Ki joo recalls his last moments with his uncle teaching him how to protect himself against ghosts. He had prepared for the two of them to travel to Pitcairn island, a less populated area in New zealand where there would be less ghosts. His uncle leaves the house a few days later before their intended travel but he never returns.
Now in the present, Ki joo is stunned by how protected he is from ghosts when he is with Han Bom. He asks her how it is possible but Han Bom is confused by his behavior. However, he is shocked when he is been arrested by the police. Han Bom had reported against him for ‘Kidnapping’ a minor.
At the police station. Ki joo tries to explain he isn’t a kidnapper but Han Bom insists that he is. She tells him to explain the photograph he took of Yoon Dal and his twin brother. Ki joo asks that if she does, would she believe him, making the atmosphere tense.
The detective questioning them leaves but orders them to stay away from each other. Just then, some thug ghosts notice Ki joo. They try to attack him but the protective shield appears when he’s close to Han Bom making them unable to get close. Han Bom panics due to his desperation to be near her. The detective returns and notices Ki Joo’s odd behavior. He calls Han Bom to speak with her privately. He tells her that indeed Yoon Dal chose to go with Ki Joo but Han Bom still believes he’s suspicious.
The detective goes back to meet with Ki joo. He tells him that he would have let him go. It’s just that he has had many reports against him. He then gives him an affidavit of character form for a close person to fill. Ki Joo calls Sung ho but he’s busy scaring the new person who took over his position at work. With no one to vouch for him, Ki joo is taken to jail. Han Bom promises to vouch for Ki joo as long as he tells her the truth. Ki joo reveals that he’s a ghost photographer who takes photos of the dead. Han Bom and the detective find it funny. She teases him to enjoy his time with his ghosts but as she tries to leave, Ki joo holds on to her so she could protect him from the ghosts who are waiting to attack him. Han Bom manages to free herself from his grip and walks away leaving him to the mercy of the ghosts.
Han Bom is at her house. Although she finds Ki joo’s claims ridiculous, she can’t help but feel bothered by him. Meanwhile, Ki Joo has a nightmare seeing his uncle’s ghost in the studio and getting attacked by numerous ghosts at the same time.
Eun Tak arrives at the police station apologizing to an annoyed Ki joo for arriving late. He then possesses a random man’s body in order to vouch for Ki joo.
The next morning, Ki joo goes to confess to a catholic priest about his confusion with Han Bom, wondering why just as he’s about to die, God had to send him a protective light through her instead of giving it to him directly. Ki joo then asks why the chapel is empty when it’s nearly time for service. The priest replies that he died that day, revealing his ghost form. Ki Joo yelps in fear and runs away ignoring the priest’s cries that he has something to tell him.
Ki joo goes back home, relieved that Han joo’s tent is still in front of his apartment. Unfortunately, she isn’t around. Grandma asks why he’s searching for Han Bom and Ki joo uses the excuse of taking her photos to ask questions about Han Bom. Grandma thinks Ki joo is interested in Han Bom. While taking her photo, she reveals that Han Bom watched her parents die in front of her. She later tells Ki joo where Han Bom’s office is. Ki joo goes to meet Han Bom at her friend’s office. He tries to convince her that he sees ghosts. Han Bom wants proof so Baek Nam koo tries to move the phone in her hand but nothing happens. No matter how hard he tries. A text on Han Bom’s phone comes up and Baek Nam Koo reads it word for word to Ki joo who says it aloud. Han Bom is shocked, somehow believing that what Ki joo told her about seeing ghosts is true. Ki joo then invites her to come to his studio by sun down so she can see things for herself. He then hands her a letter he saw at her tent before leaving. It’s an invite to a reunion party for lawyers. Han Bom looks reluctant to go.
Han Bom and Grandma head home together with the two of them bickering as always. Grandma notices the scar on her left wrist and asks if she wouldn’t get it removed with modern technology but Han Bom replies that it’s a sign of her survival. Grandma gets angry when Han Bom suggests she run a tteokbokki business like her, yelling that if she had saved up all the money she spent on Han Bom to become a prosecutor, she would have been rich by now.
