Good Partner Episode 13 Recap

Episode 13 starts with a scene from the past where Eun-kyung tells Yu-ri to stay outside a client’s home and contact the authorities if she doesn’t come back in 10 minutes, fearing domestic abuse.

Upon entering, Eun-kyung discovers the wife on the ground appearing lifeless, yet she briefly awakens and begs for assistance. The husband is upset that his wife is still alive and declines to ask for help. Not long after, the woman passes away.

Shocked and dismayed, Eun-kyung rejects helping the client any longer and declares they will no longer represent him. After noticing that Eun-kyung has become a witness, the man tries to murder her, but she is able to flee, just like his wife did before, shoeless and trembling.

Meanwhile, Yu-ri contacts the authorities, resulting in the man being taken into custody. Afterwards, she tells the police that she was the only one who saw it happen, wanting to defend Eun-kyung, a person in the public eye. Woo-jin comes to collect her afterwards.

After returning home, Eun-kyung is tormented by the man’s warnings of harming Jae-hui, leading her to become anxious about her daughter’s well-being.

The following day, reports emerge about the man being charged with murder, leading to the firm receiving criticism for representing a domestic abuser and killer. Yu-ri’s true identity is also exposed during the process.

During the court hearing, the man faces a charge of manslaughter instead of murder due to the prosecution’s insufficient evidence of intent. Eun-kyung is clearly disturbed by his appearance. Eun-kyung and Yu-ri are both very distressed, particularly when the mother of the wife expresses regret for not heeding her daughter’s words before her passing and cries. In court, she blames herself for her death and then collapses. Both Woo Jin and Eun ho endeavor to uplift Eun kyung and Yu ri in a respectful manner.

Later that evening, when Jae-hui is out singing karaoke with her friends and cannot be reached, Eun-kyung becomes anxious but eventually locates her unharmed and takes her back home. Jae-hui comforts Eun-kyung, advising her to have faith in her ability to make correct choices. This brings Eun-kyung comfort, making her determined to testify as a witness in the case.

In the meantime, Woo-jin becomes the CEO of Daejong and goes against his father’s desires by choosing to terminate the MOU with the medical foundation. While it may result in a monetary setback, Woo-jin prioritizes rectifying previous mistakes over financial gain, earning praise from Eun-kyung for his choices.

During the upcoming trial, Eun-kyung takes the stand as a witness, jeopardizing her career by testifying against her client. Despite facing criticism from the public, she shows proof that the man had the intention of murdering his wife, by announcing that she had secretly recorded their conversation using a spy pen before going inside the house.

Because of her statement, the man is found guilty of murder and given a 15-year prison sentence. At the same time, Yu-ri is speaking out against the unfair divorce laws that make it hard for victims to leave abusive marriages, with the law firm’s divorce team backing her up.

Thanks to Eun-kyung’s statement, Yu-ri’s demonstration, and her discussion on the matter in an interview, the legal company successfully repairs the negative impact on its public relations caused by the case.

At the end of the episode, Eun-kyung tells Yu-ri she’s quitting the company, leaving Yu-ri to manage her own cases.

We only have a couple more episodes remaining. Is it possible to add a touch of romance please?
