The 12th episode starts with Yu-ri going to the hospital to see Eun-kyung, where Jae-hui was being treated. Yu-ri stresses the importance of having Eun-kyung return to the office, which boosts Eun-kyung’s morale.
The CEO notifies Woo-jin the following day that he has started the process for Woo-jin to assume control of the company. Both parties sign a Memorandum of Understanding with a well-known medical organization, agreeing to enhance their partnership in business. The founder asks the law firm to manage his son’s divorce legal matters. The son believes his wife is submitting divorce lawsuits solely to blackmail him for money, but he is unwilling to end the marriage as he states he still loves her. In truth, the situation is actually reversed.
Because the CEO wants to dismiss Eun-kyung, he gives the VIP divorce case to Yu-ri instead of Eun-kyung, causing tension between them. Nevertheless, due to the CEO’s ultimatum to dismiss Eun-kyung, Yu-ri is compelled to comply with the outcome.
In the initial court proceeding, the man’s wife visibly shows fear of him and states she lacks evidence as her husband destroyed it all. Yu-ri becomes suspicious of her client’s story after encountering the woman in the restroom and observing her fear of water and a bald spot on her head, which she claims resulted from domestic violence.
Yu-ri asks her client about it, but he responds aggressively, saying he no longer wants to see her. Afterward, Yu-ri opens up to Eun-ho, confessing her guilt for potentially supporting a perpetrator. At the same time, the client asks Eun-kyung to represent him as his lawyer, and Woo-jin consents, enabling Eun-kyung to work on the case alongside Yu-ri.
While discussing, the wife reveals fresh proof: a recording of her husband mistreating her. Still, it is insufficient to sway the case in her favor, and she continues to be at a disadvantage. She begs the court for a divorce, stating that if not granted, her marriage will result in her demise. The jury demands a family inquiry, leading the client to become furious and make threats towards Eun-kyung and Yu-ri. Afterwards, Eun-kyung shares with Woo-jin that their client may engage in risky behavior, specifically because the wife needs solid proof of abuse to file for divorce.
It is uncovered that Eun-kyung clandestinely captured the client’s angry outburst and menacing remarks with a hidden camera pen she keeps. The CEO is informed about Yu-ri’s meeting with the customer and instructs Eun-kyung to go see the head of the medical foundation. While visiting, Eun-kyung finds out that Woo-jin is the son of the CEO, and she is upset that he didn’t tell her this in the 14 years they have been friends. She storms off in fury as Woo Jin attempts to talk to her.
The following day, the client goes to Eun-kyung’s office and menaces to murder his spouse. That night, the wife flees her home without shoes and pleads with her mother to allow her inside. Yet, her mother declines, stating that they will not welcome her back if she gets a divorce.
The husband comes and brings his wife to their house. In the late hours of the night, the man invites Eun-kyung to come to his house. Eun-kyung hurries to the house with Yu-ri, feeling that something unfortunate has happened to his wife. Discovering the wife on the ground, pleading for assistance, the husband callously expresses his disappointment that she is still alive. Eun-kyung is in a state of disbelief and the episode comes to a close.
The drama is dragging at this point. Give us something else to root for. The series shouldn’t be this long unless they have something else up their sleeves
