Cha min was passing by when he witnessed the scene. After helping Jae rim, he got slapped by Don a who walks off in anger. However, Cha min brushes it aside and wraps his coat around Jae Rim before taking her to his office.
Cha Min is angry that Jae Rim let herself be pushed around. She isn’t as feisty with others as she is with him but Jae Rim reminds him that she’s only a staff. She wants him to apologize to Don a. They both joke about the slap but Cha min confesses that he and Dona aren’t in love. Their relationship is only for convenience. Instead, he cares more about Jae rim. He compliments her dress and leaves. Jae Rim is stunned.
Cha min meets Dona while she’s leaving and asks why she is acting odd but Dona who is flustered, doesn’t give him a straight answer. After she leaves, Cha min is met by Dong ho in the restroom. He advises him not to associate with women that aren’t their class because it would be difficult. But Cha min tells him it isn’t his concern and playfully asks if he likes him. Dong ho is speechless as Cha min tells him not to fall for him. He leaves and Dong ho is reminded of the time his girlfriend left him for another man. He promises himself not to lose again.
Jae Rim apologizes to Se na but she ridicules her for apologizing when she was the one who actually pushed her. She calls her poor, reveling in the fact that she is always mean to people like her and nothing happens. Jae Rim retorts that apologizing doesn’t lessen her value. But when Dong ho appears, she remembers how he treated her and walks away thinking to herself that she might always feel like a loser for the rest of her life.
Cha min suddenly approaches and after seeing her sad countenance, wants to know what happened but she stops him. She’s trying to hold in her anger as she expresses how she has always been stepped on. She thought after coming to Chungdam, things will change but she’s constantly been reminded of her place. Suddenly, Cha min tells her he would change things. She should only close her eyes. Jae rim gives him permission to do whatever he wants. She wraps her arms around his neck and right in front of everyone, they kiss passionately drawing disbelief and shock from their audience.
They eventually leave the building hand in hand but soon, they awkwardly part and Jae Rim points out that he has changed. He is suddenly helping her when he hates her dreams but Cha min responds that he doesn’t hate her and believes she deserves love. Jae Rim gets embarrassed, believing he only pitied her. She is ashamed that she kissed him and is worried over what their co-workers would think. Cha min is amused, reminding her that she was quite ecstatic about the kiss and went along with it. Now that men think she won his heart, they will be after her. Jae rim sarcastically thanks him and leaves, refusing to allow him escort her
But inside the taxi, Jae Rim is actually excited, unable to stop thinking about the kiss. The taxi driver is familiar to her and she asks what he thinks about a man who kisses a woman he doesn’t like. The taxi driver rains curses on the man, saying such a person deserves death but Jae Rim defends that the person isn’t so bad and that the kiss was nice. The driver asserts he must be handsome like him. But Jae-rim doesn’t find that funny.
Meanwhile, Cha min is disturbed about the kiss so much so he tries listening to christian music in his car in a bid to quell his dirty thoughts. But he still sees Jae Rim with him and wonders if he’ll be able to see her date another man. His thoughts are interrupted by the appearance of the driver he had called to bring him home.
Dona goes home to see her two uncles enjoying their meal but she takes out her anger on them seeing how happy they look eating when she is in a bad mood.
They find it ironic that thugs like them are scared of her so they decide to take down whoever made her mad.
As for Jae-rim, she reaches home to find Dr. Gu showing up with guests for her step-mom so he can win Su-jin’s heart. It’s chaos as Su-jin is not interested, So-ra gives all the food to Jae-rim for working hard, and Hwa-jin feeds her before sneaking in some herself.
Then we have Cha-min taking out his frustration in his Hapkido class. He confesses to his master that his mom was a Cinderella who took all the money and divorced his dad. But he refuses to be stuck like his dad.
Next day at work, it is awkward. Cha-min pretends that the kiss is no big deal, Jae-rim gets offended and compares the kiss to a worm. But that’s not the reality. Cha-min is worried he will come off as clingy while Jae-rim is sad that the kiss did not affect him like it did her. The staff try to get the truth out of them but both deflect.
Right at that moment, Do-hong shows up and asks Jae-rim about the kiss. She claims Cha-min has a drunken habit of kissing poles but he doesn’t believe it. He invites her to his studio and even gifts her a hairpin. As he leaves, he runs into Cha-min and declares that he won’t stand down.
Internally, Cha-min is excited as it was his plan all along – the kiss would make Do-hong want what he cannot have. But Cha-min doesn’t understand why he is angry that Jae-rim might actually end up with Do-hong. While Jae-rim wonders why Do-hong is nice to her again, staff member Guk-jin keeps insisting that Cha-min likes her as they have never seen their CEO so out of character.
She doesn’t believe him but decides to test it. She visits Cha-min who makes fun of Do-hong’s hair clip. But he is instantly jealous when he hears that Jae-rim is going to Do-hong’s studio. She suddenly asks for another kiss to check something and he is flustered. At the end, he agrees and she stalks over to him.
