Jung Won is suddenly called by her superior, letting her know that she’s to replace the newscaster for the 9:00 clock news. He warns her to stay away from anything that could cause her scandal. This development causes Jung won to flee from the murder scene. But in her haste, she runs into her psychiatrist secretary who apologizes for giving her the wrong apartment number.
Jungwon meets with the psychiatrist for her session but she struggles to remain focused. Something the psychiatrist quickly notices. On her way home, Jung won worries if there are any surveillance cameras that may have caught her presence. She arrives home a mess as she tries hard to get rid of the blood stain on her sleeves.
Her husband Woo Jae comes home drunk saying he has to apologize. Jung won thinks he’s going to confess about his affair but instead, he complains about suffering from writer’s block. Meanwhile, Detective Tae Heon is unable to forget about how sad Jung Won was but his attention is interrupted by a call from his partner about Cha Eun Sae’s murder. Tae Heon arrives at the murder scene and starts his investigation. He notices a necklace in Cha Eun Sae’s hands and his partner wonders if it belonged to the killer.
Tae Heon notices a clock that had stopped just like in Chaiman Mo’s housekeeper’s house. He wonders what it could mean. However, he deduces that this was a planned attack born out of revenge. The next morning, Jun Woong is irritated by her husband when he tries touching her. He thinks it’s because he got drunk last night and apologizes.
At the news station, everyone learns of Cha Eun Sae’s murder on the news. Her colleagues sense that Jung won would be uncomfortable since she died a day after they met. Jung won is called by the superior who encourages her to report on Cha Eun Sae’s murder case in order to be on the good side of the Ceo. If she doesn’t, he may have to give the position to her rival Ji ho. Although reluctant, Jung won has no other choice. Tae heon visits the forensic doctor who is doing an autopsy on Cha Eun sae’s corpse. Based on her findings, it’s obvious that there are a lot of similarities from the housekeeper’s murder to that of Cha Eun Sae. The forensic doctor reveals that Cha Eun Sae was three months pregnant.
Tae heon and his partner are heading back to the station when they notice Jung Won standing in front of the building. Tae heon’s partner leaves them alone to discuss and Jung Won starts asking Tae heon about the murder case. Finally, she asks if Cha Eun Sae was really pregnant. Tae heon, shocked, asks how she knew but Jung won simply replies it was a tip off and leaves.
Now that she has knows Cha Eun Sae was really pregnant, Jung Won confronts Won Jae about his affair with Cha Eun Sae but he denies it, saying she was obsessed with him. He had even blocked her humber and showed it to Jung Won as proof but it’s hard for Jung won to believe him. Jung Won then asks why he went to a psychiatrist to which Jung won revealed that he has depression caused by loneliness. A tear escaped Jung Won’s eyes after hearing this.
The next morning, Jung Won discovers that the necklace Won Jae bought for her is missing. Won Jae says she must have kept it in her office like last time. Jung won then apologizes for her misunderstanding, promising to have more time for him. At the news station, Jung won searches for the necklace at her desk but is unable to find it. Her superior calls for her and when she arrives at his office, she meets her rival Ji ho there. The two bicker as usual and Jung won tells the superior to choose between her and Ji ho who would remain in his office especially when she has a scoop for him. The superior sends Ji ho out and Jung won reveals that Cha Eun Sae was pregnant.
Jung Won and her team go to speak with a woman who discovered she was in a con marriage. While listening to her, Jung Won can relate because just like the woman, she feels deceived in her own marriage. Meanwhile, Tae Heon meets with Cha Eun Sae’s brother who is shamelessly live streaming his sister’s burial just to get clout. Tae Heon invites him to the police station as a witness.
Tae Heon and his partner arrive at Cha Eun Sae’s apartment. Tae Heon discovers that Eun sae had a collection of Won jae’s books on display in her living room. He also notices that she was delivered a cake at her home. Back at the station, Tae Heon and his partner go through a surveillance camera and discover shockingly that it was Jung won who had visited her with the cake.
Meanwhile, Jung won is going through the video on the woman from the con marriage. She is specifically bothered when the woman says the con husband had a second phone where he kept his fake life hidden. Just then, Zeus the hacker contacts her and she asks him to check if her husband has another phone with him.
