Connection Episode 7-8 Recaps

Jae-kyung’s assumption about Chang Soo was incorrect as he is actually protecting him. Upon discovering Jae-kyung right after he had ingested the pill from his colleague’s drawer, Chang-soo covered his tracks to assist him in evading suspicion. Chang-soo believes Jae-kyung is not at fault and is committed to justice, which is why he hasn’t reported him.

At the same time, Yoon Jin receives a business card from the person suing for medical negligence, which shows Jun seo’s job as a sales team manager at Keumhyung Pharmaceutical. Yoon-jin goes to Woonjong Medical Center to inquire about Jun seo as their sales contact, following the lead.

Jun seo’s employment in real estate instead of medicine clearly indicates that something is suspicious. Why would he possess a name card from a company he has little connection to, despite assisting Jong-soo? However, that is the explanation Chi-hyun provides as he forcibly takes Yoon-jin away during the day, tearing pages from her notebook and breaking her laptop.

Luckily, Hyun-woo witnesses Yoon-jin’s abduction as he had been watching Chi-hyun since he got a quiet call from Jun seo’s number. Jun seo ended up requesting Hyun-woo to handle a medicine delivery on the day when his daughter’s health unexpectedly deteriorated. Regrettably, Jun seo’s carefully separated pill box gets mixed up with the regular ones due to a rainy day accident. The medication meant for Chi-hyun and Jong-soo, who is addicted to drugs, was mistakenly given to another patient, resulting in a lawsuit for medical malpractice.

When Joo-song gets the call from Hyun-woo and rushes to the scene, Yoon-jin emerges unharmed as Chi-hyun lets her go after a bribe and a threat. Following a meal of beef and beer with Joo-song and Jae-kyung, the trio find themselves seated on the curb, where Yoon-jin shares about Jun seo’s visit on the night he passed away. He had remained quiet with her, seeming to ponder the words he struggled to articulate.

After being informed of the complete story by Hyun-woo, Jae-kyung and Yoon-jin decide to go to the freezer storage facility where Jun seo had stored his medicine, and possibly drugs. Because they don’t possess a warrant, the security officer only permits a short glimpse inside, yet Jae-kyung quickly recognizes that the place’s location is a significant hint on its own. Jae-kyung solves the mystery of the missing taxi during the store owner’s murder by discovering CCTV footage of the taxi driving in the wrong direction outside the storage facility.

In the meantime, Yoon-ho has been occupied with investigating. Initially, he locates Hyun-woo and enters his home stealthily during his absence at school. He sees Tae-jin exiting Ji-yeon’s apartment late at night, his mocking smile indicating he understands the situation.

Upon locating the black SUV seen on the CCTV near where Jun seo died, Jae-kyung discovers a dashcam recording showing another individual present that evening. Another high school classmate, JUNG SANG-EUI, asserts that Jun seo invited the Tae-jin trio to the construction site and requested his presence as well. Jun seo had described the plan as their “final opportunity,” even though he didn’t clarify his intentions.

That evening, Sang-eui arrived ten minutes ahead of time only to discover Tae-jin was already present. Following Tae-jin’s request, Sang-eui flipped the light switch, and soon after Chi-hyun and Jong-soo showed up, causing the ninth floor to suddenly illuminate. With Jun seo already present, the group took the elevator up, when suddenly something dropped past them. Afterward, they discovered Jun seo’s lifeless body at the bottom.

Not one of them saw Jun seo’s fall happen, however Sang-eui discloses an important piece of information. Jun seo was wearing his shoes when he fell, and those exact shoes were found on the ninth floor the next morning.

The sudden encounter with Sang-eui triggers a memory of their time in high school. Kyung-tae was suspended for violent behavior and extortion, but the reason remains undisclosed. After class, Jun seo declined Jong-soo’s invitation to study together and chose to study with the Audiophile members instead. It goes without saying that the rejection really bothered Jong-soo. After finding out Jun seo has been spending time with the Audiophile club instead of returning his calls, Jong-soo becomes increasingly annoyed and pressures a battered Sang-eui into admitting that Kyung-tae assaulted him.

At the moment, Jong-soo is facing severe difficulties – Keumhyung Pharmaceutical’s ongoing financial losses are pushing away potential investors, and Jong-soo’s father is on the brink of disowning him unless he can turn things around and save the company. Jong-soo doesn’t handle this loss well.

In the meantime, the alternate suppressant medications Jae-kyung is using don’t appear to be able to support him for an extended period. After discovering Chang-soo’s connection to CEO Yoon, it was revealed that he had captured her rival gang in return for her promise to avoid causing drug problems in Anhyun.

Was unable to recap both chapters due to time. However, they are both merged together to enable one understand the intricacies of both episodes. The intrigue is getting high. I’m glad that Chang Soo turned out to be the good guy who has been helping Jae Kyung this whole time. However, the mystery sorrounding Jun Seo’s death is still hard to unravel and the doctor, I wonder who it is.
