In the year 1998, a young Moon Yeong flees her home with her father to the country side. After a strange visit from a friend, her father comes to her room while she’s asleep and says that the only way she can survive is if he dies.
Fast Forward the year 2023, Moon Yeong is now a married woman with a daughter Bom.
One particular day, she prepares to leave home and has a drink with an old friend Shin hwa, a prosecutor who recently got divorced. While drinking, her friend points out a cheating couple but Moon Yeong thinks she’s exaggerating. Suddenly, she begins to feel dizzy. A group of young men suddenly appear to ask them out. That’s when Moon Yeong loses consciousness but when she wakes up, she finds herself at home. Everything seems normal as she watches her husband drive their daughter to school. She even meets her friendly neighbor Yeon joo, who gives her some porridge.
Moon Yeong still can’t remember how she returned home last night. She takes a nap but wakes up to a call from her husband’s paralegal Ms Go. She hasn’t been able to get in touch with her husband so she wants Moon Yeong to take his place in taking over a case. It’s about the death of a man who refused to sell his property to a real estate company. He was apparently run over by a female worker from that company. However, the twist is that she claims innocence and there’s a witness who saw the victim actually heading for her car.
Moon Young hurries to the law firm but falls down in her haste causing her papers and documents to fall over. But a jerk steps on her paper without even apologizing. Moon Yeong meets with the company CEO Chairman Man and the staff Ms Kim, she’s representing. It’s obvious they aren’t happy since her husband isn’t taking over the case. It turns out that the jerk who had stepped on her paper is actually the witness Do jin woo.
He dresses too casually for the trial so Moon Young suggests he exchanges clothes with her assistant and doesn’t care when it’s too small for him. (Pay back for his rudeness!!!) However, everyone is thrown in disarray when it’s discovered that Ms Kim has gone missing. The court decided to postpone the hearing to a month later but Ms Kim notices Chairman Man’s suspicious behavior as he leaves with his assistant and Do jin woo.
Moon Yeong and her partner are heading back to the firm when her partner discloses that her husband was uncomfortable taking the case. This heightens Moon Yeong’s suspicion that something is wrong but as she’s driving, she sees a figure resembling her husband driving a few meters away. She chases after the car but eventually misses it. Back at the firm, Moon Yeong starts calling her husband’s line but he doesn’t pick up. She calls everyone who knows him but there’s no information on his whereabouts or that of Ms Kim. Moon Yeong remembers that while driving, she had noticed a female figure in the car.
Her daughter Bom calls her to let her know her grandmother, Moon Yeong’s mother in law, had picked her up from school. Moon Yeong hurries home to tell her mother in law that her son is missing but she dismisses her claims as her being too presumptuous ever since her father traveled to Seol.
In the next scene, we see Ms Kim hurriedly packing her things in a panicked state when the chairman calls her cell to threaten her not to escape or else he would kill her.
Moon Young assures her daughter that her father would be coming home soon. Suddenly, she gets a call from her prosecutor friend Shin Hwa who told her that her husband picked her up that night when those men approached them. Moon Yeong fears that may be the reason for her husband’s silence. She goes out to her car to look through some footage when she notices Ms Kim outside but she disappears when Moon Yeong pursues her. Chairman Man’s secretary suddenly comes in at that moment asking for her husband. Moon Yeong is uncomfortable with his presence saying he should have called instead.
The next morning, Moon Yeong still has heard nothing. Her mother in law came back to the house worried that Moon Yeong had not been able to reach her son. Moon Yeong gets very uneasy upon seeing an accident in the news. Chairman Man even calls her to ask for her husband telling her that he is working many cases with her husband and cannot afford to not reach him.
Moon Yeong calls Ms Go only to hear that the office has been raided and destroyed. Moon Yeong rushes over but comes across an old nemesis Lieutenant Baek who is handling her case. The two have a bad history with each other as they both used to be prosecutors but she had reported him for something causing him to loose his job. She asks him to look for her missing husband.
Later, Moon Yeong gets a call from a bank telling her of a loan her husband had taken out. Ms Go tells her that her husband took out a loan of over three billion won because the firm wasn’ doing well. He hasn’t even paid his staff for three months. Moo Yeong is worried since his father had put him in charge of the firm. She promises to pay off the staff.
Later she gets into an argument with her mother in law on the phone for reporting her husband missing and causing unnecessary rumors to fly. Moon Yeong replies that she will find her husband. She calls Shinhwa to beg her to track her husband’s car and phone but Seon hwa refuses because it;’s illegal so Moon Yeong hangs up on her. Seol Hwa’s junior staff who overhears their conversation praises Moon Yeong because she’s a popular attorney whom everyone calls cinderella. Shin Hwa laughs at this knowing Moon Yeong’s real personality is far from cinderella. After hearing Moon Yeong is searching for her husband, one of Shin hwa’s staff tells her something disturbing.
Moon Yeong calls her neighbor Yeon joo toi help pick up her daughter. Thankfully, Bom would have been kidnapped by Do jin woo if Yeon Joo hadn’t arrived.
Just as Moon Yeong is leaving the firm, she gets a call from Ms Kim requesting to meet in private. Moon Yeong immediately meets with Ms Kim and she divulges how her husband and Chairman Man tried to make her take the fall for a crime she did not commit. Now, he had run away in order to avoid responsibility.
But when Ms Kim notices that someone followed Moon Yeong, she assumes she has been betrayed by her and drives off. However, the spy pursues her on a motorbike but Moon Yeong is able to overtake him and cause him to fall off his bike. The spy turns out to be Do jin woo and she asks him why he wanted to commit perjury by slandering Ms Kim in court but Do jin woo simply replies that she should ask her husband.
Just then, Moon Yeong gets a call from the police. Her husband’s id card was found at an accident site and they wanted her to identify his body. Moon Yeong arrives at the scene to see her husband’s burnt car that had fallen off a cliff. She sees his burnt ring over burnt flesh. All indications point that her husband’s corpse is the one being covered on the ground. The episode ends as Moon Yeong lifts up the cover to identify him.
