In the second episode, we witness additional detectives at the hospital clearing up the aftermath caused by Jang Jae-Kyeong in the last episode. He had consumed his own blood and destroyed the yellow pill in order to eliminate any evidence. It is understandable that the hospital staff are displeased about the situation. However, the police accepted full blame for the disorder and assured that they would manage the situation correctly. Nevertheless, Kim Chang Soo senses that there is something not quite right about Jae-Kyeong’s actions. His trembling hands and fast heartbeat indicate that he is using drugs. He couldn’t overlook this, and even the hospital doctor confirms their suspicions.
Next, a seemingly steady Detective Jang Jae-Kyeong approaches them, clearly angry because the hospital had drawn his blood without his consent. He believes it is wrong to take someone’s blood and send it for testing without their permission. However, the rest of the police officers and detectives believe that he is simply attempting to conceal information. Since Jae-Kyeong’s partner, Kim Chang soo, suspects something suspicious is happening, he advises Jae-Kyeong to go home and rest instead of trying to conceal the truth.
Still, Jae Kyeong is convinced that Jang Chul Gu has a legitimate motive for seeking revenge on him due to shooting him in the leg, taking him into custody, and sabotaging their significant drug trafficking scheme. During his hospital stay, Jang Jae-Kyeong attempts to harm Jang Chul Gu believing that he may be linked to Park Jun-Seo in some way. He believes that this is how Jang Chul Gu is seeking vengeance. However, Jang Chul Gu continues to claim that he is not acquainted with anyone by the name of Park. Jae-Kyeong becomes more aggressive when he attempts to use scissors to force Jang Chul Gu to provide information, leading to Jang Chul Gu’s frightened reaction and resulting in him urinating. In conclusion, Jang Chul Gu claims to be aware of the identity of the distributor of the yellow pill, which is CEO Yoon. The name is obviously fake since there is no legitimate identity associated with them. The individual can only provide services online and may operate under different aliases. The detective suspects that this man could be “The Doctor.”
After that, we are introduced to CEO Yoon. She is a woman drug dealer who is collaborating with “The Doctor” to kidnap and drug Jang Jae-Kyeong in return for the chance to discuss drug transactions directly with him. Yoon’s subordinates one of whom is the man who took Jae Kyeong’s gun are also left wondering why “The Doctor” harbors such strong animosity towards Jae-Kyeong. It is clear that neither Jang Chul Gu nor CEO Yoon is “The Doctor.”
It became known to everyone that Park Jun-Seo had taken his own life due to the grief of losing his daughter. The news has left everyone shocked, with Jae-Kyeong being particularly taken aback. He had suspected that Park could be responsible for everything. Jae-Kyeong is extremely doubtful to the point where he insists on seeing the deceased body in person as he cannot accept that his long-time friend has passed away. Despite the animosity they felt towards each other, there was also a strong bond of love between them, as they had been close friends since their time in school.
We catch a glimpse of their schooling experience when Jae Kyeong transferred to the school in the middle of 11th grade due to his father’s position as the Education Minister. Jae Kyung was disturbed by the bribery committed by his father with the principal, so he decided to anonymously threaten the principal by writing a letter, leading to Park Jun Seo taking the blame. Despite only recently beginning school together, they believed that their friendship would endure indefinitely.
Jae-Kyeong believes that it is necessary to conduct an autopsy on Park’s body because there is a possibility that their death was not a suicide, but a homicide. His suspicion increases further upon hearing Prosecutor Park Tae-Jin state that an autopsy is unnecessary. Park Tae-Jin is also a person who went to the same school as them.
In order to learn more, Jang Jae-Kyeong takes Park’s phone without permission, nearly causing a confrontation with another inspector. Despite this, he discovers the names of Park Tae-Jin and Oh Yoon-Jin in the phone’s call history. Why did Park contact them before passing away? Was there any kind of connection between them? Following a conversation with them and reuniting with his old friends at the funeral, he creates a dramatic commotion by insisting that an autopsy be performed on Park Jun Seo’s body. He firmly believes that Park Jun Seo could not have taken his own life after reaching out to all of his friends. He is so determined to do this that he gets into fights with others, but when Park Jun Seo’s wife, who is grieving, intervenes and mentions that she didn’t even receive a call from her late husband, Jang Jae-Kyeong begins to think that he may be overanalyzing the situation. Perhaps Park just wanted to check on them. He chooses to dwell on his friend’s passing instead of harboring suspicions about others.
Nevertheless, Jang Jae-Kyeong remains perplexed by the events unfolding around him and is unsure if Park actually took his own life. During the funeral, an acquaintance informs him that Park had visited him for insurance reasons and had expressed a desire to create a will. Park Tae Jin reads his will which specifies that his $5 million company will be split into two parts, with one part going to Jang Jae-Kyeong and the other part going to Oh Yoon-Jin. Both of them, along with the others, are bewildered and surprised.
In the epilogue, the attractive girl that Jae Kyeong and Park Jun Seo saw at the bus stop is shown entering the classroom as the new transfer student. Jae Kyeong doesn’t pay much attention to her until she questions the class motto on helping a friend and proposes that their teacher amend it. That is when he becomes fascinated.
