In the start of Episode 3, Tae-pyeong is seen instructing children in tae-kwon-do. His distinctive kick is the one he employs against Mi-rae’s father and he feels embarrassed thinking about it. At the workplace, Mi-rae observes women adoring him. Her colleague informs her that everything began when he rescued her after she fainted. Ever since that time, women have been pursuing him. Approaching her to discuss her parents, he is pulled to the side by her and she begs him not to reveal what transpired to anyone. She warns she will have him fired, but admits to feeling satisfied watching him kick Moo-jin in the face. Tae pyeong finds this confusing.
At the same time, Ae-yeon decides to remain in the villa instead of leaving. Upon learning the news, Mi-rae is not pleased, proposing that they could potentially consider borrowing more money. They are already overwhelmed with debts, so that is not an ideal choice. Mi-rae wonders if her mother is being influenced by her father’s wealth, but she becomes frightened by her mother’s strong gaze as she holds her position and refuses to pack out.
Mi-rae suddenly visits her father, but he declines to give her his wedding ring. He openly confesses his plan to try wooing her mother back into falling in love with him again. Mi-rae is surprised and clearly shaken. Moo-jin is very sure he can win Ae-yeon’s heart, so he suggests making a bet on it. Mi rae indicates that the bet would consist of her entire alimony funds. it totals to the complete cost of owning the villa. Her father’s immediate agreement surprises her. There are a total of four weeks for this to become effective.
Ae yeon goes to a baseball field to hit balls and alleviate her stress. Amidst all this, there is also a side story about Choi Dong-jin, a resident of the villa who lives in the semi-basement and witnessed Moo jin with the landlord before his death. He is doubtful of Moo-jin and feels unsettled by his presence.
The following day, Moo jin demonstrates to Ae yeon that their agreement is officially documented and certified. Unexpectedly, she hands over the monthly rent payment to him. He inquires if she desires anything and she responds that he is already aware. Mi-rae has flashbacks of her father having problems with loan-sharks. She was displeased with the restaurant her mother struggled to have being completely destroyed. She insisted that he promise to disappear, declaring that he is dead to her and should never come back until his death.
Ae yeon encounters Tae pyeong as he purchases coffee. He is shocked by the size of her coffee and questions if it would be too much for her, but she responds that she drinks it for survival. Later, she departs, contemplating her strategy to overcome Moo Jin.
Jae Gyeol thinks Moo jin’s agreement with Mi rae is absurd and considers canceling it, but Moo jin cautions him against that decision. He is adamant about seeing this through to the finish. Choi Dong jin becomes afraid and flees when Moo jin goes with tenant Chun sik to repair his lock. On that evening, he tells the other residents about his suspicions. Naturally, Lee Jeong-hyeok, who already had doubts about Moo-jin, fully embraces this theory. The remaining residents unite to investigate the validity of the story and gossip about his possible background. Was he sent to prison? Is he a former prisoner? In any case, Moo-jin setting “traces” on fire on the rooftop and going into a tofu restaurant appear to be the more questionable aspects in this situation.
The entire group becomes greatly confused, with some even thinking Ae-yeon and the children might be involved in the alleged “murder cover-up”. As they discuss theories, Ae yeon abruptly joins them, leading everyone to awkwardly shift the topic. They become suspicious when Hyeon jae brings them rice cakes from his father. At the same time, Moo-jin attempts to charm Ae-yeon following his gift of rice cakes. He assures her she still appears beautiful and has not changed much, but she rebuts, calling him immature and pointing out that she only stayed at the villa for financial gain. As expected, his initial strategy fails. Making no progress, Moo-jin attempts a new approach.
While at work, Mi-rae listens in on a conversation between the CEO and Tae-pyeong in the elevator, where Tae-pyeong refers to the CEO as “father.” Before anyone else discovers, they quickly usher her into the elevator, causing a tense atmosphere. Upon reaching her stop, she promptly exits. Apparently, the CEO is Tae-pyeong’s father and he calls to scold him for accepting the security position. He questions how he will silence Mi rae, but Tae pyeong ends the call.
