When Jung Ki sub was young, he was always sick. His older sister, a nurse, was the only one caring for him. He couldn’t bear to see her sad face whenever she looked at him. Because of this, he accepted everything she said. He grew accustomed to this pattern which was the reason he was unable to reject anyone who confessed their feelings to him.
Kang Hye Jin wasn’t his ex. She was a friend of his exes and threatened to deal with him with a bas ball bat after breaking up with her friends. Just like everyone he has hurt, she cursed him that he wouldn’t be able to find a person who really likes him.
Meanwhile, Jin woo is confused about Ki Sub’s behavior last night. After dragging him away from Hye Jin, he had asked if he was alright, if she hurt him. He even asked about their relationship but Jin woo quickly denies that anything is going on between them. To Jin woo’s surprise, Ki sub tells him he would protect him. Jin woo is bothered by this. He had finally found his ideal type. Yet, throughout their date, he could only think about Ki sub.
Ki sub confides in Balg um about Jin woo and Hye Jin’s relationship, afraid that Hye Jin might bully Jin woo because of him but Balg um assures that isn’t the case because he saw them coming outside of a movie theater while delivering. They were obviously on a date. Seeing Ki Sub’s unpleasant reaction, Balg um advises him to admit that he likes Jin woo and confess to him. However, Ki Sub isn’t even sure of his feelings.
Balg um rushes over to welcome In ho to his house. He orders a lavish meal for him and although, it’s quite awkward, In ho tells him he’s happy that they get to spend time together. He notices that Balg um still has his old socks and he tells him he has his as well. Balg um is slightly embarrassed by his small apartment but In oh is very comfortable with it.
Ki Sub stands in for Balg um at his coffee shop. His handsome looks draws customers attention and sales skyrockets, making Balg um’s boss very happy. That is until Hye Jin appears to ruin everything, exposing Ki Sub’s play boy nature publicly. She then hurts Ki sub when she reveals she’s Jin woo’s ideal type and that he would never end up with someone like him. The best he can do is to get out of Jin woo’s life and not hurt him. She shows him a message she just received from Jin woo requesting to meet. Ki sub feels heartbroken as Hye Jin leaves. Unable to control himself, he runs out of the coffee shop to question Jin woo himself.
Meanwhile, Jin woo is unable to forget Ki sub. He seems to have finally acknowledged his feelings. He wears the red shoes Ki sub bought for him. He also attaches the little stuffed toy that Ki sub gave him. Then he meets with Hye Jin at the park but the stuffed toy mistakenly falls onto the ground on his way.
He shows Hye Jin his diary where he wrote down his ideal type. He then tells her the truth about his feelings for Ki sub. To his surprise, Hye Jin isn’t mad. She confesses that she took out her anger on Ki Sub because she couldn’t really confess her love to her friend who happened to like Ki sub. Both feel comfortable around each other, deciding to be friends. It suddenly starts snowing and Ki Sub who had found the stuffed toy on the ground sees the two in the park. He smiles sadly and leaves.
Jin woo decides to confess his feelings and rushes back home only to be met with a note from Ki sub. In it, he says he has given up on pursuing him and would no longer be a bother. This pains Jin woo.
Both Ki sub and Jin woo miss each other severely. Jin woo tries to move on while Ki sub is being a downer to his sister who reminds him that they would be traveling to the US soon.
As he goes to the embassy to secure his papers, one of his friends sends him a video of the couple who had a public confession and Ki sub notices the look on his face when he was staring at Jin woo is that of love which he’s so familiar with. Plus the comments indicate he’s in love with the person he was staring at. Jin woo is so happy because he had never realized he could fall in love.
After realising his true feelings, he doesn’t even attend the questioning at the embassy and rushes to Jin woo’s house to confess to him but he isn’t home. Instead he meets the landlord who is worried since Jin woo’s father can’t reach him. In that moment, Jin woo’s father calls the landlord who in turn gives Ki sub the phone to answer.
Balg um and In ho have a date but it doesn’t go well because they first mistake the address for their cinema date. They then proceed to the restaurant and Balg um gets uncomfortable with Jin woo’s expensive gift which costs 500,000 won plus he wasn’t able to pay for their meal as it had over exceeded his budget. On their way, In ho suggests they go home together but Balg um eventually explodes, shouting that In ho should go to his own house.
He wants to end everything between them but In ho refuses to let him leave without an explanation and that’s when he says his mind. He’s embarrassed of his financial situation, especially after his family went bankrupt. He still likes In ho but that’s what makes it all the more painful for him. In ho hugs him tightly to comfort him but he lets him go realising that he can do nothing to change Balg um’s mind.
Jin woo discovers from his landlord that Ki Sub came to see him. He then also went to his family home. Jin woo searches for Ki sub eventually arriving at the train station of his home town. He’s hesitant to call his father but when Ki Sub suddenly calls, he immediately picks up. Ki sub tells him he’s right beside him. Jin woo turns and sure enough, Ki Sub is a few meters away. Without thinking, they run into each other’s arms.
The episode ends.
