Episode 5 starts with Eun-kyung enterin the office to encounter a wave of gossip. Everyone is staring at her so she checks her phone, discovering the news report accusing her of having an office husband. She is stunned as all kinds of hate comments trail her.
It’s later revealed that Choi Sa-ra sowed the seeds of such an idea into Kim Ji-sang’s mind, convincing him that Woo Jin and Eun kyung had something going on before they did. Kim Ji sang then secretly met with a reporter at night to carry out the plan, telling him the false rumor about Eun kyung having a secret affair.
Choi So Ra then calls her lawyer Kang Sang ju telling him, she wants to file a cross counter.
The next morning, Eun kyung calls in Woo-jin to her office while everyone is staring and gossiping. She apologizes to him for getting him into an unnecessary scandal. But Woo Jin doesn’t want her apology. He wants to know what he can do to help her and asks if she’s worried about what their staff will say but Eun kyung is distracted and mistakenly breaks a vase. The two try to clean up the mess together but Eun kyung ends up cutting her hand.
It’s while Woo jin is trying to help her that Yu-ri arrives, finds them together, and questions them about their relationship, showing them the counterclaim filed by Choi Sa-ra, which made it appear as if both parties were partly guilty. Eun kyung is once again shocked.
The CEO calls Yu ri to his office and asks if she knows anything about Eun kyung and Woo Jin’s relationship. She supports the two, claiming that Eun kyung is only focused on work and earnings money for the law firm and that she only sees Woo Jin as a good friend. But the CEO advises her not to fully trust the two of them and to investigate.
Eun kyung is flustered when Yu ri summons her to the interrogation room where she questions her. She is angry that Yu ri suspects her but Yuri reminds her of the time when she had adviced her not to trust someone accused of cheating. Eun kyung then says her having an affair with Woo Jin is false. She angrily tells Eun kyung to look for ways to counteract the accusation instead of suspecting her.
While in her office, Woo Jin comes to talk to Yu ri while she’s scribbling on a glass board about the cheating couples. They go out to eat and Yu ri admits she’s awkward around Woo jin but he tells her there’s nothing to worry about. This riles Yu ri as she asks if she he isn’t concerned the rumors could damage Yu ri’s chances in court. But Woo jin understands telling her he called her to eat so they could plan their next course of action. But Yuri wants to know the true detail of their relationship.
In a flashback, he talks about how good Eun kyung was at winning a case for a woman divorcing her husband. The client couldn’t believe that a woman like her could do anything but she proved her wrong after only practicing law for three years. He was impressed and had the utmost respect for her since then. He took care of her whenever she was tired and busy. However, one day, she gave him an invitation to her wedding which shocked Woo jin as he was aware she was too busy to date but she reminded him of a blind date she had with a doctor three months ago and feels marrying him would be much better since she has no time to date. She doesn’t really know him but believes he can take care of her.
In the present, Woo jin tells Yu ri that despite being such a good lawyer, Eun kyung was bad judge of character. He tells her that Kim ji sang is only trying to bring her down and that she should help her. While he keeps reiterating that he only admires Eun-kyung and that Kim ji sang used that against him, Yu-ri can easily see through him and discover that he likes Eun-kyung. She suddenly advises him not to let anyone know he likes her which surprises Woo jin. He is in denial about his true feelings but Yu ri already knows. She advises him that although he deeply cares for Eun kyung, he should stand back and do nothing so as not to jeopardise her chances in court.
Yu ri overhears women gossiping in the bathroom. It seems they are all aware that it’s a rumor since everyone knows Woo jin has a one sided love for Eun Kyung. They decide to support him hoping things will work out well for him and Eun kyung.
Later, Kim Ji-sang is asked to leave his job. He feels bad as he reminisces over everything he gave up for his daughter. When Eun kyung returns from work, her daughter doesn’t even want to see her. Eun kyung wants to tell her about her divorce with her father but Jae hui who is already aware tells her they should talk tomorrow. She’s desperately missing her father.
Meanwhile, Kim ji sang and Choi so ra are eating a meal together. He talks about how married couples should always sit together to eat a meal but Eun kyung hardly did when they did, adding that she doesn’t deserve to be married. This makes Choi so ra happy as she hints that this was the first time he bad-mouthed Eun kyung. He had never done so before. They hope that after this scandal, she would want to settle the case.
In the following days, Choi Sa-ra meets with Yu-ri to suggest settling the case, adding that it would have the worst impact on Eun-kyung. However, Eun-kyung refuses to settle at all costs calling So ra shameless and cowardly for spreading the rumors just to stop people from talking about her. So ra warns her to think very well about what’s best for her client, determined to fight them until the end.
At her office, Yu ri informs Eun kyung she spoke with Choi so ra and urges Eun kyung to settle in order to avoid giving everything she has to Kim ji sang and hurting her daughter further but Eun kyung is determined not to settle.
Woo jin meets Eun kyung bringing her a cup of tea. She complains that Yu ri is very stubborn but Woo jin likes that she has the guts to speak her mind unlike how they were when they were young. He also tells her that he has cleared up the misunderstanding about their affair to Yu ri.
