The episode opens up when Hyun woo proposed to Hae in at an empty aquarium unaware that she had rented the entire place that day.
Now, in the present, Hyun woo tries to pull Hae in’s memory from the past by reminding her that they had actually traveled to Germany and that he had decieved her. He tells her he wishes this moment could last forever but knows that’s not possible. At first confused, Hae in finally remembers feeling humiliated by her vulnerability and tells Hyun woo with utmost seriousness that she wants a divorce. This leaves Hyun woo heartbroken.
The next day at the company, Yang ki and Hyun woo arrive at the store to meet with Hae in for the divorce proceedings. However, they are terrified when they discover who Hae In’s lawyer is. It’s Vincenzo Cassano (Actor, Song joong Ki’s legendary character from the tv series Vincenzo). He is a formidable man and takes no nonsense. He tells Hyun woo that he isn’t here to negotiate telling him that Hae In’s reputation would be ruined once the divorce comes out and that instead of irreconcilable differences, he should say that they grew distant. Hyun woo really doesn’t care what reason it is knowing that whatever they say isn’t the real reason they got divorced.
Suddenly, we get a flash back to a long time ago when Hyin woo took Hae in on a train to see the sunset for the first time. That event replays in Hae In’s head as she heads back home. She decides to stop somewhere, going to all the places Hyun woo loved to go, like the base ball ring which she discovered she absolutely enjoyed. Then she stops at Hyun woo’s favorite restaurant and hides him and his friend Yang ki who are eating there. She sits behind them overhearing their conversation. Yang ki talks about all the hardships Hyun woo faced while being married to Hae in but to her surprise, Hyun woo says that he chose that life because he wanted to be close to Hae in.
Meanwhile, Eun Sung recalls when he was younger, how he had saved Hae in from a dog who was chasing her by hitting the dog. The owner yelled and insulted him but apologized to Hae in immediately after finding out who she was but no one cared about Eun Sung and that he was hurt. Even his mother had pretended not to know him and fawned over Hae in but it was only Hae in that had cared about his injury by wrapping a cloth around his leg. when she left, she had left her necklace behind and it’s what Eun Sung wears on his neck even till now.
He waits until Hae in gets home and once again, declares his intentions for her asking her to kick Hyun woo out of the company since they are now divorced but Hae in rejects the idea, inside insisting that despite everything, Hyun woo is good at his job. She tells Eun Sung she would give up on Hercyna because she doesn’t want to owe him but Eun Sung says he doesn’t want anything in return from her making Hae in offended at his audacity to have her now that she is divorced. The presence of Seul hee cuts short their conversation and Hae in leaves.
Hyun woo’s mother Bong ae meets her daughter Mi rae at her salon and tells her to do for her a complete make over. She plans to meet Seon hwa to discuss about their children but she doesn’t want to be looked down on. The two women meet and Bong ae looks quite good. She pleads with Seon hwa to cooperate with her to bring peace between their children but as usual, Seon hwa is rude to her as usual talking about how Hyun woo is an opportunist and has been spying on her father in law. She even accuses the other woman of trying to record her like her son. However, Bong ae doesn’t believe he has bad intentions so Seon hwa gives her devastating news, that Hyun woo and Hae in are already divorced.
She returns home to her family who is waiting for her. Without a word, they already know what has happened. Meanwhile, Hyun woo discovers from his jeweler friend that the person who had bought and gifted the wrist watch to director Jo was Seul hee. He also discovers that his assistant is Eun Sung’s spy.
He intercepts Eun sung while he is following Hae in in his car and asks him what he plans to do with Hae in but Eun Sung rebuffs him saying he has no right to question him since he’s no longer married to Hae in. They are in the middle of traffic so Eun Sung decides to drive away but just as he leaves, Hyun woo notices the wrist watch in his hand recognizing it as the same model Seul hee had bought for Director Jo.
