No Gain No Love’s Episode 6 starts with investigating Hae-yeong’s workplace harassment case. She thinks that Ji-uk’s actions were a well-planned revenge plot. Afterwards, Ji-uk walks into the room and proclaims that he is her spouse. The executives understood that it was a disagreement between lovers, not a case of harassment.
In an extravagant hospital suite, Ja-yeon is roused from a terrifying dream involving her cruel father. Gyu-hyun is found by her there and informs her that she passed out. She is determined to reimburse him. One nurse informs Ja-yeon that he brought her to the hospital, and before she departs, Gyu-hyun apologizes again for the trouble he has caused.
At the office, Hae-yeong and Ji-uk talk about their next steps. Ji-uk is upset that she believed he betrayed her. In order to demonstrate her trust in him, Hae-yeong opts to perform a trust fall. She believes he’s gone, but when she trips and falls, Ji-uk is actually there to catch her.
After that, both she and Ji-uk deal with the aftermath of their scandal as different colleagues ask them about it. Following Hae-yeong’s guidance, they adopt bold shamelessness in response to the allegations.
However, their issues do not stop at that point. Hae-yeong learns that Bok Gi-un, the person who reported her, is resigning. Her coworker informs Hae-yeong that Bok Gi-un may have a connection to the Bok family, who are the CEO’s relatives. During their visit to Gi-un’s house, it becomes evident that Ji-uk has a close relationship with both Gi-un and his mother. She promises Hae-yeong that Gi-un will return to work, but scolds Hae-yeong for not cooking homemade meals for Ji-uk.
Afterwards, Hae-yeong expresses her frustration to Ji-uk regarding this issue. These remarks of a sexist nature are precisely what she sought to steer clear of. Ji-uk assures her that he will not allow her to miss out because of him. While returning home, Hae-yeong acknowledges Ji-uk’s need for a wedding ring to wear at work. The store informs her that Ji-uk purchased the ring he had previously leased.
When morning comes, Ji-uk is completely surprised to discover the unknown man sitting in his living room. The man raises the topic of Ji-uk’s wife and suggests eliminating her. Ji-uk responds harshly and inquires if Bok Gi-ho is the man’s boss. He denies it, but Ji-uk remains unconvinced. After Ji-uk departs, the man engages in a phone conversation with someone, revealing that the person is not Bok Gi-ho.
Hae-yeong meets Ji-uk at work in the morning and suggests that they start commuting together. Seeing the ring on his finger, she catches him lying by claiming he rented it. As the day progresses, they both receive numerous inappropriate comments suggesting their sex life which are said to be a customary practice within the company.
After finishing work, Hae-yeong remains curious about Ji-uk’s reason for purchasing the ring. She is curious about his feelings for her, but Hui-seong and Ja-yeon propose that he bought it as a matching ring with his girlfriend. Ja-yeon then discloses that she is resolving the case with Gyu-hyun under certain terms. He is required to participate in community service at a orphanage.
This is where Ji-uk volunteers as a teacher, alongside a girl named Yu-na. They encounter Gyu-hyun, who is tasked with cleaning numerous buckets of children’s clothing.
The director of the orphanage speaks highly of Ji-uk and when Gyu-hyun spends time with him, Ji-uk’s empathy for the children captivates Gyu-hyun. As Gyu-hyun is departing the orphanage, he encounters Director Eom, who is in charge of an art gallery and resembles Kim Sun-young’s character from Her Private Life.
The following morning, Ji-uk arrives to take Hae-yeong in his car. Hae-yeong inquires about his relationship status and he humorously responds that his wife is the only important woman in his life. He takes them to work and also provides Hae-yeong with her beloved triangle gimbap for breakfast. Ji-uk leans in to brush something off her face, creating a moment they share. She inquires about the ring at that moment, but he is rescued from responding by a phone call.
Gyu-hyun arrives at the office and is informed about an unexpected press event. Believing his father is the one behind it, he enters a room ready to confront him, only to be met by Hae-yeong and Ji-uk instead. It appears that the conference is addressing the child abuse problem that the pair had previously raised. The duo is also asked to join the chairman’s family for dinner later on. Ji-uk identifies Gyu-hyun from the orphanage and later observes the mystery man having a conversation with Gyu-hyun too.
A memory from the past reveals that Ji-uk had placed a smartwatch to capture the mystery man’s voice when he exited his apartment that morning. He overheard the man talking on the phone about mentioning using Hae-yeong. Ji-uk is naturally concerned about her now.
Currently, he is attempting to communicate something to her. She inquires whether his purchase of the ring was motivated by her. He asks, “What if I did?” Hae-yeong insists on the importance of her work, therefore, if his feelings are not genuine, he should refrain from expressing them.
The conference starts and afterwards the duo join the Bok family for dinner. Woo-jae and Yi-lin have also received invitations. Bok Gi-ho questions Hae-yeong about her family in a manner that resembles an interrogation. As the conversation shifts to Ji-uk, he declares that his father was a coward for not bestowing his name upon him.
Ji-uk mentioned that it was Hae-yeong’s strategic personality that attracted him. Hae-yeong made him feel valuable despite his feelings of worthlessness.
Following a sequence of them all consuming alcohol, we witness Hae-yeong awaken beside Ji-uk. However, there is another individual present in the bed, Woo-jae. At the conclusion of Episode 6 of No Gain No Love, all three of them let out screams.
Episode 6 of No Gain, No Love really digs deeper into the emotional and dramatic tensions between the characters. This episode stands out for its intricate mix of romantic entanglements, corporate politics, and personal growth. We see Son Hae-yeong and Kim Ji-uk’s relationship being put to the test, both in their personal lives and within the office environment. The way Ji-uk defends Hae-yeong from workplace allegations by boldly claiming they are married is a pivotal moment that shifts the dynamics between them. It blurs the lines between their professional and personal lives, adding layers of complexity to their budding relationship.
One of the more touching aspects of the episode is the “trust fall” scene, where Hae-yeong literally falls into Ji-uk’s arms. This symbolic gesture shows her desire to trust him, despite her reservations. Ji-uk catching her with ease not only reaffirms his loyalty but also hints at the emotional bond that is developing between them, despite the external pressures.
On the business side, the episode doesn’t shy away from the office intrigue, as Ji-uk continues to navigate corporate politics, dealing with accusations and trying to outmaneuver those who aim to undermine him and Hae-yeong. His confrontation with Bok Gi-un and the revelations about Bok Gi-ho’s involvement introduce a darker undertone to the narrative, hinting at the deeper conspiracies at play.
Adding a heartwarming touch, Ji-uk’s volunteer work at an orphanage shows a softer, more human side to his character, contrasting his otherwise cold and calculated demeanor in the corporate world. This duality in his personality is what makes Ji-uk such an interesting character to watch.
The episode ends on a comedic yet awkward note with Hae-yeong, Ji-uk, and Woo-jae waking up in the same bed after a night of drinking. This unexpected situation brings a light-hearted, humorous touch to an otherwise emotionally intense episode, setting up the drama for future complications.
Overall, episode 6 of No Gain, No Love delivers a rich blend of drama, romance, and humor, keeping viewers engaged with the evolving relationships and the high-stakes business world that surrounds the characters.
