Dare To Love Me Episode 3 Recap

In episode 3, we find ourselves back in the rain with Yoon-bok protecting Hong-do under his umbrella. On their way back, they start bickering about Yoon-bok kindly holding the umbrella for Hong-do, even though he ends up getting wet himself. Back at home, Hong-do starts to think to himself, Have I always been this good-looking?

At work, everyone gossips about Hong-do all the time. Frustrated, she decides to show them a video providing evidence that Hyang gi stole and copied her bag. Hyang-gi is ready to quit because she was accused of copying a design made by a lowly assistant, but the boss refuses to let her go. Hong-do couldn’t take it anymore. She yells about how poorly she is being treated and then just says she was quitting. Her team leader didn’t seem to mind at all, in fact, she looks pretty pleased to see Hong-do leave.

Then comes Camille, the boss of the popular Camille brand that everyone had been obsessing over. As soon as she entered korea, she searched high and low for the bag she had seen on the internet, the same one Hyang-gi had copied. It turns out she even Hong do’s only follower called Bok soon who has always admired her designs. To the astonishment of everyone, Hong-do is whisked away to her new job.

Camille gives Hong do a set of instructions. She tells her to always pick up her phone and be ready to show up within 30 minutes no matter where she is or what time it is. Also, She can’t stand people who are always working. Hong-do is super excited because she has moved up from being a basic servant to a fancier servant. Fie her first job, Camille wants her to make anything Korean.

Meanwhile, Yoon-bok and Yoon-ah sit down with the cop to chat about the case. They agree to go over the stuff from the crime that happened 17 years ago. Yoon-ah thinks that the Village might be in danger, so she recommends beefing up security at home.

Hong-hak is at home, doodling anime characters and remembering the girl who had his back at the club. He is on the rooftop when he sees Yoon ah returning home with Yoon bok. He instantly recognizes her but gets surprised hearing her call Yoon bok master. He overhears Yoon-ah worrying over Yoon-bok’s fever which he got from helping Hong do in the rain. She tries to touch him but he warns her not to over step her boundaries.

As he lays in bed, feeling all down, Yoon-bok can’t help but remember all those times he was stuck at home as a kid, feeling sick. His mom and sister took off from the village, and his grandfather had coldly told him not to waste time waiting for them. He said the only person he could count on was himself.

Yoon-ah catches Hong-hak sneaking around, Yoon ah teases Yoon-bok about his skill at setting boundaries in relationships. He asks for  her name so he could write it on his drawing, but she just storms off. Hong hak swings by Yoon-bok’s place to ask him questions about Yoon ah, but when he gets there, he sees that Yoon bok is very sick. Feeling anxious, he decides to reach out to his sister for assistance. Without wasting any time, Hong do hurries back home to prepare some comforting porridge for Yoon bok.

However, despite his illness, Yoon-bok is at it again, working diligently when the doorbell rings. When he opens the door, he is greeted by Hong-do holding a container of delicious food. They couldn’t decide on where to sit, so they kept moving around until finally settling on a spot. Despite her initial reluctance, he convinces her to eat some porridge as well. Before she’s even done cleaning, he’s already passed out soundly. So she decides to spill the beans while he’s knocked out, sharing all her exciting news about landing a job with Camille. She  also thanks him for his support but while staring at him, she can’t help but marvel at his handsome face. Suddenly, sge spots the picture of the art thief, Gamjjok on his table. Although, his features isn’t clear.

Yoon bok wakes up the next day to notes left by Hong do. He feels like he owes her for taking care of him throughout the night.

The next day, Camille flips through Hong-do’s photos of all things ‘Korean,’ feeling unimpressed by what she sees. She knows she’s capable of designing at a much higher level. The key is to keep things fresh and in sync. The Marketing Head, Franky Leroy, showed off Camille’s amazing skills to motivate Hong-do. After hours of digging, Camille still can’t find anything good about Hong do’s work.

Back at home with only one last opportunity, Hong-do remembers meeting a man when she was a kid who had the same decoration she saw in a photo at Yoon-bok’s place. She gets inspired by the photo and sends a new design to Camille. Camille is impressed and Hong do gets the green light to dig deeper into the idea.

The Cultural Heritage Administrator and Camille grab lunch at Jun-ho’s traditional Joseon restaurant. The lady in charge suggested Camille uses fancy palaces or the Blue House for her next exhibition, but Camille prefers exploring new, unexplored spots like Seongsan Village.

Meanwhile, Hong hak pressures Yoon-ah for her name but she refuses threatening to put his name in the list of the dead if he keeps pressuring her.

Yoon-bok’s phone rings and he sees that it’s his sister calling, but he quickly ends the call before she can mention that she’s at the hospital. When he sees Hong-do outside, he invites her to grab a drink with him. Once more, they’re sitting back-to-back while he’s telling her about feeling abandoned. She tells him he can rely on her, but she is surprised when he actually leans on her. Hong do thinks he may be trying to express his feelings for her but it turns out he’s only being drunk.

He slumps on that ground. She takes him to the park and tells him to sit and relax while she fetches a glass of water, but just as she finally locates a store, her boss rings up with a 30-minute time limit. As Yoon-bok waits, he started counting to 100. He remembers how his mother and sister had promised to be back before he reached the end of his count.

When Yoon-bok hits 100, he feels really upset. But then, out of nowhere, Hong do appears – the one person who always accepted him just the way he is. They quickly make a plan to tour the city the next day and she manages to get his drunken self inside his house before rushing over to see her boss Camilla, just barely making it in time.

I found the ending really emotional. I’m still not sold on the romance. Yoon Bok’s character isn’t quite impressive for now. However, Hong do’s cuteness is doing it for me. We’ll see how the next episode turns out.