Now, Eun Sung’s evil plan has begun as he informs Soo Cheol that the land he had bought for the resort is still being occupied by the military who have refused to leave. Soo Cheol is surprised because they had agreed to move before. He doesn’t understand what happened so he immediately rushes to Hyun woo for help. At first, Hyun woo refuses telling him to get Eun Sung to help him instead but after Soo Cheol begs, Hyun woo agrees to assist him and with his lawyer skills, they manage to convince the military to vacate the land.
Meanwhile, Chairman Man dae is annoyed by this recent development. When Beom jun tries to defend his son, he yells at him that he’s just as foolish as Soo Cheol. But Soo Cheol enters to tell everyone that he and Hyun woo had solved the issue giving them momentary relief
However, Eun Sung’s plan isn’t over yet as the investors suddenly begin to pull out one by one leaving Soo Cheol flustered given that he had solved the issues with the land but the investors reveal their lack of trust at their company whose financial director embezzled a lot of money. They say they wouldn’t have known if it weren’t for Hyun woo who told him. (This is a huge fat lie. It’s actually Eun Sung that leaked the news)
Alone, Eun Sung convinces Soo Cheol to turn against Hyun woo feeding him lies that he did all these just to get back at Hae in and stupid Soo Cheol actually believed him.
Eun Sung then offers to be the sole investor of the project and Soo Cheol happily brings this idea to his father and grandfather but Hyun woo barges into their meeting to stop them from signing the deal, telling Chairman Man dae that if the deal eventually failed, Eun Sung would become the second largest shareholder after him. But earlier on, Seul hee had already poisoned Chairman Man dae’s mind lying to him that the great Shaman predicted he would run into bad luck if he listens to anyone who dissuades him from his plan.
With that, Chairman Man dae ignores Hyun Woo and stamps the deal. He then calls security to throw Hyun woo out of his office
(Stupid! Stupid bunch of people. I can’t believe they are this foolish)
Anyway, as soon as Hyun woo leaves, he notices that his Id card doesn’t work anymore. He can’t even sign into the company profile. (He has been fired)
At the end of work, the security team comes to humiliate Hyun woo telling him to leave the company on the order of the chairman but Hae in, seeing the chaos defends Hyun woo ordering them to go home since it’s past working hours. The security reluctantly comply.
Alone in the elevator, Hae in angrily asks Hyun woo why he’s putting up with all these kinds of humiliation but he responds it’s because he wants to be there. He suddenly asks her how she’s doing and she responds that she’s doing well.
As Hyun woo is heading out, Beom ja suddenly picks him up and they go somewhere private to talk. She accuses him of having a mistress but Hyun woo denies it, saying all he wants is to be by Hae In’s side but someone is doing everything they can to kick him out of the family. Beom ja then reveals to him her suspicions of Seul hee, how she’s living under a false identity and that she has a son. Hye won is surprised to hear this and decides to partner up with Beom ja and her private investigator friend Conan.
The three meet up at a cafe and Conan informs them that after Seul hee gave birth in prison, she sent her son to an orphanage, Evergreen orphanage. Beom ja is surprised because that happens to be the orphanage Chairman Man dae and Seul hee sponsored years ago but it has recently shut down. They visit the hunting ground manager and ask him and his wife about the orphanage. The wife reveals that Eun Sung resembles a boy who went to that orphanage. The company had given him scholarship and he had traveled abroad. They are all stunned because the description perfectly fits Eun sung.
Meanwhile, Chairman Man dae foolishly gives Seul hee the right to make decisions for him so as to convince the prosecutors that she could indeed embezzle funds in the company. She signed the documents in front of a group of legal practitioners making the document binding.
While making preparations for Chairman Man dae’s eightieth birthday, Seul hee is making sole decisions for the party which irritates Seon hwa and Beom ja. Beom ja reminds her that Seon hwa is the lady of the house not her and Seul hee gives in easily but Beom ja loses it when she sees her mother’s wedding ring on Seul hee’s finger. (The manipulative….must have put it there to purposely get her angry) Beom ja drags Seul hee by the hand to her father demanding why he had to give her mother’s wedding ring to her but Chairman Man dae gets angry at her.