In the meantime, Hyeong jae brings Ae yeon’s friend Jeong in to meet Moo jin, however, upon seeing him, she appears to know him but acts like she doesn’t.
Moo-jin dines out with Hyeon-jae, who discusses the challenges they have been facing in detail. Additionally, he mentions that Mi-rae has never had a boyfriend and Ae-yeon is employed at the department store. They stayed put in their old house to demonstrate to their neighbors that they were capable of achieving success. This touches Moo jin deeply. He decides to assist them financially by swiping his credit card. Hyeon-jae is fully committed. The father and son enjoy their time together until the son gets disturbed when he sees his former landlord.
It seems that this man tried to flirt with Ae-yeon while they were living there, and he repeatedly attempted to enter their Unit while drunk. Moo-jin is unhappy, and likewise, Jeong-in is unhappy with him too because he wanted to kill him at the time for bothering his mother.
Upon Moo jin’s return to his apartment, Jeong in informs him that she would not discuss their relationship with Ae yeon. They need to think of each other as strangers. He inquires about her well-being as she is about to enter the apartment that is conveniently located across from hers.
Mi rae is on her way out from work when she encounters Tae pyeong, who has been waiting for her outside. He treats her to dinner out. He thinks Mi-rae will expose the truth, but she decides that they should keep it under wraps for the time being. Upon parting ways, she proposes that they continue to pretend to be strangers, even though she is genuinely interested in Tae pyeong and feels ashamed for threatening to have him fired the previous day.
Upon arriving home, she is shocked to find the numerous items Moo jin had sent and instructs Hyeon jae to obtain a refund for them. The following day, Mi rae eavesdrops on the villa inhabitants talking negatively about Moo jin for fighting someone. They believe Moo-jin is the one who set the fire and caused the landlord’s demise.
When Hwang Jin-hee, who lives with a young child, goes up to Ae-yeon in the shop and accuses her of knowing that Moo-jin murdered their landlord, Moo-jin, in the midst of shopping, steps in to protect her. However, Mi-rae mentions that Moo-jin is unknown to them and is not her father. In a flashback, we witness the destruction of her mother’s snack bar when the loan sharks came. The reason it was closed was because of Moo-jin.

Mi rae and Ae yeon leave for home after receiving a scolding at work. They encounter a different group of neighbors who harass them about the landlord’s death, but Ae yeon confronts them for targeting her due to her vulnerability. She informs them that she would have remained with Moo jin if he had truly had the mind to murder the landlord. Moo Jin ended up witnessing everything. Mi rae reiterates once more that all she wants is for him to leave their lives and nothing else.
Feeling frustrated, Moo-jin is left to ponder about the past. He heavily consumes soju shots while contemplating Mi Rae’s indifferent attitude towards him. Later on, Hyeon-jae arrives with a type of lie detector and all the results turn out to be true. In the morning, Moo-jin calls Ae-yeon and assures her that no one will bother her again. He arrives at the police station and chooses to provide testimony about the fire, sharing details that could assist with their investigation.
Afterwards, he assembles all the inhabitants and Hyeon jae to reveal the truth. He displays all his matches to them and clarifies that he attempted to persuade the landlord to sell to him. He is displeased with the constant badgering of Ae-yeon by the residents, but his explanations have convinced them to support him. Moo-jin goes as far as purchasing sufficient drinks for them to become intoxicated. While they all enjoy their drinks, Moo-jin playfully texts Mi-rae, informing her that he is determined not to get lost and will keep moving forward.
In the epilogue, we revisit the encounter with the landlord that occurred earlier in the episode. He is certainly a creep, and Moo-jin takes him to task in a restaurant as he is about to harass a woman. He vows to murder the man if he returns to the area.
Gosh…this episode is so annoying. I understand Mi rae’s anger but her words…Anyway, I just hope all these can speed up so we see them being in solidarity because I can’t handle all these tension.
