Episode 9 of Red Swan begins, where Do-yoon has a covert meeting with his ex-boss to discuss Ju-hyuk’s demise. Do-yoon openly admits that he still lacks trust in his ex-boss, however, he is prepared to collaborate on the Hwain case. Even though the boss is upset by Do-yoon’s doubt, he permits him to keep looking into the matter. He requests Do-yoon to investigate the rumored slush fund of late president Kim Duo that is supposed to assist Yong-guk in taking control of the company.
Yong-guk and Wan-soo go to Switzerland to talk about withdrawing Kim Duo’s leftover money. During Wan-soo’s sleep, Yong-guk contacts a man named Peter via email to arrange a meeting. They are presented with the verified money at the bank but are unable to take all of it back. Based on the money’s quantity and the situation, they need to bring the money into the country through money laundering.
In Korea, at the Grand Palace, Lee jin accidentally exposes herself to Do-yoon when she runs into him and expertly catches his fallen bottle. Do-yoon discreetly asks her about her height and language abilities, but she deceives him. Nevertheless, Do-yoon continues to be wary of her.
Yong guk and Wan soo gets access to the account, shocked by the amount of cash inside the vault.
When they return to korea, Yong-min is insisting that the money be split into three equal parts. Yong-guk thinks only Wan-soo has the power to determine how the money should be used. However, Chairwoman Park desires for the funds to be utilized for Yong-guk’s inheritance.
This results in a conflict between the two sons, and Yong-guk stands his ground. He says Yong-min is not the rightful heir and therefore has no claim to the money.
Yong-min becomes enraged and warns that he will take legal action against the family. Yong-guk mentions Chairman Duo’s death and wonders if Yong-min is responsible for killing his father. Chairwoman Park appears shocked by the news of her husband’s murder, but Yong-min is unsurprised.
Afterwards, Yong-min visits lawyer. Han’s residence and it is disclosed that Yong-min committed the murder of the Chairman and lawyer. Han assisted in concealing the crime. During a flashback, we learn that there was a confrontation where Yong-min struck Chairman Duo with a gold bar. Yong-min currently requests Lawyer Han’s assistance in locating a means to obtain the money and eliminate Wan-soo. The primary issue for all parties concerned is figuring out how to repatriate the funds back into the country.
Chairwoman Park proposes to Mr. Han the idea of utilizing Hyun-soo for money laundering after Wan-soo and Yong-guk come back from Switzerland. She desires that this will encourage Wan-soo to be compliant. Mrs. Han is shocked when Mr. Han rejects her suggestion and believes he is being stubborn because she won’t split the money with their son, Yong-min.
Meanwhile, Wan-soo, Hyun-soo and Do-yoon strategize their upcoming actions. Do-yoon aims to give the ledgers to the prosecutor, while Hyun-soo wishes to negotiate with Mr. Han. He fears they will murder him and Wan-soo if they resist. Do-yoon shocks them by providing evidence that Yong min is lawyer Han’s soon. He informs Hyun-soo to be cautious because of this. In the end, they opt to give the ledgers to Mr Han. Do-yoon makes sure Hyun-soo informs him when he encounters Mr Han. He also cautions Wan-soo to be cautious when it comes to Lee jin.
Meanwhile, Yong-guk persists in exploring a method to launder the money and assist Wan-soo. He also attempts to reconcile with Ta-era and Jun-hee. He reunites with his son and admits he is his father. Nevertheless, he informs Jun-hee of his intention to end things with Ta-era. The child chooses to reside with his mother and Yong-guk honors his choice. Father and son embrace tearfully before he departs with his mother and grandmother.
At the same time, Yong-min purchases additional Hwain shares with Ji-hyeon’s funds. She becomes angry and ridicules him. She insists on him giving back her money within three days and guarantees that he will never defeat Yong-guk. She claims his mother would never approve of it.
Later that evening, Do-yoon gets a message from Hyun-soo saying he is going to meet Mr Han at the bridge by Han River. Do-yoon warns him to watch out because there are no security cameras in that location. He catches Ji yeon exiting the house, and she fibs about going to hang out with her friends. He accompanies her to the meeting place and captures the discussion between Mr. Han and Hyun-soo. He additionally installs a camera to ensure he covers all possibilities.
