The scene begins with Seon Hui coming back from school. In her bedroom, she remembers she must give Su Yeon a math workbook. Upon leaving, Seon Hui notices Su Yeon heading towards her male friend Gyeong Ho’s residence and decides to wait outside. Gyeong Ho has a hidden surprise in the house for Seon Hui. However, Su Yeon believes the setup is tasteless and won’t make an impression on her. Upon observing Su Yeon’s reaction, Gyeong Ho believes that Su yeon may also have feelings for Seon Hui which makes her startled.
Meanwhile, Seon Hui chooses to leave the residence, yet upon hearing shouts from within, she hurries back inside to discover Su Yeon engaged in a knife altercation with Gyeong Ho. When Seon Hui tries to intervene with Su Yeon, Su Yeon reveals her partially burned head and blames Seon Hui for ruining her life before attempting to attack her with a knife. Nevertheless, Gyeong Ho intervenes and gets stabbed while shielding Seon hui. Afterwards, Su Yeon returns home covered in blood and confesses to her mother that she believes she has murdered Gyeong Ho.
A month ago, in a walk down memory lane, Seon Hui arrived at school in a cheerful mood and after greeting her friends, encounters Gyeong Ho. They enter the school alongside their friend, Hyeon-U. The teacher informs the class that Su Yeon is a new student who has recently changed schools. Later on, she converses with Seon Hui as if they already have a history together. Nonetheless, Seon Hui has no recollection of Su Yeon. Su Yeon mentions she may have confused Seon Hui with a different person. Following that, Su Yeon begins to watch Seon Hui and her friends, and she takes notice of how Seon Hui styles her hair. In the meantime, Seon Hui’s father, Choi Jin Hyeok, is honored with the Excellent Person of Korea award and after the ceremony, poses for photos with his family.
In school, Gyeong Ho presents Seon Hui with a swan pendant for her birthday. Su Yeon observes the interaction from a distance. Once Seon Hui departs, Hyeong Ho informs Hyeon-U that Seon Hui has turned down his intention to date. In class, once everyone departs, Su Yeon takes out a box of matches and questions Seon Hui if she still has no recollection of her. In a flashback, Seon Hui and Su Yeon as young children are shown, and some boys are teasing Seon Hui. Luckily, Su Yeon steps in to help her. Since their time in the orphanage, Su Yeon and Seon Hui have been inseparable. Moreover, Su Yeon instructs Seon Hui on lighting a matchstick. The girls’ friendship will come to an end soon, as certain individuals are interested in taking Su Yeon in and she will be departing from the orphanage.
In the current time, Su Yeon informs Seon Hui that she wasn’t able to be adopted due to being injured. Furthermore, Su Yeon ponders whether she is an adoptee and if she would have experienced the same happiness as Seon Hui. Therefore, Seon Hui assures Su Yeon that she will assist her during that trip. As Su Yeon observed Seon Hui and her friends, she slyly requests the swan pendant Gyeong Ho had gifted her as a symbol of their renewed bond.
On the basketball court, Gyeong Ho informs Hyeon-U that Seon Hui’s packed schedule leaves her with no time for dating, and she will only consider it once she is in college. Initially, Hyeon-U expresses alarming statements. In the final moments, he consoles Gyeong Ho. During the evening, Seon Hui seeks advice from her father on how to approach Su Yeon, who appears to be in need of assistance in understanding Su Yeon.
At the same time, Su Yeon faces difficulty because the supermarket she was employed at has closed, leaving her unpaid for the month. While at school, Su Yeon requests money from Seon Hui to purchase supplies, unaware that Seon Hui is wearing earphones. Seon Hui inquires about Su Yeon’s words, causing her to feel offended. Nevertheless, Su Yeon agrees to assist Su Yeon the following day.
Gyeong Ho observes the exchange and feels irritated. Su Yeon resides with an elderly girl from the orphanage in their home. Her roommate motivates Su Yeon to finish school despite her wish to drop out. The day after, Gyeong Ho hands money to Su Yeon and requests her to cease tormenting Seon Hui. Furious, Su Yeon strikes Gyeong Ho to the floor with punches and kicks, asking Seon Hui if she believes Su Yeon is a homeless person.
As Su Yeon angrily leaves school, two roguish school girls approach her and inquire whether she would like to become friends with them and look after Seon Hui. Nevertheless, Su Yeon notifies them they chatter excessively and asserts she has no need for companions. The day after, at school, Gyeong Ho says sorry to Su Yeon and explains he had misinterpreted her. Following the conversation, Su Yeon requests to visit the commissary. Su Yeon becomes aware that Seon Hui has requested Gyeong Ho to say sorry to Su Yeon. Afterwards, Su Yeon encounters Hyeon-U and questions him about his feelings for her, however he declines. Su Yeon has the ability to see straight through him. Moreover, Hyeon-U informs Su Yeon that Seon Hui’s father is a lawyer while Gyeong-Ho’s father is a renowned painter. This puts him at a lower social status as his parents work as dry cleaners.
Upon hearing this, Su Yeon becomes irritated and remarks that if dry cleaners’ children are not allowed to date, then orphans like her also have no opportunity to date. On that evening, Su Yeon chooses to confide in Seon Hui about her injury and leads her to a secluded alley. Seon Hui is left astonished and afraid as Su Yeon reveals her true self by removing her wig. Su Yeon informs Seon Hui that the cost of treating burns is high, which is why no one chooses to adopt her. Seon Hui is the reason why she got burned only a day before her adoption. The night before, Seon Hui played with matches and failed to extinguish the fire, resulting in the entire building being set ablaze. Su Yeon was unable to escape on time. In a short while, Seon Hui was taken in by a new family.
So my forbidden marriage couple reunited. I can’t wait to see what they bring to us. The series is coming out nicely but we’ll see how things go.
