Crash Episode 6 Recap

In Episode 6, Yeon-ho goes to the police station and notices people looking at him strangely and whispering about him. He tells So-hee that the online post was true. She doesn’t blame him, but she says he should have been honest from the start.

Meanwhile, Lee Tae-ju finds out about the rumors circulating at work through an online post, and Commissioner Pyo tells his secretary to figure out who posted it. The team finds out that Captain Jung and Chief Gu are talking about sending Yeon-ho on leave because people are criticizing him. However, Jae-man steps in and says he will not fire Yeon-ho.

Afterwards, Yeon-ho and So-hee go to meet the Major Crimes Investigation team to get the results of the DNA test. Tae Ju and his team make fun of them because the results show that the car thief is not the rapist. The TCI team is disappointed by this news, especially Yeon-ho, who feels sad about the wrong analysis. Captain Jung tells him to not dwell on his disappointment but tells the team to keep investigating.

Meanwhile, Lee Tae-ju is told that there is a different DNA on the scissors used by the car thief, so he asks for it to be checked again.

The TCI searches a list of people who were in prison before finding the woman’s red car in a public parking lot. They discover a set of red high-heeled shoes. Yeon-ho thinks that maybe the person responsible is using the dashcam to gather details about the people they target.

Afterward, they discover another car theft and choose to look into it. They talk to Ms. Cho, a grumpy woman who refused to talk to So-hee. She said that the things stolen from her have not been given back to her yet. So-hee gives her contact information and then goes away telling her to get her help anytime. However, she informs Yeon-ho that she saw a pink stun gun in Ms Cho’s car, which was one of the stolen items on the list. This suggests that she could have been assaulted before, but she does not want to discuss it. However, she doesn’t understand why the DNA test results are not the same.

Meanwhile, Tae-ju is getting frustrated because the investigation is not moving fast enough. He instructs his team to gather DNA from anyone who seems suspicious. The staff who was there before pulls Tae-ju to the side and informs him that the second DNA sample taken with the scissors is a perfect match with the rapist. Tae-ju says to keep this secret for now. Tae-ju visits the TCI office and talks to Captain Jung in an attempt to learn more about the car thief. However, Captain Jung does not trust him and does not share any information about his investigation. Tae ju told his team to investigate ex-convict car thieves who had been released before the rape cases.

Commissioner Pyo meets with Jung-wook and Jae-young at a restaurant and scolded Jae-young for posting about Cha Yeon-ho. Jae-young was upset that Yeon-ho became a policeman, but he later said sorry. Commissioner Pyo assures them that he would locate the person who sent the news article.

So-hee and Yeon-ho return to the office and find two officers from Seoul headquarters here to conduct an investigation on Yeon ho. His colleagues observe as they ask him about his situation and the consequences that have followed. He acknowledges experiencing nightmares, ringing in the ears, and other issues. However, since the questioning will be lengthy, the members decide to go have a meal instead. Meanwhile, the rest of the team talks about what So-hee discovered in the other case. She becomes suspicious when she finds out that Tae-ju visited Captain Jung. Of course, she sees the new DNA results and then confronts Tae-ju in front of everyone, exposing what he did. Everyone now understands that Yeon-ho was correct. Inspector So, who is in charge of the major crimes division, has always held a low opinion of TCI, and now he is disappointed by Tae ju because Tae Ju kept the news to himself so that headquarters could get credit for finding the culprit.

After giving their materials to the joint investigation, the TCI team feels sad that their efforts are being passed on to another team. Ms Cho, the woman involved in the car theft case suddenly calls So-hee after having a change of heart. This time, she finally accepts what occurred. After her car was taken, she found the stun gun in her mailbox but didn’t tell the police.

Yeon-ho is released from the interrogation now. He goes back to the office and sees that So-hee left a box of new running shoes for him. He smiles because of this.

Ms Cho tells So-hee that the person who did it was tall, had double eyelids, and spoke in a certain way, all matching the description of the last suspect, Park Sung Jin. At the same time, Tae-ju tells his team to go after Park Sung-jin as well. As Ms Cho leaves, So hee promises to bring the suspect to Justice.

So-hee goes back to the office. She simply smiles when she sees Yeon ho is wearing the running shoes she bought for him. She then shares all the information from Ms. Cho with Yeon-ho. Ms Cho also informed her that the man claimed he always succeeds when pursuing a woman. This makes them question if the woman they rescued in the previous case is still at risk.

So-hee goes to tell the joint investigation team, and much to everyone’s surprise, Inspector So instructs everyone to follow So-hee.

Yeon-ho takes So hee’s car keys and starts driving, but then he starts remembering his accident halfway through the journey. Nevertheless, he continues in order to rescue the woman.

In the woman’s home, we see that the man has already entered without permission and is threatening her mother with a gun. Yeon-ho comes and notices some cigarette butts outside the house. He discovers the woman’s mother who has been restrained and kept in a room. Yeon-ho stops the man from attacking the woman. The man turns out to be Park Sung-jin. He runs away and Yeon-ho chases after him once more. After finally catching him, Park Sung Jin attempts to harm him with a knife. However, Yeon-ho remembers his training with So-hee and uses it to defeat him.

The investigation is finished, but Inspector So is given the recognition on TV. Tae-ju meets the TCI and tells them he’s happy they solved the case. He also informs that the outcome of Yeon-ho’s case has been released and he will not lose his job. The team goes to eat beef to celebrate, but Captain Jung doesn’t join them. So-hee mentioned that it is the anniversary of his wife’s passing.

Afterward, she asks Yeon-ho how he drove her car, and he explains that he was concentrating on rescuing the woman. Because she gave him the running  shoes, he was able to catch the thief. He inquires about Captain Jung’s wife and So-hee tells him she was killed in a hit-and-run accident.

In another place, Jae-young is driving recklessly and talking to Jung-wook on the phone. He is upset because Yeon-ho is not taking his case seriously and is being rude when talking to him. Jae-young gets competitive with another car that speeds past him, causing him to crash and flip over. The man from the other  car goes to Jae-young, who asks for help and recognizes him from the accident many years ago. However, the man throws a lighter at the car and it bursts into flames.

Wow! Wow! I think the man who caused the news articles and Jae Young’s death is Lee Hyunsoo’s husband. I am curious why nobody mentioned him if he is still alive. I am surprised that he wasn’t the main suspect for sharing the old news article since he would have been my top choice. Anyway, It was a great episode.