Ki Joo and Baek Nam Koo are cleaning up the studio when a bright light shines from the gate of death as a ghost enters. It’s the catholic priest and he comes to them pleading with them about a video.
Baek nam steals the map leading to the priest’s office but tells them he can’t come with them since he used to be a cop before he died. This gets Sung ho angry but Ki joo reminds him not to mess with Baek nam koo as he’s quite a dangerous man.
A talkative customer tells Grandma that Han Bom didn’t quit her job. She actually got fired because she upset an important prosecutor. It’s the reason why she can’t get work anywhere else. Grandma is shaken up after hearing this.
That night, Han Bom visits Ki joo’s studio and he shows her around. She is fascinated when Sung ho and Baek Nam jo arrive with flowers and treats respectively. She can only see the items floating in the air and not them. Sung ho gets frustrated when it seems as if Han Bom doesn’t remember her time with him. He tries to get close but the protective shield appears throwing him off her.
Ki joo takes Han Bom to another room where he explains how he cannot maintain a simple relationship or eat like a normal person because of the ghosts who are unable to come to the studio. Those ones try to kill him in other to get the camera. He tells her he only has a hundred days left to live and pleads with her to protect him until that time after which he would return her apartment back to her.
Ki joo, Seung ho and the priest sneak into the latters office in the church to delete the video on his laptop but Ki joo is caught. Yoon hae arrives at the reunion where she gets subtly threatened by the Chief prosecutor who fired her. She also gets mocked by an old colleague. Suddenly, the detective from before calls her to let her know that Ki joo is in the station being reported by priests. Han Bom arrives to defend Ki joo who is unable to prove his innocence. The detective tells him that if he isn’t able to open the priest’s laptop with his password, he would be sent to jail. Finally, the priest remembers the password is Aespa, the name of a famous Kpop girl group. Everyone is surprised when Ki joo enters the password and it works revealing Aespa’s dance videos and the priest’s ultimate love for the group.
The priest reveals his purpose was to let his fellow priests know about how much he loves Aespa and enjoy it with them. Suddenly, everyone starts dancing to the group’s song much to the detective’s surprise.
Han Bom asks Ki joo out to drink. While they are together, he asks Han Bom if she would protect him, refusing to drink with her until she gives him an answer. Han Bom sadly replies that she’s in no position to protect anyone. She reveals she got fired from her work and that a man died because of her. Ki joo tells her it isn’t the same thing but Han Bom still doesn’t have any confidence left.
Grandma who feels bad about how she treated Han Bom. tells her to pack up her tent and move back in with her. Han Bom is surprised yet happy about it. Later that night, while lying on Grandmother’s lap, she tells her she feels upset for rejecting someone who needed her help but Grandma tells her to look out for herself first. She promises to take care of Han Bom until her death.
The next day, Grandma goes to the talkative woman who gossiped to her and demands she should tell her how she could meet the prosecutor who fired Han Bom. Next, we see Grandma going to the office but for some reason, she isn’t feeling well. The receptionist tells her she can’t see the prosecutor without an appointment. The prosecutor enters at that moment startled when she calls out her daughter’s name but he ignores her as she is led out of the company building by security.
Grandma is about to enter the bus when she suddenly collapses. Passers rush to help her. She manages to get up again to pick her rice cakes only for her to collapse again and this time, give up the ghost. Just when Han Bom was celebrating finally getting three cases, she gets a call delivering tragic news about her grandmother’s sudden death.
At the photo studio, Ki joo places the picture of the priest and his colleagues among other pictures, then ticks off the day that has already passed feeling saddened as he remembers Han Bom’s rejection. Suddenly, he sees Grandma in the studio. At first he’s confused why she’s there. That’s when he realizes she’s dead.
Han Bom is so devastated that she nearly gets hit while crying in the zebra crossing. Ki joo manages to pull her out of the road. Han Bom wails. She doesn’t want to believe that he can see her grandmother’s ghost but his silence is enough answer. The episode ends.
