The tenth episode of Romance in the House begins with Tae-pyeong hopping onto his bicycle and preparing for work. Nevertheless, this is before he starts his internship, during which he makes a point of requesting Nam Chi-Yeol not to mention that he is his son. And surely we are aware that he indeed does so. Mr Nam is feeling quite pleased and content, as he departs the scene, leaving behind a sense of unease.
Regrettably, this small addition triggers office gossip to rapidly spread. Mi-rae’s colleague cautions her that her life is going to become increasingly exhausting in the near future.
In the meantime, Hyeon-jae’s eyes light up with greed as Moo-jin hands him his allowance, which turns out to be a envelope filled with cash. While getting ready for the day, Ae-yeon also decides to accept the modeling job. Moo-jin sees her off and suggests that the villa gang might watch the infomercial channel later. Moo-jin is fully committed and chooses to take on the responsibility of being her mentor.
While they’re pleased with this arrangement, Mi-rae is definitely not satisfied. She talks with Tae-pyeong outside and they decide to move on from the past issues by agreeing to separate work from their personal feelings. Clearly, Tae-pyeong and Mi-rae’s relationship is a secret that no one is aware of, which is exactly how they want it to be. They have their team dinners and successfully maintain discretion by meeting secretly outdoors.
Regarding Ae-yeon, she is anxious at first but she completely nails her performance at the gig. With her passionate speech, she is able to bring energy to the room and successfully contribute to selling out the product. The phone lines are extremely busy! It’s a lovely moment, especially with both Mi-rae and Moo-jin present to cheer her on from the sidelines.
The two women who employed her also plan to support her in another project, despite Moo-jin joking on the way home that men will now be eager to be with her. Ae-yeon chuckles as Moo-jin displays some odd behavior.
When Mi-rae and Tae-pyeong arrive home, they see Moo-jin examining the CCTV footage. Mi-rae asks him to come in for a coffee, and he is surprised when she expresses gratitude for assisting Ae-yeon. By herself, she mentions the villa and the landlord’s daughter problem. Moo-jin is extremely anxious, while Mi-rae remains silent, despite being aware of the situation.
At the workplace, Mr Nam is surprised to see Tae-pyeong in a chicken outfit, assisting with promoting and handing out products. Mi-rae interrogates him and asserts her dominance, handling the new guy in the same manner as everyone else. Nevertheless, she sweetly texts him afterward to ensure she wasn’t too severe.
Even though Tae-pyeong is fine with it, Mr. Nam has a conversation with Mi-rae in the elevator. He is aware that she is caught off guard by the unexpected change in situation and is hoping that Mi-rae will assist Tae-pyeong in staying for a long time. She might not be able to guarantee anything, but she is committed to doing her best to mentor him regardless.
Regrettably, Tae-pyeong and Mi-rae’s love affair is not as sneaky as they believe, and a few employees catch them in the parking lot exchanging loving glances and waving.
At the same time, Moo-jin has a meeting with the landlord’s daughter. She mentions that her father had fire insurance on the property, however, the claim was denied by the company. The fire was intentional and he personally caused it. It seems that Moo-jin was unaware, but he was surprised when he discovered that the landlord had put all his money into a company named Dragon Investment, and was deceived as a consequence. This poses an issue, as Moo-jin was the one who brought him into the company, leading the landlord’s daughter to conclude that Moo-jin cheated him completely.
As the first anniversary dinner begins, Moo-jin opts out of attending. Instead of that, he calls Ae-yeon while enjoying a drink all by himself. He expresses regret for his foolishness and clarifies that it has been a lengthy process for him, but whenever he attempts to resolve issues, he believes he just makes them worse. He is concerned that he will repeat the same mistake at this moment.
In a state of intoxication, he eventually arrives at the dinner and discovers that Jae-geol is also present. He is seated next to Jeong-in, following their meeting at the salon earlier in the episode. Yet, it is not he who causes commotion, it is Jeong-Hyeok. He states his intention to relocate due to feeling anxious and afraid.
As things begin, the landlord’s daughter unexpectedly appears and pours a drink over Moo-jin’s head. She publicly insults Moo-jin, accusing him of being a deceiver, and forces him to admit to deceiving her father to secure his investment, then taking all his money. She desires the return of the money and insists on being told the complete story.
Ae-yeon displays and soothes situations. She is certain that Moo-jin wouldn’t have returned to the family if he was truly a scammer and causing trouble for them. She trusts him due to their familial bond and supports him. Hyeon-jae also concurs. To everyone’s surprise, Mi rae also trusts him. That’s sufficient for Moo-jin to depart and go.
Jae-geol resides with the landlord’s daughter and chooses to disclose everything in front of all the residents of the villa. Yes, Moo-jin did receive a financial windfall from spending time with Mr Kim, but he was determined not to give his villa to his daughter. Moo-jin initially tried to steer clear of Dragon Investment, but their representative, Jung Jun-yong, persisted and managed to speak to Mr Kim.
Moo-jin attempted to dissuade Kim from investing with these individuals, but the landlord remained firm in his decision. Jae-geol’s signature is also present, and he reacted in a similar manner upon discovering the scam, shifting all the blame to Moo-jin in order to feel relieved.
Mr. Kim actually died from intentionally starting a fire in his apartment in order to claim the insurance money for himself. Nevertheless, he missed the opportunity to exit the villa and passed away. Who is the recipient of the insurance? The daughter of Mr Kim. She is in debt and wants to sell the villa in order to settle her debts. He agreed to assist her, but the assistance involves setting the apartment on fire.
Having revealed the truth, Ae-yeon then meets up with Moo-jin. He says sorry for not paying attention to her and thinks he has messed things up once more. Ae-yeon takes his hand and listens to their classic song. Putting a smile on his face is sufficient, but not enough to improve his mood. They kiss and that is sufficient.
Two more episodes to recap. How are you seeing the series so far?
