Crash Episode 11 Recap

Episode 11 starts with Commissioner Pyo expressing regret to the public for failing to properly raise his son. While driving back, he suddenly recognized that Lee Jung-sub was behind the wheel of his car. The TCI and Tae-ju also learn about him being kidnapped. Captain Jung visits the hospital searching for a female patient only to find out that she died two days ago. This is believed to be Lee Jung-sub’s wife.

The TCI discovers that Jung-sub is the kidnapper and chooses to track his phone. In the meantime, Commissioner Pyo attempts to convince Jung-sub of his innocence, but Jung-sub is aware of the truth. He desires to bring him to his demise. When Yeon-ho contacts Jung-sub, he answers the phone but declines to release Commissioner Pyo despite Yeon-ho’s requests.

Captain Jung has received their location and made his way to Jung-sub. Parking his car directly in front of Jung-sub, he causes Jung-sub to halt, enabling Commissioner Pyo to make a getaway. Captain Jung intervenes to prevent Jung-sub from physically attacking Commissioner Pyo, but he appears deeply upset when his close friend is ultimately arrested by the authorities.

During Jung-sub’s interrogation while in custody, Tae-ju escorts Commissioner Pyo from the hospital in a wheelchair doing this publicly to gain the people and media sympathy. Afterwards, Commissioner Pyo talks to his team about his son’s case. He discovers that Chairman Yang has sent a picture of the three boys in the vehicle, decisively showing that Jung-wook was driving.

However, Commissioner Pyo’s attorneys claim that they are able to find a solution.

The court trial starts with Kyung-soo being the first person to be questioned, but his testimony is compromised because he had previously borrowed money from Jung-wook.

In the office again, the TCI search for additional evidence. Yeon-ho remembers that a report showing the differences in tire marks was not found at Kim Min-sung’s house. Instead, they choose to search for the individual responsible for the report – a man called Jin Chang-wook. A scene from the past reveals that Commissioner Pyo had instructed Tae-ju to take the report from Min-sung’s home. Currently, Commissioner Pyo appears anxious upon learning that Chang-wook is being summoned as a witness from the United States.

So-hee and her companions meet Chang-wook at the airport. On the way, So-hee’s car is encircled by additional cars, presumably belonging to Commissioner Pyo’s associates. Hyun-kyung and Dong-gi leave the car, causing the gangsters to believe they have mistaken the vehicle. Somewhere else, So-hee is accompanying Chang-wook on the subway.

During the court proceedings, Commissioner Pyo passes a message to the prosecution. The prosecutor intends to summon Commissioner Pyo to testify. In a flashback, it is revealed that Tae-ju instructed Commissioner Pyo to release the report before the TCI and gain an advantage. He ought to present himself as someone who is ruthlessly fair, even when it comes to his own son.

Currently, Commissioner Pyo presents the tire report, stating that he received it without disclosing the source. Commissioner Pyo abandons his son and defends himself, stating that he is more than just a father, he is a public officer despite the strong accusations against him. This causes Jung-wook to burst into hysteria and confess everything.

Next, we witness a replay of the homicide. After murdering Hyun-soo, Jung-wook contacts his father, who instructs them all to claim they were just bystanders.

Currently, Jung-wook claims that his father intentionally concealed the report to help them avoid trouble. He is requesting a shorter prison term because he was underage when the crime was committed.

Currently, Tae-ju exits the courthouse and takes a flash drive from his pocket, examining it with contemplation.

Next up is Chang-wook, who discloses to the court that Commissioner Pyo requested the tire report as Chang-wook was preparing to leave for the US. In the end, it is revealed that Commissioner Pyo will face charges for manipulating evidence. Of course, the commissioner general is extremely angry.

In another place, a judge gets a letter with no name exposing further corrupt actions of Commissioner Pyo. The inspection team arrives at Commissioner Pyo’s office and starts to investigate. Tae-ju also shows up and confesses that he’s the person who betrayed Commissioner Pyo. So-hee is in a hospital, observing a news report regarding the letter and Commissioner Pyo’s arrest. Then, she’s summoned to her father’s presence as he has finally regained consciousness.

In court, Jung-wook was found guilty of murdering Hyun-soo and assaulting So-hee’s father. Because he testified against his father, he receives a 20-year prison term. Commissioner Pyo receives a 12-year prison sentence along with a substantial financial penalty. Chairman Yang receives a sentence of 10 years and 6 months. Next, Jung-sub goes to visit Kim Min-sung who is in prison. Jung-sub advises him to make sure he lives a good life since Hyun-soo is now resting in peace.

At the same time, Tae-ju is elevated to the position of Chief Superintendent. While leaving, he encounters So-hee and Yeon-ho. Rather than offering congratulations, So-hee mentions she is heading to investigate further into Commissioner Pyo’s corruption. Especially the unauthorized taxi situation surprises Tae-ju. After being by himself in his office, Tae-ju contacts someone and provides an update on the TCI.

Afterward, the TCI is disbanded and its members are reassigned to different departments. Chief Gu speaks to them but explains that he is unable to take action. They start packing their belongings, mourning their destiny. Everyone is inside except for Yeon-ho, who is on the rooftop.

So-hee goes to the upper floor and inquires Yeon-ho if he will manage since he is being transferred to a distant island. He promises to do it and expresses gratitude to So-hee for her assistance. She gives back the words of kindness. Yeon-ho guarantees he will collect her father from the hospital once he has come out from coma.

One year later, the scene changes. Yeon-ho is currently on duty at Hwapyeong Island, conducting patrols with a fellow officer. Yeon-ho scolds an elderly man for driving a farming vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Afterwards, he returns to his residence where he is living with a man and his young daughter. At night, he converses with his daughter. She inquires Yeon-ho about his companions.

Dong-gi is employed as an emergency dispatcher, Hyun-kyung as a traffic policeman, and So-hee is apprehending a reckless driver. After receiving a message, we find out that the TCI group plans to gather the following day.

On the island, a conflict erupts between the man that Yeon-ho is staying with because he’s the owner of a resort on the island. The island’s elderly residents gripe that the resorts deplete the island’s resources.

Later that night, the man entertains guests while his daughter Seunga heads out to celebrate her birthday. In the morning, Yeon-ho discovers the man feeling anxious as Seunga has not returned home. Before leaving for Seoul, Yeon-ho makes the choice to search for his daughter. He eventually discovers Seunga’s shoes near a cliff.

In Seoul, the TCI gather for a meal and talk about Yeon-ho’s absence because of the missing person investigation. Upon discovering that the island has just four security offices, a brilliant idea occurs to all of them.

Next, we witness their arrival on the island as they all disembark from a ship and warmly greet Yeon-ho. They will collaborate on solving the case. On a surveillance camera, they observe Seunga walking along her typical path. They scour the area and discover a fragment of a car’s bumper along with Seunga’s dangling phone. In the final scene, they come to the decision that a crash took place at that location.

Wow. The series is coming to an end but why are they still dragging it. It should have ended already.