Yu-ri is then asked to visit a client in a remote area with Eun-ho. When she is told that Eun ho will be accompanying her, she adamantly refuses but the staff says that Eun ho had already agreed to go. Yu ri believes this is Eun kyung’s doing, branding her the queen of revenge.
When Yu ri finally meets Eun ho at the park, they keep mumbling their words when trying to talk to each other. Yu ri wants to go in her car but Eun ho suggests they go in his. It’s very tense between them as they drive off. After much wandering without reaching their destination, Yu ri worries that they may return late and wonders if there is a motel around. This jarrs their memory of their time sleeping together and both become very awkward. They decide to play music to ease the tension.
They finally arrive at the location and ask around for their client. While climbing a hill, Yu ri nearly falls but Eun ho catches her causing another round of awkwardness between them.
Meanwhile, the Ceo who is actually Woo jin’s father is angry at him for continuing to hang around Eun kyung considering the rumors. He wonders what he sees in her branding Eun kyung as the worst woman a man can have for a wife. He asks if he’s waiting for her to divorce so he can step in and accuses him of lashing out because he has no mother. Woo jin in turn looses his temper and tells his father that he has no right to tell him this. He should first of all look at himself. His father believes he may not inherit his company and Woo jin leaves in anger.
After a lot of searching, they finally meet the client only to find that she and her husband are no longer divorcing. They’d since then remarried and are very much in love. Still, they have to pay up since they divorced before. But the man is unhappy as he says that people hardly marry anymore and that the government should award them since nowadays, youngsters only pursue sexual relationships and don’t take responsibility. This immediately strikes a chord with Yu ri and Eun ho. The wife admits they can’t pay the company as the husband had gotten into debt. Yu ri realise that the couple had faked their divorce and they apologize for it. The woman explained she filed a divorce because she wanted to abandon her husband after he had gotten into debt and feels she should be punished for it. But the husband confesses he pushed her into it. The two then argue over who would take the fall with the wife choosing to follow her husband to prison. Eun ho begs them to stop showing affection feeling dissapointed to leave without getting their money.
As they are going, the wife stops Yu ri and gives her some yams and vegetable. It’s all she has and she tells her that she would rather go to prison than her husband. In her entire life, he’s the only one she has ever loved. Not a moment went by that she didn’t love him.
While they are leaving, Eun ho wants to file a lawsuit against the couple but Yu ri requests him not to pleading with him to let the management know there was no asset to seize from the couple. Eun ho is stunned over why she would do that and Yu ri explains it is the first time she has come across people who fought for their love. Although they decieve others, they never decieve each other. Eun ho is quite impressed by her.
While having dinner together, Yu ri is against them drinking beer but Eun-ho explains he has a plan and decides drink only water because he wants to take her home safely. While eating, Eun-ho suddenly tells her that it was his first time sleeping with a woman that night. Yu ri admits it was her first time as well. But before he can say anything else, she clarifies that they shouldn’t think too much about that night as she doesn’t want things to get awkward at work. She enjoys how things are between them currently. Eun ho realises they are different but regardless, tells her his mind. He proposes the idea of dating but Yu-ri is not ready for a relationship and is completely against getting married. She wants to find her place in her career first but Eun ho tries to make her see they can achieve it together but Yu ri doesn’t want them to talk about this topic anymore. Eun ho understands and decides to remain friends with her but lets her know that he likes her.
Overwhelmed, Yu ri makes an excuse and then leaves to go back home separately to create distance between herself and Eun-ho. At the train station, she is intrigued by a very old couple who seemingly are still in love as they wait to board the train together. She also thinks of her client’s love for her husband and all the divorce cases she has handled so far including Eun kyung’s husband’s affair. She remembers Eun ho’s confession and isn’t sure she will ever understand what love really is.
The next day, Yu-ri proposes to defeat Kim Ji-sang and Choi Sa-ra in their own game and proposes to release the news about Ji-sang being in a bigamous common-law marriage. She suggests using the same reporter who wrote the scandal about her. Eun kyung accepts it and Yu ri immediately meets with the reporter.
Before the article comes out, Jae hui and Eun kyung are having a quiet dinner when Jae hui reminds her mother of not attending her camp. She complains she should have come as she was the only one who had neither of her parents there. Eun kyung apologises, explaining she had something to do. She promises to come to her academy because she has something to tell her but Jae hui tells her not to come as she will be staying with her friend.
All hell breaks loose when the news about Kim Ji sang marrying two women breaks. Woo Jin is surprised when he arrives at work and everyone’s greeting him. He then learns of the scandal. On the drive to get court, Eun kyung tells Yu ri to steel herself for what is ahead. Her divorce is also a show and that she shouldn’t show her childish expression. Yu-ri explains what the term means when the two reach family court: “It’s having two families,” adds Yu-ri, where one of them is not protected by law.
The scene suddenly cuts to Eun-kyung searching for her daughter, who has been missing from her classes. She eventually finds her with Choi Sa-ra, who smirks at Eun-kyung’s anger.
