In December 2023, Song Ji Hye emerged victorious in a legal dispute with her previous management company. However, recent reports indicate that the actress has not received the settlement money yet, which amounts to approximately 1 billion KRW. Her team is now preparing to quickly take steps to retrieve the funding.
In December 2023, Song Ji Hyo emerged victorious in a lawsuit against her previous agency, UZUROCKS, earning around 1 billion KRW, as per a report by Korean media outlet My Daily on July 1. Nonetheless, as per the most recent updates, she has yet to receive the sum despite it being 7 months since. Her team is now preparing to initiate debt collection procedures in order to retrieve the funds.
Providing more context to the situation, it was reported by My Daily that Song Ji Hyo entered into a contract with UZUROCKS in October 2022. However, after not being paid for her advertisement modeling work, the actress informed the company in April 2023 that she was ending her contract.
In the upcoming month, she sued the ex-agency in civil court for the money owed. Furthermore, she lodged a criminal complaint against the ex-CEO of UZUROCKS for suspected embezzlement under the legislation on specific economic crimes with severe penalties.
Nevertheless, Song Ji Hyo’s previous management company did not reply to the legal action, resulting in the court making a decision based on Civil Procedure Laws in the absence of any arguments.
Following this, the company failed to submit an appeal on time, leading to the actress ultimately winning the case. The court mandated UZUROCKS to compensate 984 million KRW in the resolution, in addition to some accrued interest. Nevertheless, after 7 months have passed, she still hasn’t received the money, and everyone is watching to see what happens next.
