Nothing Uncovered Episode 5 Recap

The episode begins with Jung-won discovering that her therapist, Yoon-young, was the same woman in the red coat who was with her husband. She verifies it when she notices the identical coat in the therapist’s office. Next, we observe footage of Yoon-young editing the message that caused Jung-won to go to the incorrect floor of the building.

Following that, Jung-won receives a phone call Woo jae, requesting her presence at an opening ceremony for a foundation. Jung-won acts as if everything is okay and exits her therapist’s office. Sitting in her car, she remembers that it was Woo-jae who had suggested this clinic to her. Jung-won then contacts the nurse at the clinic, Ms. Choi, and agrees to join her for a meal as she had suggested.

Tae-heon and Myung-soo are reviewing their list of potential culprits when Kim Min-chul shows up at the police station. At the time of Eun-sae’s death, he was patrolling. Tae-heon inquires him about it. In the meantime, Jung-won meets up with Ms. Choi for a drink and encourages her to open up and talk. She claims that Eun-sae also sought treatment from Yoon-young. Jung-won is surprised to learn that the doctor records all of her consultation sessions, as revealed by the woman.

In another location, Yoon-young sees a video from one of Jung-won’s therapy sessions. When Woo-jae shows up, Yoon-young cautions him about the bugs that Jung-won planted before leaving. They are currently at Woo-jae’s former studio apartment, and Yoon-young mentions that she has now taken over the rental for herself. Yoon-young discloses that Jung-won is aware that he visited Eun-sae on the day she passed away. Afterward, she mentioned that Jung-won had blood on her sleeve when she arrived for the consultation that day. Woo-jae pushes her aside and expresses regret for seeking her assistance. However, he is troubled by the report of Jung-won’s listening devices.

Ms. Choi wakes up in a hotel room in the morning. Jung-won is present and attempts to persuade Choi to assist her by obtaining the recordings of Eun-sae’s therapy sessions. Jung-won later goes to work and catches her colleagues talking about her husband’s scandal, which she found out about from Noh Jin-ho. Jung-won confidently enters and asserts herself. Afterward, Jung-won visits Woo-jae’s family house and looks around his former bedroom. She comes across a picture of Woo-jae and Yoon-young from their high school days. Yoon-young is then called.

Upon returning to the police station, Tae-heon discovers that Eun-sae and her brother are originally from Mueon, the same city where Woo-jae and Min-chul attended high school. Mo Hyung-taek also had a stint working in Mueon. Everyone involved in this case has a connection to this location, except for Jung-won.

Noh Ji-ho pays a visit to Tae-heon and inquires about his connection with Jung-won. Tae-heon dodges and declines to provide any information about the investigation as well. Later on, Tae-heon goes to pay respects at the tombstone of an officer named Cha Jin-woo.

Three years ago, there is a scene where Tae-heon angrily breaks into his partner’s car in a flashback. Upon entering, he discovers a suitcase containing a large amount of money. Someone called Tae-heon and informed him of the whereabouts of the other detective. However, upon arriving at the location, the detective plummets from the building. Jin-woo informs Tae-heon that Jung-won is also being dishonest with him. After his death, Jung-won promptly shows up. Tae-heon accuses her of using their relationship to gather information about Jin-woo for her show.

In the present time, Tae-heon encounters Jung-won, who has also arrived to place flowers on Jin-woo’s grave. After exchanging words, Tae-heon goes to play baseball with another man who used to be a detective and appears to have a long-standing relationship with him.

Jung-won arrives home and encounters Woo-jae. He questions her about the blood on her clothes and inquires if she is responsible for Eun-sae’s death. He claims that his only intention is to keep her safe. Jung-won remarks that they now both have doubts about each other being responsible for the murder.

The couple is going to the opening ceremony of the charitable foundation today. The detectives are also present. Yoon-young unexpectedly showed up, leading us to deduce that Jung-won had invited her. She and Woo-jae act as if they are meeting each other for the first time. Jung-won receives a message from Choi, informing her that she has saved copies of the videos from Eun-sae’s sessions. This is the reason why Jung-won asked Yoon-young to meet up. Woo-jae and Jung-won step forward to respond to the reporter’s inquiries. Noh Jin-ho causes a commotion by mentioning Eun-sae. Jung-won openly announces that she will address the investigation on her show, alluding to the information Choi shared with her about Eun sae’s brother Geum-sae’s alleged assault on the actress. Upon hearing this, Geum-sae, who was also invited by Jung-won, gets angry and leaves.

Afterwards, Jung-won observes Tae-heon trailing behind Woo-jae. She phones Tae-heon and asks him to speak to her before anyone else. Because Noh has been watching Jung-won closely, Tae-heon takes Jung-won into a storage room. He inquires from her the true motive behind her defense of Woo-jae. Noh Jin-ho runs into Woo-jae and mocks him about Jung-won. Woo-jae ignores him and then overhears a staff member mention that a detective is inside the supply room. Woo-jae notices Jung-won and Tae-heon leaving the room. He gives Tae-heon a call and instructs him to come up to the roof for a meeting.

Tae-heon asks Woo-jae about the woman in the red coat over there. He also brings up the Mueon coincidence. Woo-jae’s hesitancy to respond implies that he believes there may be a connection with Mueon. Woo-jae comes close to getting into a physical altercation with Tae-heon, but Jung-won steps in just in time to prevent it.

It was discovered that Jung-won had been listening in on the conversation the entire time. Woo-jae hands her a USB drive containing evidence of the attack on Eun-sae, which she can use for her program. Choi also sends Jung-won the videos of Eun-sae.

At the same time, the detectives discover that Jin Myung-sook’s former husband was connected to a fire at a chemical plant. Intentionally, she sought out Mo’s family following his passing. Tae-heon mentioned that Myung-sook is also associated with Mueon town. In the therapy sessions, Eun-sae openly mentions that Yoon-young and Woo-jae attended the same high school. She inquires whether Yoon-young is familiar with a person named Na-ri. In a state of drunkenness, she heard Woo-jae utter the name.

Jung-won examines the high school photograph of Woo-jae she discovered more closely. Afterward, she boards a train to Mueon. However, she is being followed by someone as she walks through the town. Jung-won goes after him, only to realize it is Tae-heon.
