Seong Jae nearly kills Joo Yeong but Do Jin woo and Moon Yeong arrive in time to rescue her. To protect Moon Yeong, Do Jin woo starts fighting with Seong Jae while Joo Yeong uses the opportunity to escape. Moon Yeong catches up to her and tells her she would make sure she is taken to court. Joo Yeong then tells her it seems she hasn’t yet gotten the gift she left her. That’s when Moon Yeong suddenly recieves a call from Shin hwa that her father is in coma after attempting suicide and that Joo Yeong was the last person who visited him. Moon Yeong is heartbroken by the news whereas Joo Yeong is upset Moon Yeong’s father didn’t die.
Seong jae who had defeated Do Jin woo in the fight comes up to them with a wrench. He warns Moon Yeong to step aside or he would have no choice but to kill her. But Moon Yeong refuses, putting herself before Joo Yeong to protect her. Do Jin woo appears and yell at Seong jae to stop. Just then, Joo Yeong does something crazy. She wraps her arms tightly around Moon Yeong’s stomach and jumps into the sea with her. Do jin woo jumps in after them while Seong jae looks on in shock. While holding her tight, Joo Yeong looses consciousness inside the water but Moon Yeong grabs her and swims back up.
Detective Baek is informed that some people washed up on shore. He goes with his men to the scene only to find Moon Yeong, Do Jin woo and Joo Yeong who is unconscious. They are taken to the hospital. Joo Yeong is treated but remains unconscious. Detective Baek order his men to arrest her as soon as she wakes up. He also visits Do Jin woo who is getting bandaged up while Moon Yeong and Shin hwa learn that her father’s situation is critical.
Choi Ho shik is annoyed that Joo Yeong is still alive and has gotten information that Seong Jae is in Switzerland. Meanwhile, Seong jae had gone to the bank to receive his money. They have even approved the transaction when the bank staff recieves information that Hwang Tae Soo, the owner of the account is dead. They try to clarify this from him but under the pretext of getting his driver license, he flees. He then calls Chairman Choi Ho shik but the man responds that he has a gift for him. A group of thugs appear and fearing for his life, Seong Jae starts running away.
After checking on Joo Yeong, Moon Yeong meets Do Jin woo on her way to see her father. He gives her her father’s wallet which was the only thing he had with him. Moon Yeong opens it, surprised to see a cut out newspaper picture of herself.
Moon Yeong talks to her father while he’s still unconscious, pouring out all her pains and regrets about their relationship. She also faults herself for keeping away from him because of her resentment. She pleads that if he cared for her, he would wake up. Seong jae’s mother has been recieving messages to report to the police station as she’s under investigation for Hwang Tae Soo’s murder. This leaves her panicking especially when she recieves a call from Seong Jae, warning her not to answer any call from Korea. But the line suddenly cuts off because Seong Jae is being brutally beaten by Choi ho shik’s thugs and a polythene bag wrapped around his face leaving him suffocating until a police car shows up and the thugs leave him for dead.
Joo Yeong wakes up in time to catch a nurse trying to inject her with something fatal. As she and the nurse wrestle with the injection, Moon Yeong comes from behind and breaks a vase on the nurse head thereby saving her. However, Joo Yeong threatens to kill herself with the injection if Moon Yeong doesn’t give her her car keys to go somewhere. Moon Yeong offers to take her wherever wants. However, they are beings watched in the CCTV room by Do Jin woo, Shin hwa and lieutenant Baek. They are surprised that Moon Yeong doesn’t seem to appear like she’s in danger and wonders where they may be going but Do Jin woo knows and tells them to come with him.
The two women are at Ha Jae pil, Joo Yeong’s father’s grave which Moon Yeong had set up. Joo Yeong is surprised and asks Moon Yeong when she did this. She replies that it was after the trial. She wanted to give Ha Jae pil back his name. Joo Yeong acts tough at first but breaks down when Moon Yeong tells her she understood why Joo Yeong was obsessed with her. When she was younger, she wanted to be a prosecutor but due to her lie, Joo Yeong’s life turned upside down. If it weren’t for her, she would have lived the life Moon Yeong was living now.
She apologises for stealing her dream but says she shouldn’t put the entire fault on her and try to be happy because it’s what het father would want. The huge wall Joo Yeong had built over her heart crumbles and she cries sorrowfully. By then, the others along with the police arrive but Moon Yeong signal to them to let Joo Yeong grieve.