Beom ja cries that he’s pushing his children away for a gold digger like Seul hee but Chairman Man dae shuts her up saying that Seul hee is brave enough to go to jail for him while his own children cannot. But Beom ja reveals that Seul hee has been to jail before and had even given birth but the chairman doesn’t believe her. Meanwhile, Seul hee continues to play the victim crying that she will leave the house, even pulling out the ring and saying she can’t handle it anymore. Chairman Man dae tries to plead with her to stay but Beom ja pulls at her hair when Chairman Man dae threatens to put her in a mental hospital. Seeing red, Chairman Man dae pushes Beom ja aside and hits her saying her mother cursed him by giving birth to her. He sends her out. Beom ja is shocked because it’s the first time her father has ever hit her.
Stunned, Beom ja cut ties with her father crying that she wouldn’t attend his birthday party. She would leave the house but at least, attend his funeral. But Chairman Man dae doesn’t care thinking he has done the right thing by defending Seul hee. (Foolish old man)
Beom ja goes to see Conan with a fistful of Seul hee’s hair she had really dragged her hair in order to collect DNA sample proving she’s Eun Sung’s biological mother. She had also collected Eun Sung’s comb. However when Hyun woo arrives, her tough facade crumbles and she breaks down in tears, crying that her father had hit her for the first time. Hyun woo comforts her.
Chairman Man dae’s eightieth birthday takes place. While Soo Cheol is hosting the party, Da hye packs her things and leaves the house with their son switching off her phone and throwing it away so that Soo Cheol would never be able to contact her. Grace turns the surveillance cameras off and some masked men enter the house from the back area and pack up all of Da hye’s things.
Soo Cheol returns home only to find that Da hye disappeared with his son. The only thing she left behind was a note telling him not to bother looking for them. Soo Cheol almost runs crazy after this, crying that his son can’t go to bed if he doesn’t tuck him in. Truly enough, Da hye is having a hard time keeping her son calm as he keeps crying in the plane.
Meanwhile, the DNA test results have come out. Hyun woo and Beom ja discover that Eun Sung and Seul hee really are mother and son.
Chairman Man dae and Seul hee are playing Korean chess when Hyun woo calls him to tell him the truth about Eun Sung and Seul hee’s relationship. He also reveals that Eun Sung had been buying all his shares and would soon take over the company if he doesn’t withdraw the deal. He warns the chairman to be discreet and not act as if he knows. Chairman Man dae hangs up but in a second, h starts to get dizzy. It is then that Seul hee shows him her true face revealing that she had poisoned him and that very soon he would be paralyzed and enter a coma and since he had given her full authority to make decisions for him, she would take over everything he has.
Chairman Man dae stares at her in shock and disbelief as she mocks him for trusting her over his own children. She wishes him to be alive for at least three months so that her plan can be finalized. Chairman Man dae collapses and before he completely blanks out, his last thoughts are of his family celebrating Beom ja’s birthday.
The entire family is in shock when they get to the hospital only to discover that they have been prevented from seeing Chairman Man dae. The security tell them only his legal guardian can allow access and not even his children can see him without their permission. Beom ja and Beom jun are shocked. Just then, Seul hee arrives exposing her true nature. Beom ja and Hyun woo announce to the family that she’s Eun Sung’s mother and she, having nothing to loose does not deny it. She warns them that if they don’t behave, she would never let them see Chairman Man dae.
Just like that, everything tumbles down. The stakeholders rule against the family and remove their rights to the company transferring everything to Eun Sung who has now become the CEO. Meanwhile, the family have fled with no one knowing their whereabouts.
Hyun woo arrives home in a bus to meet his family. His siblings are happy over what happened to the Hongs saying that it’s better he had left their family and that karma had hit them after they chased him out of their house. But they are shocked when Hae in suddenly steps out from the bus behind them followed by the rest of her family.
Oh! How low the mighty have fallen!!!!
