In episode 15, Jung-won receives a call from another reporter who connects her with the mother of the truck driver responsible for the collision near Bongto factory. The mother reveals that her son was paid by someone to cause the accident, as evidenced by the sudden payment of her hospital bills. In her son’s belongings, she finds Gong Joon-ho’s business card. This jogs Jung-won’s memory that Joon-ho had killed her father.
Meanwhile, Tae-heon and Joon-ho get into a fight where Tae-heon is stabbed but also manages to stab Joon-ho’s leg. Police led by Myung-soo arrive, but Joon-ho escapes into the nearby forest. While hiding, Joon-ho calls Seol Pan-ho to inform him that Tae-heon knows the truth. Tae-heon is rushed to the hospital for his injury.
When Jung-won arrives home, Pan-ho and Woo-jae are there. Before she can confront Pan-ho about Joon-ho, he reveals that Joon-ho has disappeared. Jung-won then discloses that Joon-ho was the one who killed her father, Cha Eun-sae, and Lee Ba-reun. Though initially suspicious, Pan-ho claims innocence and states that Joon-ho was only Mo Hyung-taek’s secretary at the time.
Later, Woo-jae asks Pan-ho about the truck accident, knowing he ordered Joon-ho to arrange it. He questions whether his child should have a father like Pan-ho, who will become as monstrous.
In the morning, Jung-won calls Tae-heon and learns of his injury from Myung-soo. She rushes to see him in the hospital, while Woo-jae watches her leave. At Tae-heon’s bedside, Jung-won worries about losing him, but he promises to never leave her. Woo-jae overhears their conversation. Tae-heon then tells Jung-won he placed a GPS tracker on Joon-ho.
We see Joon-ho tend to his injury in a public bathroom, but Myung-soo soon finds him there and takes him into custody. Myung-soo informs Tae-heon, who prepares to question Joon-ho. Jung-won asks to observe the interrogation, and Tae-heon allows it.
During questioning, Joon-ho confesses to committing all the murders. In doing so, Jung-won hears about Woo-jae’s emergency call. Joon-ho refuses to implicate Woo-jae or Pan-ho in any way. As Joon-ho exits the room, Jung-won confronts him for killing her father, which he does not deny. Afterward, Tae-heon tells Jung-won he suspects Woo-jae of hitting Na-ri.
At home, Woo-jae learns what transpired from his father. Then, Pan-ho meets with Mo Hyung-taek, the recent election winner. Mo gives Pan-ho the bloody headlight piece with no conditions. However, Pan-ho realizes Mo is about to threaten him, so he reveals he’s set Jung-won on Mo’s trail for now. He warns the assemblyman to lie low.
Jung-won returns home and questions Woo-jae about whether his father has a connection to Joon-ho. Woo-jae is unable to confirm or deny it. Instead, he apologizes for demanding so much from Jung-won and agrees to get a divorce.

Some time later, Jung-won receives a call from Mo Hyung-taek asking to meet in person. When they meet, Jung-won asks him about Joon-ho and the truck accident. However, Mo says that on January 9th of that year, Seo Sang-gyeon had come to see him – the day before he died. Mo recounts how Sang-gyeon had mentioned hiding evidence about another crime committed by Pan-ho. Jung-won asks why Mo is telling her all this, but he doesn’t seem sure.
While searching Joon-ho’s apartment, Tae-heon finds a camera that belonged to Sang-gyeon, which Jung-won also recognizes. But there is no memory card inside.
Later, Kang In-han tells Jung-won to check a backup website for Sang-gyeon’s data. Meanwhile, when Woo-jae tells Pan-ho he is leaving Mujin Group, Pan-ho gets angry. Woo-jae then meets with Tae-heon, who openly suspects Woo-jae of killing Na-ri, saying hiding it will only make Jung-won suffer more.
At home, Jung-won finds a different ID her father wrote down and manages to log into the account. She is shocked to discover footage of Woo-jae hitting Na-ri with his car.
Woo-jae wakes up to a text from Jung-won asking to meet where they first met. He goes to the beach where Jung-won had first found him staring at the ocean. Jung-won reveals she knows what he did. Woo-jae cries and repents, and Jung-won encourages him to tell the truth, which he agrees to do.
Later at an awards ceremony, after Mujin Group receives an award, Woo-jae accepts it and confesses to killing Na-ri at the end of his speech.