Tae heon checks and discovers that Jung Won was at the same building where Cha Eun Sae died. Without wasting time, he heads to the station to see Jung won. He begins asking her about her relationship with Cha Eun Sae. Although Jung won answers as best she can, she grows increasingly uncomfortable with his constant questioning. Tae heon pursues her to the elevator where he speaks about Cha Eun sae’s affair with her husband. Triggered, Jung won refuses to talk about it. It is then Tae heon says that she’s like this because he is the one questioning her. They get out of the elevator and Tae heon hands her a pen with her name inscribed on it.
We suddenly get a flashback of Jung Won and Tae heon when they were younger. They were very close and she had given him the pen so he could write his number on her palm. She had even suggested they date since both of them were single at the time.
Now, Jung Won takes the pen from Tae heon and dumps it into a nearby trash can before walking away in anger.
That night, Jung won unlocks Won jae’s phone with his finger print while he’s sleeping. She tries to find evidence of his affair but her attempts are unsuccessful. The next morning, Jung won and Woo jae went to have breakfast with Woo Jae’s father but to her surprise, Assemblyman Mo was also invited. Her father in law tells her to apologize to Assemblyman Mo but Jung won refuses saying if she did, it would make her think she was wrong and it would reflect badly on her father in law. Assemblyman Mo suddenly mentions she’s as feisty as her father. Jung won is surprised that the assembly man knew her father and he replies they met when he was a prosecutor.
After the breakfast, Chairman Pan Ho leaves. Woo Jae goes to answer a private call and when he’s gone, Assemblyman Mo suddenly tells her she married the wrong husband. His talk triggers her suspicion of Woo Jae all over again.
Tae heon calls Assembly man mo to ask him about a transaction his housekeeper Jin made in her account before her death. He asks Assemblyman Mo if he knows why she withdrew so much money but the Assembly man doesn’t know and Tae heon asks him to question his daughter. Assemblyman Mo hangs up annoyed at Tae heon’s daring attitude.
Meanwhile, Tae heon questions Cha Eun sae’s brother at the police station. His responses don’t add up making Tae heon suspicious of him. Tae heon reveals to Cha eun sae’s brother that she was pregnant. He also asks if she was seeing Woo Jae to which the brother replies he has no idea.
Meanwhile, Zeus contacts Jung won. He tells her that her husband did have only one registered line but he also had another one registered under his publishing company name. Jung won immediately searches everywhere in her house for the phone but she can’t find it. She then checks the surveillance camera and sees Woo jae throwing trash before traveling. She checks the trash and finds the phone but there is no contact on the phone. She gives it to a phone specialist and tells him to find out everything that’s in the phone.
Meanwhile, Cha Eun sae’s brother is bullying her manager, refusing to pay her salary. Tae heon and his partner arrive and warn him to pay her salary. However, they aren’t here for him. They take the manager to a private place in the park and ask her about Cha Eun sae’s relationship. The manager responds that she kept her private life a secret but she did seem to be in a relationship. She mentions that Cha Eun Sae’s brother used to be her manager so he would know because he always read her messages. But she had fired him because he was always gambling and making her life a living hell.
Finally, at the station, Tae heon’s partner tells him they had gone through Cha Eun sae’s call logs and it turned out she was speaking to Woo jae through his company phone. The two used to talk all day. Tae heon is happy at this finding.
Meanwhile, Jung won and her team barge in on the con man hitting his wife. However, he gets violent with them and starts hitting Jung won. Thankfully, Tae heon comes to her rescue beating the man so much that Jung won has to plead with him to stop. The man is arrested and Tae heon takes Jung won and the woman to the police station.
Tae heon then gets mad at Jung won after seeing the marks on his arm. He yells at her for not looking out for herself. Jung won wonders why he’s so mad at her but Tae heon reminds her of his former partner Detective Cha dying because he wasn’t careful. Jung won says she remembered because she wanted to cover the case in her show. Tae heon leaves her looking hurt and pained.
Jung won returns home and gets a list of numbers who called Lander’s palace (Cha Eun Sae’s apartment complex) She’s shocked to find that Won jae’s company number is amongst them, meaning he was there the night of Cha Eun sae’s death. She wastes no time in confronting Won jae when he arrives from his trip. Won jae is caught off guard and just when he’s about to answer, Tae heon arrives to take Won jae to the police station for questioning.