A few moments later, Joo Yeong is taken away and Shin hwa yells at Moon Yeong for putting herself at risk but she calms down when Do Jin woo tells her Moon Yeong had informed him of her whereabouts in case something happened to her. Moon Yeong says the next thing to do is to get her daughter.
She goes to the hotel in London where Bom is but Seong jae’s mother tries to prevent her from seeing Bom as she desperately asks about Seong Jae, pretending to be docile for a while but upon realising her tactic isn’t working on Moon Yeong, she becomes harsh again, blaming Moon Yeong for everything. However, Bom sees them in the hotel corridor and finally, Mother and daughter are reunited.
The three return to Korea and after Bom bids her grandmother good bye and leaves with Moon Yeong, her grandmother is arrested by detective Baek and his men. Detective Baek announces that he would soon retire leaving the other police men wheezing as they all drive away.
Shin hwa is retiring from her job as a prosecutor. While Moon Yeong helps her pack, the two women discuss about how things have turned out well. The eighty billion won in Switzerland had been frozen since it’s illegal money. Moon Yeong reveals that Mr Lee, the arsonist she represented has been put back in jail. While she was representing him, she had managed to dig up dirts against him. Now he’s back in jail serving a three year prison sentence. She apologises to Shin hwa for her attitude back then but her friend is just very impressed with her. Chairman ho shik has been arrested as well but in other for him not to use corruption to get out of prison, Moon Yeong advices Shin hwa to use the public sentiment against him. This seems to work so well that no lawyer wants to take up his case for fear of public outlash, leaving Chairman ho shik frustrated.
As for Mr Cha, he’s now outcasted from the group of political elites. No one wants to associate with him after learning he had betrayed his own family for his selfish reasons.
Do jin woo goes shopping to buy a stuffed animal for his daughter. He thinks of something and buys another one with a smile on his lips.
Moon Yeong shows Bom their new house making her excited. Just then, Do Jin woo meets them, giving Bom the stuffed animal in a pack. She thanks him appreciatively. Moon Yeong and Do Jin woo sit down to talk privately and he tells her he’s meeting his daughter. Her adoptive parents will bring her. Moon Yeong is happy for him. He says he would embrace being her father because she might need him one day. Just then, she recieves a call from the hospital that her father has woken up.
Moon Yeong visits him with Bom and introduce them to each other. Although, he’s embarrassed but Moon Yeong makes him feel comfortable and Bom gives him a get well soon card. Her father is acquited for the murder of Chairman Choi Moo Won. However, when Moon Yeong makes him an offer to live with her and Bom, he refuses as he’s not ready. He promises to stay in touch but Moon Yeong tells him that whenever the pain settles, he should find her. Both father and daughter seperate and her father visits Ha Jae pil’s grave to pay his respect, apologising for what he did to him.
Unfortunately, Moon Yeong has to face the consequences of her own actions. She’s sentenced to a year in prison.
A year later, Shin hwa has set up her own law firm while Detective Baek and Do Jin woo work as her investigators. Moon Yeong is her manager having gotten her law license revoked.
Meanwhile, Moon Yeong is speaking with Bom’s counselor who tells her that Bom’s mental health is faring better now as she has nearly forgotten all her bad memories. Th counselor then asks when her father would be coming back from Switzerland but Moon Yeong replies that she doesn’t think he would ever come back.
It turns out Seong jae is a paraplegic patient in a hospital in Seoul. No one knows who he is so they can’t take him away. Seong jae who can’t move and talk stares longingly at another patient with his own family.
Joo Yeong is living a reclusive life in prison, refusing to eat, drink or read Moon Yeong’s letters to her. But one day, she changes her mind and starts eating after reading Moon Yeong’s letter.
Moon Yeong and Bom are strolling back home when Moon Yeong gets a text from Shin hwa begging her to come back to work since her vacation had ended. Moon Yeong simply smiles and just then, Bom meets her best friend on the street who is also walking with her mom.
Both girls are excited to see each other. Her friend invites Bom to see her puppy and after Bom pleads, Moon Yeong gives her permission. Her friend’s Mom promises to look after her well. As they leave, Moon Yeong is struck with tears as everything that has happened hits her like a ton of bricks but she straightens up and walks on determined never to look back again.
