Episode 8 of Black Out (Snow White Must Die) opens with a flashback to Jeong-woo’s high school days. Jeong-woo, Geon-oh, Byeong-moo, and Min-soo played football together, while Bo-young cheered them on. The group often gathered for light drinking at a warehouse.
Back in the present, Sang-cheol leaves the forensics department with reports showing that Bo-young’s underwear contained DNA from both Byeong-moo and Min-soo. Sang-cheol contacts the police to arrest Min-soo, keeping the call active since Byeong-moo is pursuing him. Byeong-moo rams Sang-cheol’s car in an attempt to steal the reports, but Sang-cheol stops him, leading to a physical fight that ends with Byeong-moo being pushed into a shallow river. Meanwhile, Jeong-woo confronts Min-soo with a hammer after Min-soo admits that Bo-young’s fate was his fault.
A flashback reveals that on the night of Bo-young’s murder, after Geon-oh had left, Bo-young argued with Byeong-moo and Min-soo. She insulted them by comparing them to Jeong-woo, enraging Byeong-moo, who then assaulted her, with Min-soo following suit.
In the present, Jeong-woo, devastated by the memory, nearly attacks Min-soo. Sang-cheol, waiting by the river, calls Jeong-woo to calm him down. Both Min-soo and Byeong-moo are arrested, and Na-kyeom is horrified when she learns what her friends did to Bo-young. Geon-oh, confused due to alcohol withdrawal, escapes his house on Ha-seol’s moped, prompting Jeong-woo to rush after him.
At the police station, Gu-tak and Hee-do examine the forensic findings, concluding that Byeong-moo and Min-soo raped Bo-young and abandoned her at the warehouse, while Jeong-woo, in a drunken state, may have killed her. Gu-tak, relieved that Geon-oh’s DNA was not found on Bo-young’s underwear, decides to reopen the investigation.
Na-kyeom follows Jeong-woo and Ha-seol as they search for Geon-oh. Meanwhile, Choo-ho and Heung-soo, the fathers of the arrested men, head to the police station. Byeong-moo begs Gu-tak for help, but Gu-tak refuses, instructing Sang-cheol to conduct a thorough investigation now that Geon-oh is cleared as a suspect.
Sang-cheol interrogates Byeong-moo, who, being a cop himself, refuses to talk. Byeong-moo reflects on his life, unwilling to ruin the career he worked hard to build. At home, Young-sil demands Hyung-sik’s obedience and honesty. Meanwhile, Min-soo also refuses to answer Sang-cheol’s questions.
Choo-ho and Heung-soo meet Gu-tak, who reveals that a video from Bo-young’s phone proves Byeong-moo and Min-soo were the ones who assaulted her. Gu-tak tells them he can no longer help. Desperate, the two fathers plead on their knees for their sons.
Geon-oh, heavily intoxicated, begins hearing Bo-young’s voice. Jeong-woo finds him and takes him to the police station, where Geon-oh announces his intention to confess. This causes panic, and Hee-do informs Gu-tak, who tells Choo-ho and Heung-soo to create a distraction at the station to prevent Geon-oh’s interrogation.
Sang-cheol allows Jeong-woo to speak privately with Byeong-moo but warns him not to harm him, as doing so would lead to serious consequences. Meanwhile, Gu-tak brings Geon-oh to a secret room and manipulates him into changing his testimony for Su-oh’s sake. He convinces Geon-oh to lie about the events of that night.
In the holding cell, Jeong-woo confronts Byeong-moo, who blames Jeong-woo for everything, claiming that Bo-young’s death was ultimately Jeong-woo’s fault because of his success and their jealousy.
After Gu-tak’s manipulation, Geon-oh alters his story, telling Sang-cheol that he left to get more alcohol and returned to find Bo-young’s belongings, which he had hidden for 11 years. That night, Na-kyeom informs Bo-young’s parents about what happened to their daughter.
Jeong-woo is released from the cell, warning Byeong-moo of what’s to come. He tries to question Geon-oh about that night, but Geon-oh flees and is hit by a car.
Oh my goodness. What an episode! It really is something. I feel really bad for Geon ho. Turned out he was even more troubled than his brother.
