Hide Episode 5 Recap

Moon Yeong is shocked, demanding to know who Joo Young really is. She simply replies that she wants Moon Yeong to do all the dirty things her husband used to do for her or risk her exposing the truth about Seon jae being alive. She says she could kill her family, although she claims she would never hurt her child. I doubt her. She gives Moon Yeong time to think it over and without wasting any moment, Moon Yeong hurries to pick Bom from school. Bom rightfully gets upset after Moon Yeong renegades on her promise to take her out and tell her what she said she would tell her that morning. Moon Yeong deeply apologizes and promises to spoil her another time.

Moon Yeong meets Shin hwa and discloses her recent dilemma with Joo young. Shin Hwa also tells her that before Chairman Ma died, Do jin woo had visited him, further increasing her suspicion. Moon Yeong begs her to help find everything she can on Joo young. Moon Yeong then goes to the office and asks Ms Hong’s to get her a private investigator to help in finding someone. Ms Hong reluctantly agrees. Moon Yeong then tries calling Seon Jae’s line but is surprised to hear the phone ringing inside a box in the office. She secretly takes the box into a private chamber and when she opens it, she’s shocked to see her husband’s phone in there. Joo young sends a message through the phone telling her to make her mind up.

Moon Yeong, frustrated, returns to her and agrees to work for her but on the condition that she can see her husband. Joo young grants the wish and very early in the morning, she’s driven in a bus to where Seon Jae is. Seon Jae meets her inside and warns her never to work for Joo young. They don’t have much time to spend together as they are separated. She calls Joo Young to accept her offer. Meanwhile, the guard who used to work with Chairman Ma asks Joo young why she’s going so far and she responds that it’s fun.

Moon Yeong starts working for Joo young, doing all her dirty works, bribery, and black mail. When she’s done, she approaches Joo Yeong’s guard (the one who used to work for Chairman Ma) and asks when she will be paid. He responds that Joo Young will get back to her. Suddenly, Do Jin woo calls Sun jae’s phone and gets surprised when Moon Yeong answers. She suggests they meet to talk. The two meet at Moon Yeong’s house and Do Jin woo seems surprised when he hears of Chairman Ma’s death. Moon Yeong is suspicious of him and Do Jin woo explains that he went there to tell Chairman Ma that Song Jae was alive. However, he has no more intentions of talking with Moon Yeong but she presses him so hard, asking if he was the one that broke into her house the last time. Do Jin woo denies it until finally, he admits he didn’t care about money but was looking for Song jae because he knew the whereabouts of his daughter whom he only just discovered was born. He tells her he would find Seong Jae and expose his true colors.

Their conversation gets interrupted when Moon Yeong gets a call from Joo Young telling her to represent a well known arsonist Lee Bang Cheol, promising her this would be the last time she blackmails her. Ms Hong and her assistant don’t understand how Moon Yeong could take such a case knowing the evidence against Lee Bang Cheol was overwhelming and that there’s nothing they can do to prove his innocence.

After visiting Lee Bang Cheol in prison, Moon Yeong is about to drive off when she’s hounded by Shin hwa. She is disappointed that Moon Yeong is taking the case of a murderer like Lee Bang Cheol. Shin hwa had to threaten her prosecutor ex husband to be able to get information on Joo young. Joo young not an executive of Geumshin but she’s a powerful lobbyist that not even the police can catch because of how smart she is. Shin hwa demands to know what is really going on but Moon Yeong refuses telling her that if she does, she would become an accomplice. She suggests they each do their own job and this hurts Shin hwa. She tells Moon Yeong that she would do everything to send Lee Bang Cheol to prison even if she has to cut off his hand that is responsible for taking so many lives.

Moon Yeong does her investigations and discovers that beneficiaries from their foundation started the fire.

Seon jae’s mother calls Seon jae’s phone but is surprised when Moon Yeong picks up telling her that she would explain everything to her when she comes to their house. But unfortunately, her father in law overhears them. Meanwhile, lieutenant Baek comes to question her about Hwang Tae Soo who was Do Jin woo’s shooter. He says they traced his phone but surprisingly, every location leads to her. Moon Yeong panics. Thankfully, their conversation is cut short when her father in law summons her to his home. When she arrives, he scolds both her and his wife for keeping the truth from him. It could damage the law firm and the foundation’s reputation, thereby preventing him from winning the mayoral elections. But when he learns that Seon Jae was kidnapped, he calms down and asks who is responsible. Moon Yeong responds that it is Geumshin corporation. They kidnapped him. In return for his freedom, she would have to represent an arsonist in court. Her father in law looks bothered by this. She stops herself from telling him that the beneficiaries from their foundation are responsible for the fire.

Her father in law Mr Cha secretly visits the chairman of Geumshin, (an elderly man who lives with Joo young) asking him to stay away from his family as this wasn’t what he expected when he promised to fund his campaign but the Chairman simply laughs at him in response.

Moon Yeong wins the trial by bringing in a fake witness. It’s obvious the entire court was bought as all of Shin hwa’s evidence is overruled. Lee Bang Cheol is set free much to Moon Yeong’s anger After the trial, Shin hwa meets with Moon Yeong expressing her disappointment in her. She tells her to stay away from her or she wouldn’t be able to stop herself from cursing at her. Moon Yeong tells her to curse at her but that she shouldn’t stop seeing her. Shin Hwa is too angry to stay and walks away. Just then, Joo young appears to congratulate Moon Yeong for winning the case. She assures her that what she wants will arrive that night.

Sure enough, Seon Jae comes to the house and Moon Yeong is so relieved. The two reunite as she cries over the terrible things she has done for his sake. Seon Jae apologises and gets himself ready to meet Bom and his parents at their house. When Moon Yeong and Seon Jae arrive, at first Bom is hesitant to hug Seon Jae as she’s in shock but after Moon Yeong explains things to her, her fear recedes and she hugs her father.

Meanwhile, lieutenant Baek discovers Song Jae is alive after checking through security footage of Hwang Tae Soo being kidnapped. Do Jin woo stands in front of the family house as he recalls his last conversation with Chairman Ma who was angry after discovering Seon Jae had lied to him. He learned that it was Yoon Yeong who introduced Seon Jae to him.

The family is bonding. Everyone is in a good mood when Moon Yeong suddenly receives a shocking text from Joo young showing Seon Jae and his mother killing Hwang Tae Soo.

Joo Yeong calls her at the time and in a mocking tone, asks her what it’s like to be the wife of a murderer.
