Lee Gun is kidnapped and all those involved are killed by Moo Baek. He then asks Myung hoon for her maid Oh wol but she gives an excuse that Oh wol went to the clinic to get her drugs for her indigestion when in reality, she had secretly gone to meet people who would help Myung hoon escape. Myung hoon begs Moo Baek for help even calling him her brother but he cautions her against it, saying calling him that is an abomination that could cost him his life.
When Oh wol returns, Moo Baek takes her to Lord Choi, the royal physician who gives her a medicine to put in Myung hoon’s drink, to make her sleep. Oh wol reluctantly does this and soon enough, Myung hoon faints. Soon we see her in a traditional wedding dress lying next to Lee Gun who is tied up and his eyes covered with a cloth. It turns out this was the directive of the seer to lift Myung hoon’s curse by marrying her to a stranger. Her curse would be lifted as long as the man doesn’t see her face before cock crow.
However, Myung hoon wakes up and finds out what is happening. She and Oh wol decide to take the man away but Oh wol warns her that the man must not see her face. They exchange clothes and Myung hoon wakes Lee Gun by pouring water on his body. The noise distracts Moo Baek who is keeping watch outside. He suddenly recieves word from a servant that someone is here to see Lord Choi.
It’s Gap seok and he tells him that the crown prince had gone missing at a tavern. Judging from the descriptions, Lord Choi realises that they had mistaken the crown prince for an ordinary man and kidnapped him. He maintains his calm and promises to look into the situation before sending Gap seok away. Moo Baek asks what they should do but Lord Choi tells him to wait until cock crow.
Meanwhile, Lee Gun is fully conscious now and Myung hoon pretending she’s a maid explains he was brought to lift her mistress curse. She warns him against removing the blind fold or else he would die. She helps Lee Gun leave the room but in the process, he trips and in the process, mistakenly feels her womanly curves. Myung hoon panics and twists his arm warning him against repeating the mistake. They manage to climb the fence of the house using a ladder. Oh wol runs back inside and Lord Choi sees her thinking she’s Myung hoon because of the wedding dress. He knows she helped the prince escape and decides not to bother her until morning.
Meanwhile, the news of Lee Sung’s disappearance shakes the palace especially the queen dowager who has discovered Lee Gun knows her secret. Myung hoon leads Lee Gun through the forest refusing to carry him on her back when he asks because she thinks he’s trying to trick her. Myung Hoon meets with the leader of the thugs she had drank with. He gives her a weak looking horse she had paid him for and while they are talking, Lee Gun secretly tries to see her face. They start their journey and in the morning, the horse gets tired so they climb down. Myung hoon discovers that Lee Gun is deeply injured in his foot and when she asks why he didn’t tell her, he says it was the reason he wanted her to carry him. Myung hoon feels guilty and starts wrapping his leg with a torn cloth. Since it’s morning, she gives him permission to remove the blind fold. When he does, he’s instantly amazed by her beauty and doesn’t hesitate in telling her. Still thinking she’s a maid, he tells her he wonders how her mistress must look if she can look this beautiful. He later faints and when Myung hoon checks him up, she finds that he has a broken rib. She immediately feels for him knowing he must have been in so much pain the entire time. She then notices the needle canister with him and thinks he’s a physician.
The king orders the entire officers to search for the crown prince and while they are all leaving, the magistrate insults Lee Gun saying he must have been to a gisaeng house. Lord Choi who overhears him warns him against speaking blasphemy against the crown prince. Lee Gun wakes up and Myung hoon gives him the needle canister. He grabs it from her and Myung hoon figures it must be important. She starts treating his leg with crushed medicinal plants while Lee Gun teases her by asking her to call him husband since he married her mistress but Myung hoon stubbornly refuses.
Meanwhile, Prince Dosung’s grandfather tries to spoil the minds of him and his mother the queen by saying they should depose Lee Gun. If he happens to become king and his late mother’s family the Namin, seizes power again, Dosung would suffer the same fate as the deposed king but Dosung and the queen refuses to hear him. The queen had always treated Lee Gun as her own son so she doesn’t believe he would do such a thing to her and Dosung but her father says she never can tell. Dosung, unable to bear his grandfather’s words angrily leaves to search for Lee Gun.
Myung hoon is surprised when Lee Gun makes her stop at the palace. Fearing that her father would discover what she had done, she begs him not to go to the palace but Lee Gun insists and gets suspicious, thinking she’s hiding something from him. Myung hoon denies it. However, she tells him that if anything were to happen to him, she would be waiting outside the palace for him.
Lee Gun enters the palace and when Queen Dowager discovers he’s back. She immediately goes to the king and orders him to depose Lee Gun for seeing and hearing something he shouldn’t. The king refuses and she reminds him she was the one who made him king by killing the former one after he had her locked up for ten years. She shows her authority when no one answers the king after he orders her to be taken away. She then threatens him, asking him to choose between the throne or his son. The king requests time to think but she says she can’t wait long.
As she leaves, she runs into Lee Gun who attacks her for being shameless by having an affair and for trying to kill him. Queen Dowager admits that she’s indeed ready to kill anyone who stands in her way and tells him that the safety of the king, Dosung and the queen depends on his silence. Lee Gun tells his father of the affair adding that they should try and find her lover first but the king is skeptical because he trusts no one. Lee Gun suggests they get Lord Choi’s help as he would assist since he’ll be marrying his daughter.
The king agrees and under the guise of treating him, Lee Gun asks Lord Choi to help him find the owner of the needle canister without divulging the full details. Lord Choi agrees to help but that night, Lee Gun is attacked in the room by some Eunuchs trying to kill him. He tries to escape but his personal Eunuch betrays him by stabbing him in the stomach. He apologises tearily to Lee Gun, watching as he bleeds out. The episode ends.
