Crash Episode 7 Recap

The seventh episode starts with Jae-young driving on the highway, only to be provoked by another driver. Becoming increasingly careless, Jae-young ends up crashing, and the driver hurls a lighter at the car, causing it to explode.

During the funeral, Jung-wook and commissioner Pyo, who is Jung-wook’s father, have a conversation with Jae-young’s father. Commissioner Pyo informs him that it appears Jae-young was killed, which angers the father to the point where he angrily breaks a glass cup in his hand, unconcerned about the bleeding.

Kyung-soo shows up and Jung-wook informs him about the murder. Kyung Soo accuses Jung Wook of killing Jae Young to silence him after being afraid he might expose what really happened during the accident from years ago. Jung wook was on the verge of attacking him, but the arrival of commissioner Pyo abruptly ended the fight.

In the meantime, Jae-man drinks in remembrance of his wife’s death anniversary.

Yeon-ho visits Lee Hyun-soo’s father at the columbarium where she is laid to rest. As they were leaving, Yeon-ho catches sight of Jae-young’s ashes being transported to the columbarium. In another location, the police station receives an emergency call reporting a car that has come to a halt in the middle of a road.

Upon returning to the office, Hyun-kyung runs into Dong-gi’s father, who has arrived to see his son. Hyun kyung is entertained by the playful interactions between the father and son. During the team meeting, the topic of discussion shifts to parents and Hyun-kyung noticeably remains silent when it comes to her own parents.

Nevertheless, Yeon ho is not with them. Everyone ponders where he could have possibly gone. Just then, So hee receives a phone call about the car stopped in the middle of the road, and everyone hurries away.

At the same time, Chief Gu is informed by a coworker that a high-ranking individual in the Inspection Division headquarters has a child employed in his own department. However, they are unaware of the person’s identity. The TCI team arrived at the scene to discover that the man in the car had passed away.

At that moment, So-hee receives a phone call from another supervisor who is currently at the scene of a traffic accident involving a flipped carrier truck. The superintendent is frustrated with Yeon-ho for constantly being a nuisance by lingering around the scene without permission. So-hee and the rest of the team arrive at the location and forcefully take Yeon-ho with them, despite his protests that something was not right.

At the same time, Kyung-soo listens to his fellow truck drivers talking about the accident. The reason the carrier truck flipped over was because it was illegally modified to transport five cars, despite being designed for only three. The drivers are unhappy that the only way to be profitable is by agreeing to load the trucks beyond their capacity.

So-hee’s father is at the repair shop to pick up his car when he encounters Yeon-ho, who has made the decision to resume driving and is having his car inspected. Yeon ho no longer wears glasses or appears nerdy.

Later, So hee and Yeon ho are given information about the ratchet buckle, a common tool used for securing cargo. The forensic expert informs So-hee that the item was intentionally cut. Yeon-ho believes that the man’s death must be linked to the truck rollover accident, as they occurred in close proximity to each other.

They have verified that the buckle originated from the carrier truck. Nevertheless, when they look into the matter, the other superintendent and his team make a big deal about the TCI supposedly taking their case. The final choice lies with Chief Gu, who communicates with the other police chief and secures jurisdiction for TCI. The team is pleased, but they are questioning why Chief Gu is being unusually kind to them. At the same time, Chief Gu and his coworker commend each other for their handling of the situation. At this point, these two are just providing humor.

Yeon-ho and So-hee visit Nam Jae-hoon, the truck driver, at the hospital, but he is not in his hospital bed. They discover him on the roof, prepared to leap. He claims he was instructed by his higher-ups to overload the truck, and now those same superiors have abandoned him. He is going to lose all of his savings as a result of the accident. His daughter arrives just in time, and although he is not feeling well, he puts on a front and returns downstairs with her.

Next, we witness the promotion of Commissioner Pyo to the position of Commissioner General. He rejoices in his office, but captain Jung is not pleased when he sees the news. Jae-hoon feels relieved at the hospital when he learns that the man’s death was caused by someone else and not by him. He informs So-hee and Yeon-ho that while at a rest stop, a man entered one of the vehicles on his truck and was tampering with it. Because of this, the two engaged in a physical altercation.

The police locate the man, who is a chef named Cho Ikh-wan, and interrogate him. They are aware that he left his dormitory in the middle of the night, but it was later discovered that he was actually out on a romantic drive with his coworker. The couple shared that they spotted a man holding bolt cutters while they were in the car. He had on a green hat and then proceeded to walk towards the truck drivers’ rest stop nearby.

Yeon-ho and So-hee visit the rest stop where Yeon-ho realizes that the locker room does not have any keys. He informs the team that the person responsible took Jae-hoon’s truck keys and then returned them while the driver was showering.

Commissioner Pyo, Tae-ju, and Jae-young’s father dine together. While Tae-ju is using the restroom, the other two are talking about how Jae-young died due to the incident involving Lee Hyun-soo. Since her husband died when he went abroad for surgery, Yeon-ho and Captain Jung are believed to be the suspects. Commissioner Pyo chooses to assign the case to Captain Jung, following the saying ‘keep your enemies closer.’

The following day, Dong-gi encounters a young truck driver who had stopped by the driver’s lounge. He was present during the moment when Kyung-soo eavesdropped on the other drivers. Currently, he informs Dong-gi that Jae-hoon had a quarrel with a man wearing a green hat. He informs Dong-gi that he recently spotted the man at the rest area.

Commissioner Pyo subsequently has a meal with captain Jung. He hands over the documents related to Jae-young’s case to him.

Another truck driver informs So-hee and Yeon-ho that a fellow driver had a similar accident with their carrier truck in the past. After receiving a phone call from Dong-gi, Yeon-ho goes to assist him in locating the man wearing a green hat. Yeon-ho is the one who ultimately discovers him, and it turns out that the man is actually Kyung-soo.

Yeon-ho talks to Kyung-soo, who appears afraid of him because he believes Yeon-ho is to blame for Jae Young’s death and wants to harm him. Kyung-soo becomes even more frightened when he spots a black car nearby, only to realize that it is not a cause for concern. Kyung-soo directly questions Yeon-ho about Jae-young’s murder and then flees after not receiving a response. He climbs into his truck, which is also loaded with five cars, and drives away.

So-hee arrives just in time to witness his departure. She has verified that Kyung-soo was the person who Jae-hoon fought with. They enter her vehicle and pursue him. Hyun-kyung then phones So-hee and instructs her to leave the place. She has recently watched video footage from a security camera showing someone cutting the ratchet buckle on Kyung-soo’s truck.

Regrettably, the brake pedal is also not functioning and Kyung-soo is unable to stop. The cars start to drop off the truck and So-hee skillfully navigates her own car through the chaos. In the end, despite Kyung-soo’s attempts, the truck still ends up crashing on its side.

Crash just keeps getting better with every episode. I’m curious as to what Hyung kyung is hiding. I think she’s the daughter of a high ranking official which is why she’s so quiet about her life. Thank you.