Hyun-soo tries to get some assurance from Mr Han, but none is given. Mr Han insists that Wan-soo will never leave the foundation and that Hyun-soo should worry about himself. Hyun-soo tries to get more information from Mr Han about his plans, but the lawyer is too clever to share that. After Hyun-soo gives him the ledgers, Mr Han leaves and Hyun-soo starts walking to his car. Unfortunately, Lee jin comes out of her hiding place and slits his throat before Do-yoon can do anything.
Luckily, Do-yoon follows and stabs her in the back. Somehow, Lee jin manages to flee and Do-yoon hangs back to call for help. Mr Han calls the prosecutor and gives them the ledgers. He then switches his phone off and waits for hell to break loose at the Chairwoman’s house. Soon after, the prosecutors visit the Chairwoman and give her a document summoning her to show up at their offices. Chairwoman Park tries to contact her lawyer, Mr Han, but he remains MIA until the following morning.
Elsewhere, Do-yoon follows Hyun-soo to the hospital, but the doctors are unable to save him. As the Chairwoman prepares to present herself to the prosecutor, the media shows up outside her house. They remain on guard, waiting for the Chairwoman to show up and answer their questions.
Mr Han suggests that Chairwoman Park stay composed and allow him to handle the situation. He claims that the prosecutor does not possess enough evidence to keep her detained. Chairwoman Park is taken aback by Mr Han’s statement that Hyun-soo handed over the ledgers to the prosecution when at first, Mr. Han claimed that it was Do-yoon who took and delivered the ledgers to the prosecutors. Still, she has faith in Mr Han, believing he will resolve the issue.
At the same time, Do-yoon tells Wan-soo about Hyun-soo’s death in person and consoles her. It is clear that Wan-soo desires to visit her brother, but Do-yoon requests that she wait until the media around their house disperses. At the same time, Chairwoman Park prepares to depart her home, but chaos erupts among the press when Wan-soo’s affair is exposed.
Chairwoman Park declines to discuss Wan-soo’s marriage but assures she will work with the prosecutor and expresses regret for the confusion. Due to the recent media controversy surrounding her, Wan-soo must delay attending her brother’s memorial service. She dispatches her assistant to assist the widow of her brother.
Simultaneously, Ji-hyeon discovers that Yong-min blackmailed her father with her secret relationships in order to gain access to their funds for purchasing additional Hwain shares. She faces Yong-min and insists on divorcing him despite his threat to expose her compromising videos and photos. Ji-hyeon is determined to divorce him no matter what and cautions him that he has chosen the wrong person to mess with.
Following the settling down of the situation, Wan-soo goes to her brother’s memorial and honors his memory. During the memorial service, Hyun-soo’s widow hands Wan-soo the proof that her husband left behind. Do-yoon urges Hyun-soo’s widow to contact the prosecutors and state that the proof her husband gathered is kept in Mr. Han’s safe. Afterwards, Do-yoon covertly enters Mr. Han’s secure safe and inserts a USB device.
Regarding the Chairwoman, she has been let go and Mr. Han recommends that she remain at the hotel until the media situation is resolved. In the hotel room, Mr Han expresses his desire for Yong-min to become the new leader of Hwain, but Chairwoman Park scoffs at his suggestion. It amuses her that he believes she will give the company to her illegitimate son. Mr Han feels insulted by being called a concubine but conceals his anger.
Summary of episode 10 of Red Swan begins with Chairwoman Park being taken into custody. Mr Han’s inaction shocks her as he stands idly by while she is being handcuffed. As they drag her away, she curses him and the prosecutors.
At the same time, Do-yoon fills Wan-soo in on his strategy to capture Mr Han. Upon his return to the mansion, he discovers the prosecutors are prepared to conduct a search of Mr. Han’s house. He observes them removing the safe and sees Lee jin attempting to escape. He follows her and they engage in an intense battle. Luckily, on this occasion, Do-yoon manages to catch her and hand her over to the police. Afterwards, he informs Mr. Han that he will be going to find him, but Mr. Han appears to be very calm. What is concealed in his sleeves?
