On their way back to the cab, Sol asks Sun Jae if they had met before and he replies that they have. She had mistook him for a courier on the first day he moved into the neighborhood. Sol feels mixed emotions realizing that he was so nearby this whole time but she never knew. She hopes that now she will be able to make up for it. The next day, she calls Sun Jae’s name loudly, waking him up just to show him the rainbow. When he says he can’t see the rainbow, she starts spraying water over the sky but all Sun Jae can see is her. Her mother appears scolding Sol for wasting water. During the scuffle, Sol’s pink bra mistakenly flies over to Sun Jae’s side. He is immediately embarrassed.
Sun Jae gives it back to her the next morning, packaged in a paper bag. Sol, embarrassed, lies that it belongs to her grandmother. (Yeah right) Sun Jae says he doesn’t care and leaves. Sol follows him to thank him again for saving her. Later, she presents him an urn describing it as a Time capsule. They bury it in the ground and Sol makes him promise not to dig it out until January 1st 2023 where they would meet in Hangang bridge. January 1st is the day of his death. Sun Jae gets unhappy when she says that they might not keep in touch but at that time, they would meet as good friends. He tells her he doesn’t want to be her friend and leaves after recalling what In hyuk told him, that Tae Seong doesn’t really love Sol and had only dated her to get a girl off his back.
Sol follows him but when she hears that there is a uniform inspection, she panics because she’s not with her tie. But Sun Jae gives her his own and a moment passes between them as they stare at each other. Tae Seong, who is passing by at that moment, sees them and gets jealous. While he and Sun Jae are serving their punishment for being without their ties by running, the tension between them is high as they compete. Sun Jae wins and while they are washing their faces, Tae Seong sprays water on Sun Jae to annoy him. They glare at each other before Sun Jae leaves. Tae Seong’s friend notices their dynamic and points out that he really likes Sol for him to get triggered over Sun Jae.
Sun Jae is returning home. His father who was watching a swimming competition goes through hoops to put it off so Seong Jae wouldn’t see it and get upset. Sol invites Sun jae to a movie the next day to thank him. She sees videos of a popular swimmer Park Tae Hwan everywhere and tries to prevent Seong Jae from seeing them, creating tense moments between them each time. They finally arrive at the movie theater and are about to settle down to watchbit when a fire alarm goes off. As everyone is evacuating, Sol catches Sun jae already viewing Park Tae Hwan’s swimming where he wins that gold medal. He has mixed reactions on his face as Sol watches him.
They sit down together and Sun jae tells Sol he understands why she and his father are trying to prevent him from seeing swimming, thinking he would feel bad. He admits he does miss swimming but says he feels better now. On their way home, Sol and Sun Jae spot Sol’s mother with a man. They quickly hide so she doesn’t see them. Sol even ends up balancing on top of Sun jae’s head just to prevent her Mom from seeing her (What dedication). When Sun jae gets home, he catches his father watching Park Tae Hwan’s swimming competition but hides it from him. He tells his father not to worry about him and that he’s truly fine now.
That day, Sol gets a call from the police that her wallet which she lost during the lake incident has been found but her phone is still missing. When she arrives at the station to collect her wallet, somehow, she learns that a corpse had been found in that very lake. She calls her phone using the station’s telephone. Someone picks up and then cuts the line. Curious to know what happened, Sol goes to the bridge where the lake is underneath. A large group of people are gathered talking about the incident. Suddenly, Sol hears the jangling of keys and it triggers a memory of the future when she was kidnapped. The man with the jingling keys enters his taxi and drives away from that scene. He then brings out Sol’s phone and watches the screen picture of her. (He’s a pervert)
Sol and her mother go to the market in preparation for her late father’s memorial. Sol tells her that she should remarry, find a man who loves her but her mother thinks she’s delusional. Meanwhile, Sun Jae meets Sol’s brother Geum at a shop, enjoying a powerlifting contest where a female athlete wins a gold model and breaks records. They even hold hands out of excitement. However, Geum suddenly recognizes Sun jae as the boy who brought Sol home drunk (The night when Sun jae confessed to Sol that he liked her)
He starts punishing Seong jae with military exercises. He then asks if he’s Sol’s boyfriend. Sun Jae says he isn’t yet and says it’s someone else. Geum gets happy when he knows it’s Tae Seong. He admires him for putting out the fire in their house and says he’s handsome and dresses well. This annoys Sun jae and he refuses Geum’s punishment. Sol and her mother who are returning from the market see them and Sol defends Seong Jae from Geum’s bullying. Their mother then smacks them both in the back and drags them away to prepare for their father’s memorial. Before she leaves, Sol waves at Sun Jae.
