Lord Choi is immediately rushed to the hospital where he is being attended to. The Queen Dowager is so enraged by what happened that everyone knows all hell would be let loose.
Out of fear, Dosung goes to her chamber to placate her to forgive his father but she doesn’t want to hear him especially since Lord Choi is still struggling for his life. She vows to unleash her full wrath on his grandfather should anything happen to Lord Choi.
Seeing that he can’t reach the Queen Dowager, Dosung secretly asks help from her court lady and she agrees to assist in talking to the queen dowager only if he finds the royal seal and return it to the queen dowager.
Meanwhile, Lee Gun secretly meets with two of his grandfather’s former students who promises him their loyalty. He and Gap seok then visit Sang Soo his eunuch who has fully recovered at a shabby house. He asks about his father and Sang Soo replies that the physician who recently treated him would know the condition of his father.
The next day, they meet the Physician but he’s already planning to run away out of fear. They threaten him and he tells them that his father was poisoned so surely the one who poisoned him would have the antidote.
Lord Choi has recovered so Dosung goes to him to apologise for what happened but Lord Choi is angry. He says that if it were against him, he would have forgiven his grandfather but for the fact that he targeted the Queen dowager, that is something he wouldn’t be able to forgive unless he steps down from his position and enters retirement. He also tells him to inform his grandfather that he has his grandmother’s slave document.
Dosung is shocked by this revelation. He goes into his room filled with tears as he stares at the crown prince outfit, knowing he doesn’t deserve it. Meanwhile, Lee Gun disguises himself as a thief and sneaks into Lord Choi’s residence to search for that antidote bit he’s unable to find anything. Just as he’s leaving, he catches sight of Myung Yoon through a crack on the wall and stares at her with a solemn expression as she looks lost in thought.
Meanwhile, the Queen dowager visits Lord Choi who is getting ready to leave the hospital. She wraps her arms around him, glad that he is safe. She promises that from now on, she would protect him. She then goes on a rampage against Lord Choi’s supporters by removing all of them from their positions. She also announces that Lord Choi’s daughter and the crown prince would be married on the day of his installation. Dosung later comes to Left state councillor to persuade him to retire. Left state councillor refuses, reiterating that he would be in danger once he is gone but his resolve weakens when he reveals that his grandmother is a slave.
Left state councillor tries to convince the queen to talk to Dosung but she refuses to change his mind. Meanwhile, Myung Yoon arrives at the palace infirmary to check on her father and he informs her of her impending marriage to prince Dosung on the day of his installation as Crown Prince. She is made to stay at an old room in the palace so that she wouldn’t escape.
Lee Gun learns from the scholars that left state councillor has resigned from his position and that Dosung would be marrying Myung Yoon. Gap seok is upset at the marriage but he’s still unaware that Myung Yoon, the maid is actually Lord Choi’s daughter. Soon enough, Sang Soo arrives with a court maid from the palace, Sun ok the woman who anonymously told him about the Queen dowager’s affair. She reveals that the reason why she’s helping out is to get revenge on the death of one of their child maid. She then reveals a shocking secret, that the royal taster who had poisoned the king was actually alive.
That night, Lee Gun and Gap seok go to the royal taster’s grave. Lee Gun digs it up and finds that the coffin is empty. There is no body. He then goes to the royal funeral planner who explains how they must have secretly smuggled her away from the palace by hiding her amongst a dead body. Lee Gun and Gap seok search her residence but they are not able to find her. At their house, they ponder over what to do. Lee Gun then decides to get help from an unlikely person, left state councillor. He happens to have his grandmother’s slave document and one night, he sneaks into his house providing him with the document in exchange for his help.
Dosung is frustrated with all that’s happening and cries to his father begging him to wake up so he can put an end to all these problems. His father turns out to be conscious and hears his cries but he’s unable to move his body. That night, Dosung secretly summons Myung Yoon to his chamber. She reveals that she has no intention to marry him. Dosung feels the same way. Although he still likes her, he would only marry her if she had feelings for him. (For now, this guy is my favorite character)
He then requests her help to treat his father based on his brother’s recommendations. Myung Yoon is surprised to hear the king is sick and has no confidence to cure him but Dosung tells her that to save Lee Gun, his father has to wake up.
Myung Yoon accepts and they plan to get her to the king’s chambers secretly. But they are worried about the head eunuch who is a spy for the queen dowager. To distract him, Prince Dosung then asks him to help with his wedding fitting. With the coast clear, Myung Yoon sees the king and begins treating him. But just then, Lord Choi enters his chamber and she hides. After checking to see if anyone is around, he then checks on the king and notices he is conscious. He tells him to open his eyes and stop pretending. The king does and Myung Yoon watches in horror as her father poisons him again. The end.
