Boys Be Brave Episodes 3-4 Recaps

Kim Jin woo nearly goes mad with frustration after seeing Jung ki sub dress up as a girl to fit his ideal type. He even shows him a doll resembling him saying it would stay by his side like he wrote in his diary. To Jin woo’s shock, Ki Sub even plans to tattoo a birthmark on his face because Jin woo wanted his future girlfriend to have a birthmark on his face like he did. Jin woo can’t believe he’s willing to go that far.

Meanwhile, Balg um is scolded by his boss at the cafe due to his lack of concentration. He decides to take a break but is burdened by memories of him with In ho when they were still lovers in high school but a notification on his phone reminding him of his debt makes him snap back to reality.

Ki Sub mistakenly leaves his phone at her mom and Jin woo sees a notification for his appointment with a tattoo shop that evening. He realizes that Ki Sub’s is really serious and rushes to stop him, ignoring his own study notification.

Meanwhile, for the first time, Ki Sub rejects a group of girls who hit on him. They leave in disappointment and just then, he coincidentally meets In ho and politely asks to check his map because he wanted to find the tattoo place. However, upon looking closely at him, he recognizes him as Balg um’s friend. In ho recognizes him as well and the two catch up. However, Balg um happens to pass by and when he sees them interacting, gets angry. In ho tries to talk to him but he grabs Ki Sub’s hand and lies that they are a couple. Unfortunately, Jin woo sees the scene and misunderstands. Ki sub notices him and tries to talk to him but Balg um forces them to leave together.

They arrive at Balg um’s apartment and Ki sub asks what his problem is. Ki Sub refuses to talk so Jin woo leaves to clarify things with Jin woo. Upon sensing his arrival, Jin woo hides under his bed, unwilling to face Ki sub. Ki Sub, as if knowing he is somewhere in the house, shouts that what he saw was a misunderstanding, that he and Belgium are only friends. He didn’t know what his history was with In ho but for some reason, he had used him to get rid of the other boy.

Meanwhile, Balg um finds In ho waiting for him in front of his house. He yells at him, demanding why he is here when he should be in the US, studying piano but In ho replies that he came back for him because he still loved him. Balg um’s response to him is that he hates him. In ho, hurt by him punches him in the face. The two start fighting.

Jin woo thinks Ki sub has stopped searching for him so he tries to get out only for Ki sub to lie in front of him under the bed. Jin woo is taken aback as Ki sub asks why he’s hiding. Jin woo doesn’t reply and the two stare deep into each other’s eyes. The lights go off as scheduled and in the darkness, the two suddenly kiss.

After their fight, In ho holds on to Ki Sub’s sleeve begging him to see him for at least three days before making up his mind to completely cut ties. Ki sub eventually agrees.

The reason Balg um had cut contact with In ho was because of his poor financial situation. He quit school without letting Jin woo know and deleted his number, putting him in the past

Meanwhile, Jin woo is embarrassed of the kiss between him and Ki sub the next morning. He can’t even bear to look at him, burdened that the kiss wasn’t good enough for Ki sub. He leaves the house hurriedly that morning and Ki sub thinks it’s because Jin woo might see him as a pervert.

While Jin Woo is in the library, he keeps worrying about this. Ki sub texts him, apologizing for last night. But Jin woo texts back, telling him not to make a big deal of the kiss. While he’s still burdening himself, he bumps into a pretty girl who coincidentally seems to have all the qualities he needs in a girlfriend.

Jin woo returns home later and Ki sub greets him excitedly. However, when Jin Woolooks at him, he can only think of the kiss. He notices a cut on Ki Sub’s finger. Ki sub tells him it’s a paper cut and asks him to help bandage it up. Jin woo reluctantly does and when he’s finished, Ki sub suddenly asks him to dry his wet hair. Jin woo reluctantly agrees but freezes when Ki Sub suddenly talks about their kiss. He says Jin woo kissed him because he liked him. Jin woo then asks why he kissed back and he replies he doesn’t know why. He has never dated anyone because he liked them. It was only for dating sake. He has no idea what he means to love someone. This annoys Jin woo who chastises himself for forgetting momentarily that Ki Sub is a play boy.

The girl from the Library, Kang Hye jin asks him out on a date and he immediately accepts. She turns out to be Jin woo’s exact type, with a mole on her face, innocent and pretty. When he learns that she has a checklist just like him, it’s like an added bonus. However, Jin woo’s mind continuously drifts to Ki Sub and he sees him everywhere he goes.

At the end of their date, The two end up at a park and Kang Hye jin expresses her desire to see him again, even asking him out to a movie the next day. But Jin woo seems unsure. He’s about to give her an answer when Ki Sub who sees them together at the park immediately recognizes her as his deranged ex-girlfriend. He grabs Jin woo and runs away with him. Kang hye Jin yells and runs after the two of them. The episode ends.