That night, seething with jealousy towards Tae Seong, Sun jae can’t stop himself from viewing his profile. But when he is suddenly congratulated as the 100,000th visitor, Sun Jae dies of embarrassment knowing Tae Seong is now aware he had checked out his profile. Meanwhile, Tae Seong is at a games center smiling to himself after seeing Sun jae check out his profile. While in the midst of girls fawning over him, he remembers Sun jae and Sol together and frowns. He calls her number but it’s switched off. In hyuk suddenly calls him to practice together but he refuses to come. Meanwhile, In hyuk is having a hard time with his nerdish vocalist who has a terrible voice. He starts to wonder if he can bring Sun Jae to the band.
Sol and Geum pay their respects to their late father during the memorial service. Sol silently asks her father for help in saving her and Sun Jae. That night, Sol learns to ride a bicycle, something her father wanted. Sun Jae joins her and he teaches her. At first he’s impatient as she keeps failing. The two bicker and Sol pouts that she only listens to compliments so Sun Jae changes strategy and soon enough, she gets the hang of it and Sol is so excited at creating this new memory with Sun Jae now that she still has her legs.
At a study hall in preparation for their upcoming Csat, the next day, Hyun ju is unable to forget Geum whom she has started falling for. She drags Sol to the boutique where they run into Tae Seong who invites Sol to see his band play. Meanwhile, Sun Jae and In hyuk go shopping. Immediately he sees the outfit Tae Seong usually wears, he’s reminded of him and buys it much to In hyuk’s surprise. Sol, Hyun ju and Tae Seong run into him and the tension is immense because Tae Seong and Sun Jae are wearing the same clothes. They all sit down to have a drink but Tae Seong tries to get Sun Jae jealous by doting on Sol while Hyun ju tries flirting with Sun Jae but he doesn’t pay her any attention. Meanwhile, Sol is somewhat unsettled when Hyun ju constantly flirts with Sun Jae.
The bands start performing at the concert . In hyuk delivers bad news to Tae Seong and other band member while waiting for their turn. Their vocalist cannot make it because his mother refused to let him attend. With no other option, In hyuk calls Sun Jae. Sol arrives at the concert looking for Sun Jae who suddenly disappeared. She’s surprised to suddenly see him on stage with Tae Seong and In hyuk singing. Sol is left with mixed emotions as she watches him with tears in her eyes remembering how brightly he shined as a star only for his light to dim when he died.
While performing, Tae Seong isn’t happy when he notices Sol’s attention is only on Sun Jae. After the concert, Sol sees Sun Jae speaking with Mr Kim. She falls in a bid to reach him, ignoring Tae Seong’s hand when he tries to help her up. Sol waits for Sun Jae in front of his house that night. When he arrives, she asks him if he accepted Mr Kim’s offer to debut but he replies that he refused him. He suddenly gives Sol a brand new phone, a gift he got in exchange for singing but Sol gets mad at him, telling him he didn’t ask her to care about him. She stresses that he should not care about people or take their words to heart because he’s the type to endure without telling others he’s struggling. He’ll suffer to the point that he can’t sleep until he eventually loses himself. She tells him to be selfish, thinking only about his happiness. (She’s referring to his suicide)
Although he can’t understand what she’s saying, Sun Jae asks her if she’s sure of what she’s saying. She says she is and annoyed, he tells her to do whatever she wants with the phone. Both separate feeling sad.
However, the next day, Sun Jae chases after Sol who just arrived in school but is suddenly hit with the recording from that night while listening to music. She desperately tries to get rid of it when Sun Jae suddenly appears before her right as she’s about to cross the road. He tells her he’s going to be selfish from now on and asks her to break up with Tae Seong. At that moment, Sol hears Sun Jae in the recording, telling her he likes her. She freezes in shock and the episode ends. Thanks for reading.
