never fully embrace him because he is just a servant. Mr Han smacks Yongguk after losing control. He warns that he will murder Yong-guk if he harms Yong-min. Yong-guk also warns that he will kill Yong-min and himself if they interfere with Wan-soo. Following the meeting, Yong-guk returns home and requests for Do-yoon to be bound in his room. Fortunately, Wan-soo is notified by a servant.

Because of his huge ego, Yong-guk demands for Do-yoon to be released in order for them to have a fair fight. Nevertheless, he has a change of heart and seizes a firearm. He warns that he will murder Do-yoon unless he clarifies the reason for his visit to Hwain. Do-yoon stays composed and provides a detailed explanation on Ju-hyuk. As things begin to escalate, Wan-soo arrives just in time. She attempts to shield Do-yoon by confessing her love for him, however, he does not reciprocate the feelings. She pleads with Yong-guk to allow Do-yoon to carry on with his inquiry. Naturally, Yong-guk is devastated to witness Wan-soo defending Do-yoon.

However, Do-yoon is surprised that Wan-soo confessed her love for him. Once Yong-guk is settled, Wan-soo embraces him while Do-yoon gives them some privacy.

After a fortnight, the attorneys from New York come to the town to carry out the will of the Chairman. Mr Han attempts to gather additional information regarding the content of the will. Luckily, Ailee declines to provide any further information to him. Upon reflection, it becomes clear that the Chairman was aware of Yong-min’s relation to Mr. Han. He went to New York to ensure that his will cannot be changed. This is also the reason why he desired for his will to be carried out on his 70th birthday.

A week later, the lawyers gather at the house with the Chairman’s family to read the will. The Chairman shocked everyone by disclosing his 18 trillion Won slush fund and donating it to the Now Foundation. As per his instructions, only Wan-soo has authority to access the funds in the hidden Swiss account.

The Drama slowly began to prove itself especially with the recent episodes. I finally got the romance I had been waiting for. That kiss was really good and the romance got higher. Yongguk left me feeling sorry for him and that confrontation with his mother was a long time coming. I knew that Lawyer Han was plotting something but definitely not to betray Chairwoman Park. I can’t imagine how she will feel when she realizes what is in store for her. Plus the reactions of chairwoman Park and Yongmin to the will was priceless especially Yong min. It was as if he would loose his mind. Nevertheless, the last two episodes were really interesting. I look forward to the final two.
