Moon Yeong’s mother in law and father in law arrive at the accident site wailing as soon as they see their son’s corpse. At the hospital, the police officers suggest an autopsy be done on his body but her mother in law rejects it mostly because she can’t bear to see her son’s body get more disfigured but Moon Yeong wants an autopsy, unable to believe that her husband committed suicide but her father in law tells her he had written a suicide note.
Moon Yeong talks to lieutenant Baek blaming him for not looking for her husband when she made the missing person report but Baek reminds her that the police have rules. She of all people who is stickler for rules should know that. As they are talking, her mother in law suddenly approaches Moon Yeong and slaps her for suggesting the autopsy. She tells her she cannot carry out an autopsy if she cannot bear to face his corpse. Amidst protests, she forces Moon Yeong to where her husband Soon Yeong’s corpse is. As Moon Young nears his body, she is reminded of the time she had to identify her father’s corpse. Just as she lifts up the cover, she collapses.
Soon, she wakes up in the hospital with her friend Shin hwa beside her but immediately heads to the hospital when she finds out that her husband is already getting cremated but she’s unable to stop them. She notices Bom there already and breaks down even more. Meanwhile, Do jin woo watches the family, recalling that Miss Kim is also dead after encountering a car accident.
After the cremation, Moon Yeong reads Soon Yeong’s suicide note where he apologised for his cowardice. He pleads with her to protect Bom. On their way home, Bom asks Moon Yeong if her father really died and abandoned them but Moon Yeong hugs her tight trying to convince her that her father wasn’t that kind of person.
After tucking Bom into bed that night, Moon Yeong is unable to sleep, burdened by her husband’s memories. She stays awake till the following morning. Shin hwa visits with food for her and Bom hoping to cheer them up but the atmosphere is very sad. To Shin hwa’s surprise, Moon Yeong decides to begin work hoping to fix things and find out what really happened to her husband.
Miss Go and her assistant are surprised to see her at the law firm. She begins work immediately feeling weighed down by numerous unpaid bills when Ms Go suddenly enters her office to inform her that Miss Kim died from a car accident. As a result, the lawsuit has been canceled. Moon yeong is suspicious after learning that Ms Kim’s company Geumshin handled her burial. She instructs her assistant to investigate her home. Coincidentally, Do Jin woo also comes to Miss Kim’s apartment. The assistant notices his figure and starts chasing him out of curiosity but he isn’t able to catch up to him. He suddenly calls Moon Yeong and tells him he saw Do Jin woo. Moon Yeong’s suspicion heightens.
She meets with chairman Mo in his office but catches him assaulting his assistant who exits in other to leave them alone. She immediately confronts him about Miss kim’s death and he responded that it was good she died and that now, he just wants to compensate the victim from the land issue but Moon Yeong believes he has a lot to hide and is determined to find that out but Chairman Mo strangles her, whispering that if she knew the kind of person her husband really was, she would want to kill him with her bare hands.
He leaves her in the office and when he enters the elevator, he talks to a strange woman on phone telling her he would take care of everything. (Definitely his boss)
While Moon Yeong is leaving the office, she notices a big picture on the wall with her husband and the judge who had ruled the case side by side. It’s clearly obvious the judge was bribed. Moon Yeong then tries to meet with Do Jin woo at his place but she misses him as he drives off in a motorcycle but when she falls, he reconsiders and returns to help her up. (Makes one wonder if he’s really a bad guy) Do jin woo waits for her outside the hospital but as soon as Moon Yeong gets out, she begins to barrage him with questions before finally asking if he murdered Ms Kim and her husband. Do jin woo is angered by her question and simply replies that he has killed before which is why he never wants to kill again. He leaves on his bike unaware that he’s been followed.
At Shin hwa’s office, she shows Moon Yeong evidence that her husband owed not only the bank but private institutions money. She wonders how Moon Yeong would be able to pull through all these debts. After picking Bom from her grandparents, Moon Yeong heads home only to see a package at her door. She takes it inside and opens it, surprised to see it’s a pair of new heels and a note from her husband thanking her for everything and requesting her to sort out his shoes in his cabinet. Moon Yeong wastes no time and looks through his cabinet only to be struck speechless at the sight of bundles of money stored inside shoe packs along with death insurance documents which will leave her plenty of money. Moon Yeong now realises why Soon jae committed suicide and she cries heavily.
In the next scene, Do jin woo is beaten up by chairman Ma. Do jin woo asks him what really happened to Song jae but he only gets beaten up more as the Chairman asks him what happened to the money he and Song jae stole from him. During the scuffle, a pendant rolls off Do jin woo and he looks at it longingly as he is been beaten
Moon Yeong shows her father in law the insurance document but doesn’t tell him about the box of money. She wants to keep investigating her husband’s case refusing to believe he committed suicide just for money but her father in law cautions against it reminding her that Song jae is already dead. Besides, she could dig up something that could damage the family’s reputation. All the while, her mother in law is overhearing their conversation.
However her neighbor Yeon joo suddenly calls to let her know Bom is in the hospital. Moon Yeong rushes over, angry when she discovers that Bom had run into ongoing traffic. Seeing her state, Yeon joo talks to her in private telling her to take it easy with Bom because she too must be having a hard time.
At home, Moon Yeong apologizes to Bom for yelling at her and promises to care for her from then on. Bom reveals that she saw her father which was why she entered traffic to meet him. Moon Yeong understands that she must have been hallucinating and cautions her against doing that next time. That night, while watching Bom sleep, she resolves that she would start all over again for the sake of her daughter.
She starts sorting through her husband’s files only to find a document that showed he was Do jin woo’s lawyer in a deadly assault case. Moon Yeong goes to the office and confronts Ms Go for keeping something this important from her. She then sends Do jin woo a message pleading with him to tell her everything he knows in exchange for money. That night, she waits eagerly for his text until he finally sends her an address where they would meet up. Do jin woo is on the way to the address when a car suddenly crashes into his bike and he tumbles into a ditch. The driver of the car suddenly comes out and when Do jin woo sees his face, he’s shocked. The man brings out a shot gun and starts shooting at him, eventually shooting him at his back.
Meanwhile, Moon Yeong who is driving towards the meeting point stops her car when she hears gun shots. She gets out, horrified by what she’s hearing. We then see the face of the shooter. It’s Moon Yeong’s husband Song Jae.
