A year before, Sun Jae had dug up the urn before they started construction on the house then a year later exactly on January 1st 2023 he waited for Sol but she didn’t show up. His manager who saw him asked why he was waiting.
After telling him, his manager says he shouldn’t bother because the woman doesn’t like him enough to remember their date. Articles of him standing on the bridge circulate so Sun Jae goes home. He opens the urn and inside it are hand written notes from Sol, thanking him for being alive. There is also an old clock that has stopped working but Sun Jae keeps with great care.
However, the man who had caused Sol’s phone to fall at the concert venue turns out to be her kidnapper.
Now they have met again and Sol stuns Sun Jae by asking him to spend the night with her. To his manager’s shock, he agrees and they both leave in her car. Inside, they make small talk and when Sol asks him, where they are going, she is shocked that it’s a hotel. Her mind starts going in different places and she tells Sun Jae he misunderstood her intentions. She didn’t really want to spend a passionate night with him but it turns out that she also misunderstood his intentions. He was only taking her to the hotel’s bar.
Sol feels like dying out of embarrassment. Alone in the bar, Sun Jae asks Sol why she finally decided to visit him. She replies that she wanted them to clear their recent misunderstanding. Sun Jae isn’t satisfied with the reply and asks if it isn’t because of the urn. He lies that he didn’t come to meet her that day . Likewise Sol. All of a sudden, he gets a call from In hyuk teasing him that reporters saw him with a woman at a hotel. He asks who she is but Sun Jae refuses to tell him. Sun Jae decides that they should leave. Sol tries to keep him with her but he insists on leaving to avoid a scandal.
He goes out first and while Sol starts to leave, she sees a hotel staff wheeling some umbrellas away and gets an idea. With her face covered, she covers her and Sun Jae leaving no room for them to be photographed by the reporters. She pushes his manager out of their way and takes him to her car. She helps him put on his seat belt, their faces in close proximity before driving away with him.
Sun Jae tells her she’s acting like a kidnapper and is surprised when she stops stop at is house and uses an excuse of being pressed to let herself in. Meanwhile, Sun jae’s manager tells In hyuk about a woman bugging Sun Jae to spend the night with him. In hyuk is happy about it but then remembers that he put a sexy female game character figure in his apartment which is from a game he’s endorsing.
Sure enough, Sun Jae enters and grows apalled the minute he sees it. Before Sol can notice, he forces her into the bathroom and hides the figure under his blanket. He changes and comes back to the living room only to over hear Sol who is still in the bathroom telling her mother she would be spending the night with a man. Sun Jae can’t believe his ears as his imagination starts running wild and Sol’s words keeps echoing in his head.
Sol looks for an opportunity to stay longer in Sun jae’s house by asking him to show her around which he does. Then she mistakenly pricks her hand on a thorn out of nervousness and Sun Jae gets very concerned reminding Sol of how he used to be so caring towards her years ago. The tension sizzles between them until they awkwardly part and Sol tells Sun she’s hungry.
In that moment, In hyuk learns that the woman Sun jae’s with is Im Sol and he’s completely against it whining that he still hadn’t gotten over her and by now, Sun Jae would be doing everything to please her. Sure enough, Sun Jae is even cooking ramen for her and watches her eat with love in his eyes. As he’s washing the dishes, Sol pretends to sleep but catches Sun Jae watching her. He tells her to admit she wants to stay over but she should give him a reasonable reason why. Sol then says it’s because he would die and this doesn’t sit well with Sun Jae as he asks why she cared. Flustered, Sol mistakenly spills left over ramen on her clothes. So Sun Jae has to give her a spare top and let her change in his room.
But then, he remembers the urn is in his room and panics so after Sol changes, he makes her leave so he can hide it. But she suddenly returns and in the process, sees the sexy figure on Sun jae’s bed. Sun Jae, embarrassed tries to deny it’s his but Sol is fascinated. He tries covering it up with his blanket but she’s curious. They both end up tugging the blanket with each other and in the process, Sun Jae pulls Sol towards him and they find themselves up in a rather compromising situation, with both of them staring at each other.
However, the moment is ruined when In hyuk who is drunk enters the apartment and sees them. Sun Jae quickly hides Sol in his closet as he faces In hyuk who accuses him of being with a woman. He’s about to mention Sol but Sun Jae stops him replying that he didn’t see well because he’s drunk. In hyuk pulls off his clothes to bath much to Sun Jae’s frustration. He leaves for the bathroom but returns moments later yelling at Sun Jae. He shows him the picture of him and Sol. Then and there, he exposes him for still having feelings for Sol. He mentions how he always called her name whenever he got drunk and says he can’t understand why he can’t get over her when there are prettier girls all over him. At his age, over thirty, he still hasn’t dated properly because he can’t get over his first crush.
Filled with embarrassment, Sun Jae carries In hyuk and dumps him into the bath to stop him from talking but when he returns to the room, he finds Sol with the urn.
The drive to Sol’s apartment is awkward. Sun Jae suddenly seems cold as he remembers how Sol refused to see him again because he reminded her of the kidnapping incident. He drops her off in front of her apartment building but as he’s leaving, Sol confesses she came during their arranged date although she was late. She then finally expresses her true feelings with tears in her eyes as she admits she is in love with him and misses him all the time they were apart but had no choice but to reject him due to their circumstances.
She tells him to leave to avoid been seen and enters her apartment but before she closes the door, Sun Jae stops her and asks her if she really had the same feelings he did all those years ago. She nods and as soon as the door closes, they kiss…really passionately. (Finally…it took us eight episodes to get here)
But their romantic moment regrettably comes to an end when the repair man arrives to fix a leaking tap. He doesn’t buy it when she lies Sun Jae is her brother. After finally relaying their feelings to each other, both are giddy the whole day as they think of their new relationship. Later, Sol’s mother calls her to speak with Hyun ju who was planning to divorce her brother for investing in a failed business. But when Sol meets her, it’s rather the opposite. Hyun ju says she understands Geum because they’ve been struggling a lot especially with the new baby. She had gotten married without having a job so things were a bit tough. Sol asks of she would change anything if she were to go back to the past but Hyun ju replies that she wouldn’t because she may not be able to have her children.
Sol and Sun Jae talk lovey dovey on phone and plan to meet that night. Although, she has to turn off her phone because he kept texting her and disrupting her work. That night, she remembers she left her car at Sun jae’s place. She also remembers she forgot to switch on her phone so immediately she does, she calls him but he’s taking a shower and so doesn’t pick up.
Sol then enters her car but suddenly, she gets scared upon seeing someone that resembled her kidnapper. The man had nearly hit someone who turned out to be Sun jae’s stalker. The girl runs off due to security but Sol chases after her and catches her. When Sol sees her face, she’s surprised.. she’s only a teenager.
Meanwhile, Sun Jae who has been calling Sol suddenly hears the door bell ringing which is weird. Sol takes the stalker to eat at a restaurant and scolds her for stalking Sun Jae. She learns that the girl has not been home in a month and as they are discussing, a shocking news comes up on the TV. Sun Jae had been attacked by Mr Kim, a prisoner who was released few days ago. Sol recognizes the man as her kidnapper and watches in complete horror as Sun Jae is taken to the hospital. The episode ends.
