Yun ja Yu is the CEO of Blood free, a successful conglomerate company that deals with culturing meat by preserving nature. Her company is against killing of animals and forests but rather conserving life. However, she faces numerous oppositions from the public. There are people who support her as well. But things escalate when she faces a sudden threat to her life. A man lands on the roof of her car while in traffic and dies. This incident causes her neck to get ruptured but a strange man saves her by ensuring no one moves her until she gets to the hospital.
At the hospital while recovering, she stares at security footage trying to discover who this strange man who saved her is when she is faced with another unforeseen situation. The documents at her company have all been locked. This is the work of a famous ransom ware cyber terrorist group known for hacking into several high profile institutions. All efforts to recover their files prove abortive and the cyber terrorist group send a text ordering the company to pay the sum of eighty billion won to their account.
Not only is the ransom ware attack an issue, but there have been rumors spread that the fluids used in BF meats are filled with bacteria. Yu ja Yu who is frustrated is unable to rest at the hospital. She returns to the company trying to find solutions with her team, the scientist, her research director Mr On, her secretary, Ms Jung and the security director Seo hee, all of whom gather together to find a solution. But they are unable to. Her secretary Ms Jung discovers the man who saved her, his name is Won Chaewon and he used to be a naval soldier before quitting and working with Sanghwa, a powerful company. He got fired and is now without a job. But Yun ja yu gets highly interested mainly because Chae won has experience battling a ransom ware attack while in the naval base. She figures she could use his expertise by employing him to be her body guard.
Meanwhile, Chae won has his own agenda. He is dealing with a traumatic past where he was involved in a spontaneous terrorist attack during the former president’s visit to the military camp. Lots of influential figures, the president and even Yun ja Yu was present. Thousands of people died in that tragic occurrence.
Chae won pays a visit to the former president who lost his legs as a result of the attack. The two work together to figure out who among the surviving influential figures was responsible for the attack. It was an attempt on the former president’s life and only those who survived the incident must have been responsible for it. To find the culprit, Chae won had left the naval base and started to work under Sanghwa, whose CEO had survived the incident but after finding nothing odd about him, he had quit. Now, his next target is Yun ja Yu whom the former president is most suspicious of given that she had more to gain from his death than others.
During his tenure, she had wanted him to legalize cultured meat which he refused but after he was replaced due to loosing his legs, she got the support of the current president and now, her company has exponentially grown. The former president tells Chae won he would help him gain entry into Yun ja Yu’s company since she’s currently in need of a body guard to protect her but in return, he should find out every weakness of her. He suspects she’s in a relationship with her Research director Mr On, who was rumored to have divorced his wife because of her. Chae won leaves, unaware that someone else is influencing the former president and that is the current prime minister Woo jae who has an evil intention against Yun ja Yu.
In the next episode, Chae won is seen going through a rigorous interview at BF to become Yun ja Yu’s body guard. He goes through a fighting simulation and a driving simulation, all of which he passes. He is even tested at his home to check if he would be tempted by money to give away Yun ja Yu’s wherabouts causing him to engage in a fight with a body guard. He passes and Yun ja Yu’s secretary Ms Jung finally takes him to personally meet her saying Yun ja Yu has gained new enemies, a southern drug gang who sees her as a threat to their meat business.
During their first meeting, Chae won shows his professionalism by keeping Yun ja Yu away from the window. She asks him several questions but is more concerned with how the navy managed the ransom ware attack because she truly has no intention of paying those thieves 80 billion won but Chae Won tells her she has no other choice but to send the money. After that, they can trace where the money went and catch those responsible. Yun ja Yu agrees with his suggestion and has her secretary Ms Jung send the 80 billion won to the ransomware attacker. Immediately, the company files get unlocked and the staffs have access to their Internet again.
Chae won accompanies Yun ja Yu to a meeting with the prime minister. While he waits outside with her driver, Yun ja Yu seeks the help of Woo jae to trace the money she had sent to the ransom attackers. It would be a feat to him as the first prime minister to catch them. Woo jae agrees but on the condition that she pays as much as 80 billion won to the government and tell the public that her meat is bacteria free. Yun ja Yu agrees to it. He then asks her to share her ingredients to her culture meat but Yun ja Yu refuses because it’s what gives her the upper hand and creates a monopoly for her business. Woo Jae agrees to help and Yun ja Yu leaves bitterly, innerly annoyed that she has to put up with a sly fox like him. On leaving, Yun ja Yu gets a call from On san telling her that one of their staff members had an accident. The accident seems suspicious.
Chae Won escorts Yun ja Yu to her hotel room before heading back home to check the secret footage he had managed to secure for the day. But then, he notices something odd with the ransomware texts that was sent to BF. Chae Won goes back to Yun ja Yu to tell her his findings. The ransomware attackers were Russian and after checking the one sent to the navy and the one sent to BF, Chae won could tell that the one sent to BF was a caricature of the real ransomware attack meaning it was fake. Someone else was pretending to be them and Chae won figures it was an insider, someone very close to her. This heightens Yun ja Yu’s suspicions and she begins to believe that there is a traitor close to her.