Mr Han has actually held onto the gold bar that Yong-min used to murder Chairman Duo. He goes to see Chairwoman Park at the prosecutor’s office and coerces her to admit to her wrongdoing. He warns her that he’ll reveal their affair that resulted in a son who later murdered her husband. He urges Chairwoman Park to tap into her maternal instincts and shield Yong-min.
Confronted with the concern that Hwain may not make it through the revelation of her affair and Yong-min’s actions, Chairwoman Park admits to attempting to murder Wan-soo and instructing Lee jin to carry out the killing. When Mr. Han unveils his true nature, she is extremely surprised, but sadly, by then it is already too late for her.
Ji-hyeon requests a divorce from Yong min, but he declines to sign the documents. He angrily leaves his office and drives to his mother’s house. He dismisses all the servants and grabs one of the guns from the house. Mr Han observes the workers leaving and telephones Ms Byeon. She informs him that Yong-min is furious and he throws them all out.
Mr Han hurries to prevent Yong-min from murdering Yong-guk but decides against it when the latter insults his son. He seizes the firearm from his son and Yong-guk resists. Yong-min seizes the gun and shoots his brother after noticing his father is being outnumbered.
On her way out, Wan-soo hears the initial gunshot and quickly runs back inside to see Yong-min once more shooting Yong-guk. Upon shooting his brother, Yong-min lets go of the gun as Wan-soo quickly goes to Yong-guk’s aid.
Regrettably, Yong-guk dies after declaring his feelings to Wan-soo and asking for forgiveness. Wan soo completely breaks down in tears, completely devastated. Prior to his passing, Yong-guk attempted to rectify his mistakes. He encountered Ta-era and proposed to give her money in exchange for ending their relationship. He expressed his love for Wan-soo openly. Although difficult to accept, Ta-era can now move forward without any feelings of remorse after learning the truth.
Following Yong-guk’s death, Mr Han and Yong-min erase the recorded videos from the surveillance cameras. Mr Han blames Wan-soo for Yong-guk’s death and instructs Yong-min to conceal himself. Luckily, Do-yoon shows up as they escort Wan-soo for interrogation and she informs him about everything. He rallies the employees to locate Yong-min and apprehend him. Both Wan-soo and Yong-min were tested for gun residue by the police, leading to the conclusion that Wan-soo is not guilty. Following her release, Wan-soo goes to see Chairwoman Park and urges her not to succumb to Mr. Han’s intimidations.
However, Do-yoon uses the video of Hyun-soo delivering the documents to Mr. Han as evidence that he is the one behind everything. Mr. Han is arrested based on the evidence found in the safe and all other indications. Do-yoon steps down as Wan-soo’s bodyguard after resolving the case. After sharing a hug, she watches him leave, trying to hold back her tears. After all the experiences they have shared, they need some time away from each other to recover. Do-yoon returns to his job as a police officer, while Wan-soo devotes her attention to the foundation.
Chairwoman Park’s exoneration is made possible by lawyer Han’s arrest, but she is placed on probation while the investigation progresses.
She goes to see Yong-min in jail and pardons him. She cautions him against trusting Mr Han since he still possesses the bloody golden bar. Yong-min snaps and assaults his father while in jail. The security guards intervene before Yong-min can strangle his father to death, showing that he is deeply troubled.
In the meantime, Chairwoman Park consents to respect Chairman Du-o’s wishes. She permits Wan-soo to utilize the funds for a positive cause through the foundation and requests the board of directors to select a new chairperson.
One year afterwards, Do-yoon and Wan-soo come together again before she heads back to Tanzania for volunteer work. This time, Do-yoon chooses to participate as another volunteer, reuniting the two of them back in each other’s life.
What a drama! It was a very good one. Although the deaths were very painful, it concluded nicely. Yong min whom Lawyer Han had been fighting for this whole time turned against him. I love how Wan soo and Do yoon decided to give each other space, eventually reuniting with each other under better circumstances.
All in all, my rating for this drama will be 8.5/10
