After lecture, Taichi tries to avoid Maya but it doesn’t work because she ends up catching him and Kouhei hiding. The three sit down to eat together and Taichi learns that Kouhei is taking a professional course in preparation for his graduation. Later, he learns that his friend Yasu got a director award for his movie. Taichi soon begins to believe that everyone else has plans for their future except for him. Meanwhile, Maya quickly begins to put two and two together after noticing the way Kouhei cares so much for Taichi. He talks about him all the time with so much affection.
Maya then asks him what he would do when Taichi eventually moves on with his life. Kouhei becomes concerned after hearing this.
Meanwhile, Taichi is strolling on the streets, thinking about his future when he collides into an old man. The man’s things fall to the ground and Taichi notices it’s books on sign language. He helps the man gather his things to where he works. It’s a company that deals with sign language for deaf people. He introduces himself as Mr Sai the CEO and there’s Chiba, his hot-tempered assistant who doesn’t seem to like Taichi very much.
Sai explains that his company only predominantly csters to those who have been deaf from the beginning. Hearing this upsets Taichi as he feels that there should be a way to cater to everyone, even those who weren’t born deaf but have hearing disabilities. Seeing his passion, Sai offers him a job working as an intern in his company. This surprises both him and Chiba.
Taichi starts working under the supervision of Chiba who is quite strict. But Mr Sai is very understanding. As a result of working too many jobs, Taichi starts dozing off at school. He doesn’t seem to eat much and Kouhei immediately notices and asks him what’s wrong. Taichi only replies that it’s due to working so many jobs. He doesn’t tell him about the sign language job he got.
Taichi slowly gets impressed with Chiba’s work ethic even though they are so different. He tells this to Mr Sai, along with his uncertainty for the future. To his surprise, Mr Sai offers him a full time working position at his company.
Taichi then asks Kouhei how he feels about him dropping out of school because he has found out what he wants to do with his life. He takes it as a joke but not Kouhei as he recalls Maya’s words about Taichi leaving him someday. So he tells Taichi to do whatever he wants and that he would be fine without him. To his surprise, Taichi gets hurt by his statement. He even cries and storms off. He walks past his friends who are surprised that he didn’t see them.
When Taichi gets home, he asks his grandfather how he would feel if he leaves school but his grandfather believes he should do what he wants. When he tells him he had a fight with his friend over this, his grandfather reminds him that he will never be with that friend forever and should do what he wants.
Meanwhile, Kouhei registers to get another note taker. On his way back with Maya, he expresses if he would be able to get along well with the note taker like he did with Taichi. This triggers Maya and she finally asks him if he likes Taichi. Kouhei admits it but says it’s an unrequited love.
This upsets Maya who wonders why he would choose a loud rude person like Taichi but Kouhei explains that Taichi makes him want to stay the way he is without changing himself or wishing to be better. He feels glad that he met him and tells himself he wishes they have more time together. The episode ends with Chapter meeting a staff to talk about the procedure for dropping out of college.
